What do I mean by curious state of mind

Everyone can relate to a time they were burning from the inside so fiercely, that a question may explode rather abruptly! Bubbling curiousness and painstaking amounts of anxious thoughts can lead to confusion, doubt, and generally unsatisfactory results in conversation if left unanswered. So what is curiosity, what is it used for, and what are some generally good ways to develop a curious brain. When I mention a “curious state of mind” I’m referencing the moment you think so quickly about a topic mentioned, you’re realization of not understanding the fore mentioned topic and the questions that develop in your brain. The moment we make quick decisions and jump to conclusions based off of OUR knowledge and not what might be the correct information has most definitely made me act a fool, can you relate?

Why do we need curiosity

By nature curious thoughts will surface every day, sometimes every hour and every few minutes we might consider something heavily and ask ourselves more questions before relaying those questions to someone else with more information, or even a quick google search. Why does the brain consider these questions with enthusiasm, interest, and a feeling of restlessness when something of relative interest is left unanswered? What I have found to bring interest, attention and apt emotionally charged enthusiasm to conversations has been asking questions of others. These can be their music interests, hobbies, their work (if you’re inclined to listen to bs) or even who they like in Hollywood. Questions are a very punctual way to learn new knowledge, when I can I find out what people are into, so I may experience something they like, music for instance I personally love to look through others playlists and liked songs to get a feel for what or who I’m dealing with. Who knows, maybe I’ll enjoy their taste enough to incorporate it into my taste.

How can we further develop curious behavior

How can we as humans, further develop our curiosity? When we live through life some of us may believe we know everything, to the point of relying on only ourselves for the answers, some people need guidance from mentors, family and witty or intellectual individuals. When in fact, the little details that slip us by make up the lost information between individuals, nobody has a perfect picture of a topic until we start asking questions. I personally would appreciate a more inquisitive world, full of individual, unique people with the opportunity to learn from other perspectives, and how can this be accomplished? Simply by asking questions daily, when you inquire directly, interest is formed, not always in your mind alone, but the singular or multiple people you are asking. Some days I ask questions that I care nothing about, but I ask them to get others thinking, sometimes I ask my peers questions I positively know neither of us understand only to come together in our own understanding, collectively learning together. To get another moving, or even yourself to move mentally and physically, thinking and acting on those thoughts, the restless brain has the desire to learn more, and all that needs to happen is our change in the questions and curiosity we take time to truly consider, how we ask them and if those answers are satisfactory enough.

Thesis

I want to open up the inquisitive minds of my peers and implore people to develop a more curious state of mind for their personal lives, hobbies and day to day experiences.
