《Suffocate My love》Chapter 55

Today the students were attending this lessons in a lab two since this place like the other lab has equipment that the sect masters can use to demonstrate their teachings.
In the school there are five buildings dedicated to chemical cultivation. Two labs, one normal looking classroom, two storerooms for chemicals and one for storage of extra fragile chemical cultivation equipment.
The labs are labeled lab 1 and lab two. These places similar just that lab one has extra equipment meaning it's where dangerous chemicals are handled and prepared, usually not for classroom but for actual practice outside. Despite this students can still go in there to get a feel of the place.
The labs have a large slate just like the simulation room. The slate is placed at the fore-front of the room. It's a main use is for demonstrations
For the rest of the class room there are six such smaller slates , three pushed to each side. For each one there are four stools and there is usually some hollowed region on the table where for disposing some things as this hollow part is connected to a drainage pipe like the main slate .
The drainage pipe leads to somewhere that the chemicals are neutralize before actually being discarded
" your assignment today is to find out what properties this plant has that enables it be among the others", Emair told them before he turned to Jakhyer who was pre-occupied with pounding the leaf.
Emair was standing to the side of the main slate while Jakhyer was behind it.
The students followed his eyes and they looked to the man at work. He seemed so focused in pounding the drug but can they really blame him. All ingredients have to be pounded to a smart smooth consistency because it's easy to deduce the correct measurements if everything is in the same state. And that accuracy is the most important step after identifying the ingredients. Otherwise everything is just easy afterwards
" This leaf looks exactly like what one would expect but there is a unique scent to it. It is impossible to avoid inhaling this but what's bad is inhaling this as a wolf. Don't ever use this in the presence of completely transformed wolves ", he answered smoothly and the wolves were quick to note it down.
" Why?", Jon raised his hand and quickly asked when Emair gave him permission.
Jakhyer raised his eyes from the mixture and looked at Joln like he had insulted him but then again his face always looks like he has been offended.
Emair answered on Jakhyer s behalf
" wolves are magical creatures and the use of magical remedies can and always affects them in someway or the other",
" But aren't these chemicals used for negative energy only", asked a wolf sitting next to Joln ,clearly curious.
" What is the difference between negative and good energy?", Jakhyer asked while looking at Joln.
" Is there a similarity?", He asked clearly trying to intimidate Jakhyer.
His voice sounded like he is trying to question the extent of Jakhyer s knowledge.
Joln is nice ..sometimes, but when he is not nice it really shows and he seldom does very little to cover his annoyance that tends to be cloaked with arrogance and this shows just how much.
Everyone kept quiet as Joln looked at Jakhyer like he wants to tell him to get out of class if he can't even answer a simple question. Usually at this point Emair should tell Joln to behave but Joln didn't do anything wrong except that his tone is very aggressive.

" There are many similarities which is why we are capable of cultivating the 'negative ' energy . That also means there are few differences. As such it should not come as a surprise that chemicals for ying energy can affect yang core", Emair answered.
" Sect master Cai, what is the main difference that cultivation is based on ", Joln called Jakhyer.
" The use of the energy is the big decider", Jakhyer answered him as nonchalant as he possibly could. He then lowered his eyes back to the pounding
Joln knows what that means but he just feels like Jakhyer is vaguely answering him .
" Sect master Tian, so that means that the conversion of the energy is the main concept here", Joln answered very much annoyed by Jakhyer s answers.
Emair nodded.
This explanation is by far the most accurate they came to the reason why chemical cultivation uses the kind of chemicals they use.
They assume and continue to prove that the reason why negative energy exists is because good energy is used to do bad deeds and the further and more frequently that the bad deeds are done the more bad energy progresses to form
It's a stereotypical explanation but it's the only one that exists
But if one uses the books of cultivation and tries to link what they say plus this worshiped guess,it's safe to conclude that there could potentially exist one type of badness that is caused by two things.
Tracing all the way back to the existence spirit creatures.
Wolves naturally drink or consume human pneuma to survive..When a magical beast is about to die, its core starts to slowly come together or crumble .. When that core is small, it is then possible for it to be moved to an illegible sect master.
However at times due to some reasons ,the core can just get deactivated at the spot for example when the animal suddenly dies, without going through the process of having its core reduce.
When this happens , the core is turned off with a huge amount of energy within it and therefore since energy can't be destroyed, the creature becomes what is called the living dead and the case of a wolf spirit creatures, it becomes a 'fox' spirit creature.
This fox will need two types of energy to stay alive . That of the human because it used to be a wolf and that of a wolf to fuel its wolf that will feed on the human. The phenomena behind drinking the wolf is that the physical mechanics that it used when was alive no longer control its appetite but due to its nature, the only thing that will keep it alive is human pneuma which they no longer have appetite for.. in conclusion as a fox it's not possible to absorb human pneuma unaided by the wolf pneuma
The question would be why does the ability to absorb human stop after death, why does the appetite suddenly disappear.
For the same reason dead humans can't feel hunger, these don't have appetite but they need to feed to keep alive so that is why a fox feeds on both sides of the coin
It's worth noting that because the fox used to be wolf and was bonded at some point to human, it also has the ability to take human form but that goes to a certain extent.
The fox is dead so they can't form a complete human, they can only make fragments, hologram or a shadow but never a complete human figure ,never!! So most of the time they hunt as hideous wolf forms that are very lethal.

