《THE SYMBOL》Chapter 5

“Mr. Wyatt, you have a lovely home here.”
The blonde southerner raised her eyebrows in admiration as she surveyed his living room. It was quite large and spacious. It housed several large sofas, a large glass table, a stone fireplace at the far end underneath a hug flat screen TV mounted on the wall. The crystal floors sparkled as the blonde noticed she could see her reflection in them.
“Thank you, Kate. And call me Ted. I’m not that old, you know?” Mr. Wyatt joked.
The blonde, Kate, ignored his comment with a wry smile and walked about the living room to continue her survey. Mr. Wyatt’s eyes dilated in lust as he caught side of her bouncy backside when she walked past him. She stood in front of the fire place, staring curiously at a photo frame. The frame displayed Mr. Wyatt standing beside a woman with his arm around her shoulder. The woman looked ten years younger than him. Kate guessed she must have been in her late forties. The woman was a bit plump had brown hair which was graying at the side. She had oval green eyes that reminded Kate of a cat.
“ Your wife.” Kate’s statement almost sounded like a question.
“Yes.” Mr. Wyatt was close to her now. He wrapped his hand around her waist as they both stared at the photo.
“It’s not the same anymore.” He added solemnly. “She travels a lot. Even before the travelling, the spark was gone. After the birth of our second child, she locked up her legs and threw away the key, if you know what I mean. I still don’t get it till today.”
Kate studied his face. He had that look. The look of a man who gave into infidelity. Not by choice. By force.
“ You never filed for a divorce?” She asked.
He was silent and that gave Kate the answer she needed.
“You still love her, don’t you?”

Again he was silent.
“I understand.” She smiled softly. Turning fully to face him, she grabbed hold of his two hands and placed them firmly on her backside. He involuntarily gave it a squeeze. She giggled and wrapped her hands around his neck, staring at him straight in the eyes.
“How about I soothe your pain? After all, that’s why you called me here.” She winked at him.
Needing no further invitation, Mr. Wyatt scooped her into his arms and dashed up the stairs to his room. Lamentations about his wife’s negligence would be attended to later. Kicking open the door to his bedroom, he moved towards the bed and placed her gently on it.
Kate giggled as he kissed up her neck. He cut her off as he got to her lips. She moaned into his mouth as his hands crawled underneath her tight shirt. Moving his hands around her back and upwards, he expertly unclasped her bra. He pulled it from under her top as they continued kissing and tossed it away. Off came her shirt next and her large breasts were in full display. He took his lips off hers to marvel at the sight of those twin fruits. They looked so firm despite their size and surprisingly defied gravity. Not wasting anymore time, he attached his lips to her right breast and sucked on her nipple.
Kate let out a hiss of pleasure. This was what she craved so much. Pre-intimacy. Her sex life was a huge disappointment. Most of the men in her past just cared about themselves alone. Get into the action, have an orgasm and that was it. But here was someone who was patient and willing to please her body. And as she felt Mr. Wyatt’s hands slip into her jeans and into her panties, she made her mind on one decision. Hell would freeze over before she let him go. He was a bonus package: wealthy and good in bed. His age didn’t matter. After all, the men in her previous relationship were way younger.

She squealed when his rough fingers slipped into her. Mr. Wyatt grinned as he felt his ego soar. This was what he loved about the women he had fun with. He loved their submissions to his touches and their sounds of pleasure. It made him know that at his age, he still had it in him.
Taking his hand out of her jeans, he tugged at them. Getting the message, she lifted her hips off the bed and he pulled the jeans off. With a satisfied smile, he made to take off her lilac panties.
“One of the men.”
A hoarse voice resonated through the air. Mr. Wyatt paused in his actions and stared down at her.
“ Did you say something?” He asked.
“No.” She replied. “Why?”
“I thought I heard,” He paused and shook his head. “Never mind.”
He reached down to resume his earlier actions when the voice came back in full force.
“One of the men.
Where your fate lies.
It shall happen then.
You are sacrifice.”
Mr. Wyatt shrieked as he jumped off the bed in horror. He looked around the room but he didn’t see anything.
“Ted?” Kate sat up the bed and stared intently at him.
“Didn’t you hear that?” He asked frantically as he brought his attention to her.
“No.” She shook her head. “Ted, what’s the matter with you?”
Mr. Wyatt opened his mouth to respond. Before he could, however, the voice was heard again. This time it was a whisper to his ear.
“Sacrifice.”
“Who’s there?” Mr. Wyatt jumped and looked beside him. There was no one there.
Kate had dressed up fully now. A scowl was visible on her face.
“I don’t know what this is, Ted, but it’s not funny at all. Not one bit.” She hissed.
“I’m not joking.” He replied. “Believe me, there is someone here.”
“Oh?” She folded her arms in mock fashion. “Someone besides us? This should be intriguing. May I ask who?”
Her answer manifested immediately. Unfortunately, only Mr. Wyatt could see it. His eyes went wide in horror as the hooded figure appeared in a puff of smoke beside Kate. The figure pointed at him and let out a laugh.
“Bloody hell!” Mr. Wyatt cried out. “Kate get away from that thing!”
“What thing?” Kate looked around, confused.
“That thing in black. It’s right there! Right beside you!”
Kate’s confused expression deepened as she stared beside her and still didn’t see anything. Her countenance changed to worry. The hooded figure however folded it’s arms in amusement.
“Simple ancient one.” It cackled. “She cannot see me. She is not one of the men. You are one of the men. You are sacrifice.”
Those menacing words sent a chill to the spine of Mr. Wyatt. He swiftly reached into his pocket to grab his phone. He needed to call for help. The police. Julian. Anyone. The figure watched as he pulled out his phone. Although it was hard to decipher it’s expression due to the dark void beneath the veil, the two white tiny lights which served as eyes twinkled, reflecting amusement.
Mr. Wyatt soon dialed the police. Before his phone could ring, it exploded, startling him and Kate who had been silent till that moment. He looked at the now burnt device in disbelief.
The figure shook it’s head.
“ Do you now see the futility of your actions?” It growled. “ Your fate is inevitable.”
The figure swiftly charged forward and ran through Mr. Wyatt in a puff of smoke.
That night, nothing was heard except the screams of terror from Kate as she witnessed a devastating sight.

Absolute Power
A story about a teenager named Aarav trying to find his place in the world, while trying to make it a better place to live. NOTE: Please remember the word 'TRYING'. Guys I have edited the prologue and uploaded it after I uploaded the fourth chapter. Although the story hasn't changed much, I have tried to make it flow smoother. Added a few more details to the life of Aarav and stuff like that. Might wanna take a look at it. P.S. - Guys this is my first story. I am trying to learn English better but since I don't have enough money for books, courses or tutors, so your criticism and support will have to do. This is my first time, so please be gentle. P.P.S. - I selected harem in tags because generally people who like it tend to be more chill. Right now I have a rough sketch till the second volume and there are only two female leads.

The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.
