INT. APARTMENT - NIGHT

FREEZE FRAME: A twenty year-old woman, Sasha, on the bed drawing.

UNFREEZE.

Sasha sits in her room drawing on a note pad, bruises on her arms, a cut on her lip. She hears the DOOR to the apartment open. A look of fear crosses her face as she moves her note pad under the pillow. It’s the drawing of a demon in a cop uniform.

She hears more voices and starts getting more nervous, she sits up on the edge of her bed. In comes her father, flecks of blood cover his face and hands. He holds the dark vial and she grimaces. He also has another small bottle of whiskey.

SASHA

Poppa, you’re home early from work. I thought you were working late tonight?

Lincoln smiles.

LINCOLN

Funny thing about collecting debts and putting the hurt on people, always takes less time than ya think. The moment you break something on them, that green they owe seems to come real quick.

She eyes the vial and the whiskey.

His eyes turn to furnaces.

FREEZE FRAME: Thomas kneels next to a bed praying while his mother, Hecate, looks deathly ill in her bed. The camera moves in and --

UNFREEZE.

The shot widens out revealing Idris standing like a statue near the door, her head bowed in respect.

Five more years pass across the map. As they do, more vignettes overlap each other.

EXT. VIGNETTES

All shot noir, graphic novel look.

- Teenagers living on streets, forlorn looks. A small girl is approached by a cruel looking man wearing a clown face. There is fear on the little girl’s face.

The map of the City of Blood is now clear of images through all parts of the city already visited. The targeting reticle moves to the northeast part of the city highlighting a section called The Bricks.

A FREEZE FRAME appears of...

INT. CLUB - NIGHT

A girl, MUSE, singing in a club.

UNFREEZE.

The club is packed. Dark lighting, trance dance music. Most people are provocatively dressed in a neo-noir, cyber-punk sexy style. Lots of leather and cleavage and men with no shirts or body tight shirts.

They all grind on each other while others stay in corners doing thrash with their inhalers and brightly colored drinks.

Sasha spins through the crowd dancing, wearing a dress that barely covers anything, a slit down side and gossamer. She eyes different men in the crowd before she nails one GUY at the far end of the bar.

The camera zeroes in on an expensive looking watch and expensive looking shoes. This man exudes money. Sasha zeroes in on him paying for drinks with a Platinum card. She smiles and moves towards him.

She only moves about two feet before her arm is grabbed and she is YANKED back. She comes face to face with MONSTER COCK, a cyber-punkish brute inhaling Thrash and looking at her like a shark. His hand tightens hard on her arm as he leers. His name is printed on his torn shirt.

Sasha runs her hands over the Altar to the Goddess and the stains of blood on the floor and altar. It has lit candles around the small carved statue of three faces merged into each other, one young, one middle age and one old.

Thomas looks at her, his hood now down, from across the room as he leans against a wall.

SASHA

I’ve heard your story and now you’ve heard mine.

THOMAS

I am sorry to know what you have told me of your father.

She looks at him with a smile.

SASHA

Thomas looks nervous but quickly shakes it.

THOMAS

As you wish.

INT. THOMAS'S HOUSE - BEDROOM - NIGHT

Sasha looks at a perfectly made and cleaned bedroom, very sparse. She looks at Thomas.

SASHA

Show me the blade you killed with.

He looks at her and slowly pulls out the ornate knife he has had all his life, his mother’s knife, another blade handle shows when he pulls it. She walks over and grabs it from him, studying it, blood still on it’s edge.

She cuts her own hand. He steps forward, but she waves him back. She walks towards him and wipes her bloody hand over his face.

SASHA

Get into bed.

Thomas looks at her in fear not knowing how to react.

SASHA

You serve the daughters of the Goddess, is that not so?

He nods.

SASHA

Get into bed.

JUMP CUT TO:

INT. THOMAS’S HOUSE - BEDROOM - NIGHT

Sasha is leaning into Thomas, scantily clothed, just having had sex. She cuts Thomas’s arm.

He looks at her with fear and confusion.

THOMAS

GFX: Map focused on Shadow’s Down where Thomas's house is, then further out to the full map.

Several vignettes follow, overlapping each other onto the map. These are shot surreal, avant-garde...drug daze.