In the case of werewolves , the same is true . And there is yet another way in which a werewolf can become a wolf. And that thing is conversion of energy
This second thing only affects werewolves. Therefore it is not recorded in the books of cultivation except of course in the journal.
Since there is no distinction between good and bad energy when it's inside an organism but hints can be used to guess which organism have which type of energy..
For example bandits and prisoners may have that bad kind of energy .
So some wolves can chose to absorb this kind of energy and only this kind of energy. Progression of time when the bad energy concentration in their bodies increase, their core begins to assimilate the bad energy and their 'good' energy . With time the core now begins to have only bad energy as it is the only one being brought in.
And as the wolf keeps having that type of energy they get addicted to it as that is what their core demands thus that's is what they will only feed on.
As a result they become black core creatures and these are the types of creatures that cultivation schools were formed to remove.
The question now is why would wolves want to absorb this kind of energy if it is detrimental to them.
Absorbing the energy is invoked by two things .
One, everytime different energies meet they create a surge that is like a jolt of electricity and that jolt is very addictive
The other reason is that the wolf core naturally derelicts. When it disintegrates, the jolt is the only thing that can help suspend the disintegration .
However it is a temporary solution and needs to be continuously intook to keep the wolf alive but then when that happens the wolf would have too much bad energy plus the frequent jolting that is like setting an explosion inside the body . Due to the above ,they will most definitely die but then they would have a core saturated with black energy .
Henceforth they become a fox and then follow the same cycle of hunting werewolves and humans, just that they would be more powerful as they reached the land of the dead with bad energy. And these kinds of foxes are the worst because they are incredible difficult to fight and have a lot of strong power to output.
It's great being a wolf and all but there are really so many factors that can cause a core to decrepit .
Don't creatures have flexible cores? Why are they subtle to easily fall sick?
If the wolf is the strongest and had survived, why does its core disintegrate so simply.
That is the main mystery that not even the books of cultivation know.
But according to the journal, 'Spirit creatures are strong but not werewolves'
A cultivator moves his core to the animal and keeps feeding it with energy. When the cultivator dies ,the animals core begins to shrivel and is then moved to the next human. And then it start to grow again but this human becomes subtle to shriveling otherwise they would live forever.
The reason being the owner of the core is no more alive and they are the ones who could do a lot to help with keeping the creatures core alive so now that they are no more, no one can do that .
The worst part is that the human inherited the shriveling core and they pass it to their offsprings and one thing lead to the other . Now the whole nation practically has ticking time bombs inside of them.
In conclusion , when a wolves dies they become a normal corpse.Jolting and sudden death will make them a corpse. When the wolf dies with a core packed with energy they become a fox . A fox has insatiable appetite because its homeostasis mechanism are disactive. So they feed on humans and wolves. The difference between the first way of becoming a 'fox' for the werewolves and spirit creatures is the cause. Spirit creatures can just die without going through shriveling while for werewolves the disintegration is skipped..
The second way of becoming a fox is intake of bad energy to suspend a hereditary phenomena
The melting of cores for both these creatures is inevitable and generally very alike. But the onset of each shriveling is different. Spirit creatures begin when the master dies while wolves do so after they reach a certain age that differes from every household and is one generation heriditation . Meaning grandparents don't have the same onset has their grandchildren. So successful genetic mapping is impossible. It's all up to the celestial court
This is the scary truth and it will only get scarier.
Jakhyer transferred the goods into a flask and and he took it and started to add other chemicals and they watched him.
For the next three hours , Emair explained the procedure and repercussions while consistently referring them to their textbooks
He then gave the students some groupwork. he then told them to hurry and get done ,not forgetting leave the chemicals behind and they should remember to wash their hands.
" Dispose your coats in the bins outside", Emair told them as they were heading outside.
Emair remained with Jakhyer who was now taking measurements of the pounded leaf.
" Don't let him get to you", he advised him. Though he is saying this ,he is not sure if he is affected since it's a habitual thing for Joln to challenge Jakhyer,
" who?", He asked, almost rhetorically. After saying that he turned to the shelves behind him to choose another apparatus that looked like a petri-dish.
Emair smirked at him and he turned to leave the lab. He should just let the perfectionist be ..
As for Jakhyer , he has to pick the right one but the worst part is that they look the same to him. At times like these he really wishes that Emair would label these things because he is really bad at guessing. Now he has to look for something he practically can't estimate its size
" This seems interesting ", someone spoke near the enterance of the classroom
Jakhyer turned and looked at the visitor who was leaning against the door-frame with arms crossed. His eyes were browsing the stations that had chemicals changing colors.
He looked like he had been standing there for quite a while
Jakhyer gawked at him
Adrian let his eyes fall so that he half-looks at Jakhyer and he nodded for respect.
Adrian lowered his arms and crossed them behind his back. Afterwards he walked to one of the slates closest to Jakhyer . On his journey there he inspected the flasks like its his first time seeing them
Jakhyer glared at him and could not understand what his intentions were
" Wearing a safely is mandatory ", Jakhyer told him as softly as he possibly could but that was very futile. He could tell he was not listening.
" Adrian ", Jakhyer whispered
Concurrently that word left his lips, Adrian turned to face Jakhyer. The moment their eyes met, Adrian s hand started to develop a tingle that produced tiny streaks of red sparks, compelling him to squeeze his fist

Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

A lazy, wingless, blabbermouth of an imp, smearing goat’s blood all over the crystal – that is the unpleasant view this new Heart wakes up to. “I’m your Prime!” the imp says. The Heart reluctantly agrees. In an unknown world, filled with dangers, it needs every help it can get – even if said help is not…optimal. Must you hunt me so fiercely? Why are you doing this to me?” The Heart does not understand their motives. Perhaps its lack of understanding has something to do with the fact the Heart has no physical limits nor material needs. Why take it from someone, when you can simply will it forth? Just pay for it with mana rent! To make things worse, the real dangers are not from above, nor from below, but from within…
