《Story Ideas and Beginnings》Mad scientist

„It isn't easy to be a mad scientist. You have to always achieve stuff that others don't or refuse to achieve. "
An old voice with a slight mechanical undertone mumbles inside a pitch black room.
"But the worst part of it is that you can't be too good in what you are doing, there have to be flaws or intentional flaws in my case, so that a unlucky soul gets tangled in the strings of fate. "
His rambling gets interrupted by a clanking sound of metal meeting metal.
Slowly the sound comes closer and closer, till it comes from directly above the place where the old voice rang out.
"For the last time! YOU ARE NOT A SPIDER!"
The old voice shouts at the place where the metallic sound disappeared.
With a screeching sound, a giant metallic maw full of chainsaws reveals itself and bits down on the place where the old man's voice originates.
The maw closes around empty air and it starts to look around in confusion.
Before it could move away from it position a giant arm made out of an amalgamation of mechanical parts and black flesh grabs it in its hand.
The maw struggles, but the arm doesn't give in even a bit and slowly tears the maw off from the roof.
Strange tentacles with claws on their ends reveal themselves from underneath the giant maw, these are its legs, the metallic sound is produced from within the maw.
With a twist of its wrist, the arm throws the maw out of the room into a dark corridor.
"What a shit head." The old voice curses as the grotesque arm slowly sinks back into the round.
"Sigh, good job Winny. "
The old voice says to the disappearing arm.
"Oh, right! Winny could you be a fine lad and go ask Melany to turn the light back on? The dark causes all these tin heads to think that I can't see them, pfft, do they think I'm an idiot, there are things called night vision goggles. "

After asking the arm to deliver the message the voice starts again with its rambling.
Not long after the arm disappears the light goes on and illuminates the rooms and corridors.
Inside the room from where the old man's voice comes from, many strange looking machines are revealed and on top of one of them lays the body of an old man.
"These dumb things never bother to check what's on top of the tables, they search under or behind them, but no, not on top."
"At time like these I'm happy that those things aren't any masterpieces of mine. "
With swift movements, the old man jumps up onto his feet and onto the ground where a small ball rolls up to him.
The voice of the old man comes out of the small ball and only stopped once the old man turned it off.
"I should go down to Melany´s console and upload some more rainbow cat videos, that should teach her a lesson. "
With fast steps the old man walks down the corridor where the wired maw thing was thrown by the giant hand.
The maw was nowhere to be seen, but the old man doesn't seem bothered by it in the slightest.
"Slippery bastards, hiding in my facility and not even doing their job right, I would have burned this whole thing to the ground years ago if not for occasional surprises like Winny, Steven and Yami."
His rambling seems unceasing, but at the mentioning of the three names his voice gets a lot softer.

Death By Protagonist
Donavan has made his living by wading through hundreds of stories in search of the quality few he and his firm believe to be worth publishing. After a strange twist of fate, he gets trapped inside the fantasy book of a particularly campy and amateur author. There he will have to navigate a world built on wish fulfillment, power fantasies, and fanservice in order to fix the story from the inside out if he ever wishes to leave. But can he bring himself to play the many roles necessary to manipulate and guide the characters to a satisfying conclusion? Authors Note: Death By Protagonist is meant to be simultaneously a satire of, and love letter to the isekai/portal fantasy genre. It both makes fun of and embraces many tropes of the genre such as harems, explicit sexual content, OP protagonists, and other things many people might think of as "trashy." If that doesn't sound like your thing, you've been warned, but I hope you'll give it a shot anyway. Update Schedule: Plan is to at least put out one new chapter every week, hopefully two.

This was ment to be the self-published 'real' book of Binary Progression; turns out there isn't much of a market for this kind of story... that and it sucked! What’s worse, JohnWillStab, the number-one edgelord on the server is somehow ending up in positions of power despite literally being an undead rogue with evil magic tentacles!
