Chapter 10 – Leveling Up And Realising How Overpowered I am

After talking to the goddess, I went back to my room and called I quits for the day. Mika-san told me to get plenty of sleep for tomorrow so I decided to sleep early today.

I am currently outside the garden and waiting for my teacher. After a few more minutes, my teacher finally arrived. And behind her, I saw multiple soldiers pulling a cage filled with… orc like creatures. What are those?

Noticing me looking at them, Mika-san called me

“Ah! Hey Yuki-san!” she shouted and was waving her hand to me. The soldiers then put the cage in the middle of the training ground and left.

“Uhhh, Mika-san… what’s that?” I asked. But she just replied in an energetic voice

“Orcs!”

“I can see that, but what are we using it for?”

“For you to level up!”

“Level up? What’s that?” Confused, I asked this question

“Do you remember your status?”

“Yes, I do.”

“Remember how it said ‘Level: 1’?”

“Yes.”

“You see, you get levels from killing monsters or doing your job. And if you level up, you will get more points for your basic stats!”

“I see.” Mika-san the continued

“Every job will get a different amount of points in each stat. For example, mages get more points into MP and INT when they level up compared to STR.”

“Ahhhhh, so that’s what it is.” I said, But after I said this, my voice switched into a colder tone.

“So why orcs? Why not goblins?’ I asked. Let me explain.

In this world monsters are categorized into ranks. D rank monsters are weak monsters like goblins and horned rabbits. C ranked monsters are like wolves and hobgoblins. B rank monsters are strong monsters. Examples of such monsters are Orcs and greater wolves. A rank mosnters are very strong monsters like Fenrirs, Ogres, Goblin General and wyverns. While S rank monsters are disaster class monsters. They are monsters that can deal a lot of damage in a country. Such monsters are Dragons, Goblin King and others.

And the final rank of monsters is called EX rank monsters. They are the most powerful monsters in the world like the Demon King…

And to fight these monsters, Humans used magic against them. But old magic spells can make magic power spill out from the human body and was extremely inefficient, causing excess mana to release from the human body and animals mutate to become monsters. So, researchers thought of ways to keep the magical power spill into a minimum.

Anyways back to the people who fight monsters. They are called adventurers. Adventurers are people who fights against monsters. You can be an adventurer when you sign up in an adventurer guild branch. The guild is not controlled by any country. So you can be sure that they don’t give any information about adventurers to the government.

Even if the adventurer is a criminal, they still won’t give any information to the government and will take the matter in their own hands and arrest the criminal themselves. Adventurers are also ranked from E to EX. They do this so that the adventurers don’t lose trust to the guild and leave.

Adventurers takes requests from the adventurers guild. And the requests they can take varies from rank to rank. E rankers can only take collecting or help requests where they help some shop or gather herbs for potions. D rankers can take monster extermination requests, but only weak ones. C rankers are basically fully fledged adventurers. They can do escort jobs and take some medium difficulty monster extermination requests. B rankers are considered experts in the field and can do high difficulty requests like fighting B ranked monsters.

And A rankers are people who are really strong. Some A rankers even have ties with some nobles. They are considered veterans and are respected by other adventurers and common people. And S rankers are treated as heroes. They often have connections with royalties. And finally, the EX rank…

The EX rank has been forgotten now because only one man was able to achive this rank… our founder, the legendary hero.

But if it was forgotten how do I have all of this information you ask? Well, I have been interested in becoming an adventurer for a while now because I want to travel around the world. So I have been researching stuff related to adventurers.

Back to the weird cage. Apparently Mika-san wanted me to kill the orcs inside it. She wants me to level out so that we can find out how much points it will give me in each status value. After a few seconds of silence, Mika-san got tired of waiting and decided to speak up.

“Kill it!”

“…” I just stayed silent.

“What you can’t kill living beings?” She asked as if she was mocking me.

Well whatever I guess. I thought

I used the strongest fire magic I have and killed the orcs in an instant. Mika-san looked shocked.

“I thought you were a nice pure kid before you reincarnated… I didn’t think you’d be this brutal”

Apparently, what I did was unexpected for her. But I just said that:

“It doesn’t matter if it’s a living being. If it’s trash, then I’ll kill it!” I said in a cutesy Idol voice.

“O-okay…”

I heard these words in my head.

“Umm Mika-san, I heard a voice in my said saying that I leveled up…” After I said this, Mika-san forgot about what I just did and became full with excitement.

“Really?” She asked in a very energetic tone. And I just replied half heartedly

“Yes.”

She then started explaining that I could see my own status by using a spell called “status”… how creatively named… Anyways apparently anyone could use this magic after they turn 6 so she said suggested that I should use it and tell her the results. She the started explaining some things to me.

“After leveling up, people usually get a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 increase in each stat depending on their jobs. For example, mages’ MP stats increase by 5 every level up but their HP stat only increases by 3.”

I see so stat increases depends on the jobs huh

“Status”

After I said the spell a screen suddenly popped up. I looked at my back and Mika-san explained that it only shows it to the spellcaster. I then looked at my stats and was shocked.

“You see… all of my stats… increased by 500…”

“EHHH?! What’s you’re current level?!” She asked.

“…Level 11”

“EHHHHHHHH?! THAT MEANS THAT YOU GET 50 POINTS IN EACH STAT EVERY LEVEL UP?!”

“Also…”

“Also?! There’s more?”

“I got some titles…”

“Titles?! Already? Tell me Tell me!”

I am currently being overpowered by Mika's excitement.

Can’t you relax a bit? I thought.

I just sighed and asked Maki how I can see the effects of my title. She said that I can use appraisal on it, which I did. And this is the result…

“Etoo.. I got [Reincarnator] [Blessing of the Goddess] [Idol] [Snow Princess]. And their effects are…”

I then used appraisal on my new title and another screen popped up in the air revealing the information I wanted

[Titles]

Reincarnator – A title which only a reincarnator can get. Reincarnated people will level up 2x faster than normal humans in this world. (Given at level 2)

Blessing of the Goddess – A title for people who is liked by the goddess of this world. Leveling up will be 5x faster. (Given at level 10)

Idol – This is a request by a weird girl – Goddess. The ones who got this title will be able to sing, dance and use magic better than anyone else in this world. Will be able to gain experience by singing and dancing. (Given at level 10)

Snow Princess – A special title for someone able to wield an ancient magic, Ice magic. (Given at level 10)

“…I’d rather not tell.”

“ehhhhh why?”

“Well… I’d like to keep that information classified.”

“boo~. Anyways, I have to go for a bit. I need to report your status to the king. I’ll be gone for a few minutes.”

“Sure.”

She complained, then left and went inside the palace. I also got a new skill but I didn’t reveal it to her because… well, it’s too overpowered.

Magic Efficiency Level 1/10 – Will reduce mana usage by a few percentage. Current mana usage: 90%

I almost passed out again using creation magic for the missing ingredients when I was making a cake last time. So this will definitely help me with that problem. Also, this is the first skill that have a level cap above 6.. that’s pretty interesting.

Although six is also bizzare because the limit in most skills is 5.

After a few more minutes she finally came back to me and apologized.

“Sorry about that. You’re father actually asked me to do this and said that If anything unusual happens that I should report it immediately..”

“No don’t worry about it, I understand”

It is currently 12 pm, and it’s almost time for my lunch break. I was about to leave but, Mika-san suddenly proposed an Idea.

“So I was thinking, the past few days has been pretty hectic for you huh? So how about we stroll around the capital and just relax?”
