In a separate domain, where all demons reside, a castle can be seen at the center. The castle is home to the royal blood, and only the one with the King's direct bloodline can live there. There are currently four princes that reside in the castle.
The four princes have always been battling each other in the dark for the throne, even the King knew of this, but in the end, he said nothing and let them do whatever they wanted. The King firmly believed that whoever comes out triumph out of the four, deserves the right to inherit the throne.
Inside the castle, the second prince was now sitting on his bed, awaiting the good news from his army. The army of dark figures was precisely the one he had been training for special missions. One could say that he had absolute confidence in them.
'They should arrive soon now, I'll soon have that item in my hand.'
The Second Prince was now smiling like a hungry beast. After waiting for 3 months his patience has been wavering every day.
'Once I have it, I can start the ritual to obtain that item.'
The Second Prince was amidst his thoughts when sounds were coming from his door.
Creak!
"Reporting Your majesty, we've failed to capture the two and now trying to tail them again." The messenger is now sweating furiously after giving the second prince the bad news.
"Hey, say that again. Failed? Do you really think that's what I want to hear?"
The Second Prince was so furious now that he might decapitate his entire army when they get back. Struggling to keep himself calm, he had to lock his hand on his other wrist to stop him from killing the messenger. His bloodlust has already reached its peak, causing the maids to faint, and even the messenger is struggling to get a hold of himself.
"Y-your majesty, don't worry the two were already on their last leg, it's only a matter of time before they get captured."
Hearing this the Second Prince's mood lightened up a bit. "I'll give you a day, and in each hour that I don't see them in front of me, I'll kill one of you." Hearing this even the guard was frightened by the Second Prince's heartless decision.
"Y-yes I understand sir, I will relay this message to your army."
The messenger soon disappears, leaving the angry Prince that's still trying to calm down alone in the room. The unconscious maids were waking up one after another and soon left in fear of the prince killing them out of anger.
'Hahaha. I swear I'll let you two taste hell when I get my hand on you two.'

In a remote village inside the Human domain, there was a couple outside playing with a boy that looks no older than four years old.

"Hey Dad, look I caught a rabbit!"
"Zin! How many times have I told you not to go out alone?!"
Yes, the baby boy was precisely Zin, the abandoned baby that the couple took in and raised. His father Reynold, still hasn't told him about this yet. Even when his wife Erza insists, his reply was the same, saying it's not time yet.
"Come in Zin! Dinners ready!"
Zin ran to the door with the rabbit clutched in his hand as he excitedly opens the door. Erza was dumbfounded at this scene but still, let it slide away. Meanwhile, Reynold was sitting at the table laughing at the two conversations, as they walked toward him
"Dad, can you tell me some more stories about this world?"
"Hehe, seems like you're really interested. Alright, I'll first explain to you some common knowledge in this world."
"Humph, eat your food before it's cold or no stories."
"Haha, it's fine Zin seems to be interested. Ok, let's see where to start... Oh right! do you wanna know about other races other than humans?
Zin was dumbfounded after hearing that. 'There were other races? Aren't humans the only race?' His expression was easily read by his father.
"Alright, let me first explain to you how we humans, view them."
In this world, the strong rule supreme, while the weak can only hide in fear. There are 4 known domain to the humans which is Elves, Orcs, Demons, and Dwarves. The Human domain was first found 20,000 years ago, and so far they have only discovered 4 other domains.
There have been many sightings of different races infiltrating the Human domain. The most common ones were Shadow Lizard. Once mature, their body would almost be identical to a human body. Just like their name they normally erase their presence, and hide in the shadow, waiting for the prey.
Shadow Lizard is considered as a lesser race since their combat power is relatively weak. The 3 stages are based on the race's combat power. The first one is the Lesser race, the second is the Imperial race, and the last one is the Mythical race.
The Imperial consists of powerful and intelligent beings like the Elves. The Elves are naturally born with affinity tied to the forest and earth. They are also highly intelligent and some were even able to be considered as a Mythical race after evolving.
Elves are one of the races that can evolve after reaching a certain point. There are also outside factors like Soul crystal, that can be used to evolve even further. Many Elves had been caught wandering outside the forests and into the human domain before.
They were either sold as slaves or used as experiments. The Elf is a beautiful race, especially the female gender. Because of this many slave owners sought for an elf slave to satisfy their desires. This caused the Humans and Elves to be on very bad terms with each other.

