《Story Ideas and Beginnings》Wandering Ghost

Pain, it is something most living beings experience at least once in their lives.

For self-aware beings there are even more ways to feel pain than for the ones without.

I felt pain, a lot of it, not only physically but also in my soul, and this is the very reason as to why I am what I am now, a ghost.

My physical body was left to rot while my soul and spirit refused to move on.

The process of becoming a ghost is taxing on the soul and spirit of the individuum, some things have to be sacrificed, like in my case.

After I regained my awareness as a ghost it didn't take me long to realize what I had lost.

Looking at the bright full moon and bathing in his silvery radiance my turquoise, half transparent body sways from an unseen wind.

A tattered robe covers me from head to toe, not that I still have feet but hey, while I hover a short distance above the grass covered ground.

My form does not reveal any special or unique characteristics, I can't even be sure I was truly a human.

The transformation into a ghost robbed me off my memories of who I was while alive, I do not know what I was, but form the memories that remained it was not all too hard to guess that I was a human, but I can't know for sure.

Everything related to friends and family was also lost.

Really, I'm not even sure why I refused to move on anymore, it must have something to do with my identity, family, or friends, but now after the transformation all those memories are gone.

Turning my faceless head away from the starry sky and the shining moon I let my gaze wander over the countless hills and valleys.

Its been two years since then and after the first year I left the area in which I awoke in order to travel the lands.

Through the day I had to hide from the golden sun light as it weakens me to the point of me losing consciousness, but it didn't kill or purify me, it only knocked me out for a whole week.

And yes, I tried.

Without a sound or disturbing even a single blade of grass I continue moving south, pulling my tattered robe along behind me.

It was barely midnight meaning that I still got a lot of time before the sun rises and I have to use more covered paths to journey.

Over the year I found some ways to travel around even trough the day, but they are inconvenient and sometimes unusable.
