Chapter 2 – A Teacher and Controlling my Mana

I woke up in a bed and beside me is my mother. Why is she here…

Then, I suddenly remembered what happened

Ah, I see… I guess I exhausted all my mana and passed out… Still, I didn’t think that the spell would have such high power… I got to be careful on controlling my magic next time…

As I was thinking about how I can adjust my magic properly, my mother started to move and woke up, after seeing me, she immediately-

“AH! Yuki! Are you okay now? Are you hurt?!” She asked loudly, she was bombarding me with questions…

“Don’t worry mom. I’m okay now… I think that I exhausted all my mana…”

“Eh?” She looked at me confused and said-

“But children under 6 shouldn’t be able to use magic…”

EH?! WHAT? I never heard of tha—ohhhh, now I remember what my father told me… Well I guess I messed up! Tehee!. I said that in my mind while imagine sticking my tongue out and hitting my head. Wait what stupidity am I thinking of about?!

“R-Really?” I asked

“Yes, children under 6 should only have 20 mana, and everyone is given attributes when they become 6 years old.”

Owaaa, I guess I’m gonna stand out now… well I don’t really care, I’m probably gonna stand out anyways when I become a Idol

“Hmmm… Ah!” My mother thought for a second. Looks like she figured something out…

“Since you’re a prodigy, Let’s have you study magic under an amazing sage!”

Ahhh she mistook me for a prodigy… well I guess she’s kinda right since no 5 year old should be able to use magic… And this will probably become helpful for me, It took me a long time (2 hours) to understand the foundation of magic. So a teacher guiding me should really help!

But what do I say in this situation…

“O-Okay…” I said in a low voice

“Okay! I’ll find the best teacher in this kingdom for you! I’ll bring a teacher here in a few weeks so just wait okay?!”

“y-yes ma’am”

After that, she left the room. I wonder how my parents can be so energetic…

Well I guess I’ll just read more books for the time being… and I want to control the amount of mana I use…

The next day, I went to the library once again to experiment.

“I might as well finish the book I was reading” I said that as I was walking to the room where the magic books are stored at.

I’ll make sure I don’t overdo it this time…

“Yosh!” I finally closed the book.

Alright I should probably try what I learned… but first of all I need to practice how to control my mana properly…

First I opened the window to use it for my water bolt experiment. I got a chair and stood in it to see the grass below the window.

“Okay, ill try limiting the mana usage.” The best way I can describe this is making the tube connected to the sink smaller so that there will be less water coming out of the sink and therefore reducing the mana required. I’m basically limiting the flow of mana in my body… First I aim down to the grass below the window in the garden and…

“Water Bolt!”

After that a small stream of water quickly launched from my hands to the grass

“Ah! Wait the pressure is too high!” As I said that, I see grass being destroyed turning them into nothing.

ahhh… what do I do?

“Cut it off! Cut it off! CUT THE MAGIC POWER OFF!!” I panicked and shouted my thoughts out loud. Thankfully it worked as the water stopped coming out from my hands

Uwaa that was bad. I need to figure out how to lower the pressure of the water… Hmm might as well try…

This time I tried it again, but I made the flow of mana slower.

“Water Bolt!” After I used the spell, water came out from my hands to the window. This time it wasn’t going as fast as before, which means…

“YES! MY EXPERIMENT WAS A SUCCESS!”

Yosh! Now I can freely control my mana. And now for the final experiment…

I want to store mana in my hands without leaking any of it and releasing them at once as a ball instead of a continuous stream.

Okay, Imagine a flask inside my hands and fill it up with mana. Okay, It looks like there no water leak.

After that increase the speed of the flow of my mana and…

“Water Ball!”

Release the mana stored all at once and increase it’s power by quickly increasing its speed and cut off the mana flowing to my hands.

After that, the ball hit a tree, completely destroying it.

“YESS! I DID IT! I MADE A WATER BALL!”

I can now control the size and power of my magic!

Though I kinda feel bad for our gardener… he’s always the one who keeps cleaning up my mess…

A few weeks later, Dad asked me to come to his office.

“Excuse me” I said that as I opened the door

“Hello Yuki, have a seat” My father pointed to a seat near his desk. Of course I took the seat

“So I’ll get straight to the point” As my father said that I gulped

“Are you able to use magic?” he asked

AHHHH! HE FOUND OUT ABOUT IT!! Well it’s weirder that he only confronted me about it now…

“Um y-yes, I-Im sorry for accidentally destroying the castle walls because I didn’t know how to contro-…”

Umm why are you crying” As I was nervously explaining, for some reason he started crying…

“Don’t worry about it, (sobs) I’m just proud of my little angel”

Okay…

“Ahem, your mother is asking you to go to the living room, she wants to introduce you to you’re teacher”

Ah, I completely forgot about that she was looking for a teacher to teach me…

“Okay dad.. I’m gonna go there now, take care…”

After that, I left for the living room

“Ah Yuki come here, sit right next to me.” I opened the door to the living room and my mom immediately called me.

After sitting my mom said in a loud voice

“I finally found a teacher for you!” and after that she shouted

“You can come in now” After she said that, the other door opened and a cute little girl came in…

“Alright Yuki, She’s best teacher I found for you!” My mother said that while pointing at the little girl…

Eh… THAT LITTLE GIRL IS MY TEACHER!?