One of the only races that had been identified as a Mythical race was the Dragons. There was once a young dragon that came over to the Human domain out of curiosity but was oppressed by the humans. After trying to talk sense into the human the Dragon realized that it was futile, and started to retaliate.
The fury of a dragon was no joke, they were known for destroying lands just to make a nest for their eggs. With the Dragon now retaliating, the Humans had no way of defending themselves until the five grand elders came out. The moment the elders came out the Dragon was immediately suppressed and killed. Before dying the Human race has tasted the fury of the Dragon and has learned their prowess.
Seeing how a single Dragon had destroyed 1/4 of the major city has left many citizens in fear. The Dragon race was labeled as a Mythical race ever since that day.
"So is Dragon the strongest race?"
"Haha, we don't know since there are many more races, that have yet shown themselves."
"Is our Human race considered a Mythical race?"
"No, we Humans are the imperial race. Sure, there had been many powerful figures that emerged from the Human race. But, the majority of us are only average compared to the Mythical race. The only thing that had kept us in the Imperial race, is our potential."
"Potential?"
"Yes, we have the ability to rise even above the Mythical race and reign supreme."
"Ahem. That was only stated in the records of our ancestors, there's no evidence that we have that type of potential."
"C'mon Erza, don't discourage him."
"I'm only stating the truth nothing else."
The three have already finished their dinner at this point.
"Alright! It's your bedtime now!"
Erza carried Zin whom is now full of curiosity over and put him in his bed.
"Can you at least tell me how to get strong like you two first?"
"Hmm, okay I'll teach you the basics of magic first."
"First of all not many are blessed by mana, the ratio of a person being blessed by mana is 1 out of every 1,000. Usually one can start using mana when they turn 12. You would need a mana stone to check if your body has the right conditions to use mana."
"How do you know what type of magic you can use?"
"Ahem! Let me finish I was just getting to that point. When you start infusing mana into yourself, you'll be able to materialize an item or element."
"You can even materialize an object?"
"That's right! That's what we call Soul Magic."
"Soul Magic?"
"En. Unlike normal humans, people that are blessed with mana, are ones that were born with it. To be exact, our soul is the container that holds the mana."
"So is the object that we materialize tied to our soul?"
"Yes, that's how we use to differentiate one's potential, by their soul object which we called them Aetheric weapons."
"Aetheric weapons? So is anything that materializes from our soul, weapons?"
"Haha, sadly no, some can be useless and can only assist in our daily lives. Don't worry though, I'm sure my boy will get a powerful element or Aetheric weapon."
Zin was now very excited at this new piece of information he just got, but soon he turned worried.
"What's wrong?"
"Doesn't that means it's all down to my luck? My fate?"
"En. Your right it's all fate, but don't fright have confidence in yourself. Oh right! I forgot to mention there are also ruins, where you can get artifacts from. These artifacts vary in many types they can be for defense, offense, stealth, and even Aetheric weapon."
"Are there any other ways to obtain an Aetheric weapon?"
Zin was now trying to get his father to spit out more information for him, but Reynold doesn't seem to notice this.
"Haha, seems like you're really not confident about yourself. The second way is to use a Soul Crystal which you can get from Guardians."
"Guardians?"
"That's right, they are fierce creatures that guard the final destination of a ruin. They are no doubt extremely dangerous and only as many as 6 had been defeated till now. The process of using Soul Crystal is also very risky, since the amount of mana going to the host will be extraordinarily higher than when kids awaken at the age of 12."
"The final way to obtain an Aetheric weapon is through inheriting it. Many nobles have secret arts that enable them to transfer their Aetheric weapon to their heir."
"How did they obtain the secret arts?"
"Ruins."
This information to Zin made him realize how big the world was.
'Will I be able to get a powerful Aetheric weapon as well?'
"Alright, it's your bedtime and I need to go back before Erza kills me."
As Reynold was walking out of Zin's room, Zin started to process and organize all the pieces of information he had just gotten.
'Wait can one receive both an Aetheric weapon and element?! Why did dad leave so soon I still have so many questions! Welp! I guess I would have to try to bait out more information from him tomorrow and practice magic."
If anyone else knew what Zin was thinking they would all think he is crazy. The youngest ever one to awaken mana was 9, but he already wants to try at the age of 4!

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
