《life after surviving a disaster》Insight Into Everything

The new voting started as scheduled, and this time there was no change. It is still one of the two options, but the next two options surprised everyone.
1. Dong Kui must smash the luxury car his father just bought.
2. Wen Zhu must jump off a building to commit suicide.
"What is this option?" I can't help but look at the group options in front of me and say. These two options are unimaginable, but there is no doubt that the second one is more cruel. This means that Wen Zhu must commit suicide. The first item is just the loss of a car.
"What's going on?" Wen Zhu looked at the options in front of him with a pale face and said. This time, the group voting was different from the past. For the first time, there was a cruel option that must die.
Other people also whispered, and their eyes secretly looked at Wen Zhu. Wen Zhu hurriedly stood up and said, "you must not choose me, or I will die."
"Don't worry, we won't choose you."
"Yes, it's killing people."
A group of people were talking, and Fu Ling also stepped onto the platform. She said seriously: "this time, it seems that we can only vote for Dong Kui. There are no other options."
The students in the audience also nodded. This time, the options are not so difficult to choose. Most people tend to choose Dong Kui. After all, even if he did, he would only have lost a car. Their family is so rich that they shouldn't care about a car.
But just then, Dong Kui said with a gloomy face, "I don't agree."
"Dong Kui, even if people choose you, they will only lose a car. If they choose the second item, Wen Zhu will die." Fu Ling said angrily.
"So what?" Dong Kui sneered and looked arrogantly at the back of the class: "anyway, people will die sooner or later."
"How can you talk like that? After all, he is your classmate." Fu Ling said angrily.
"Cut the crap. I tell you, my father recently bought a Bentley, which is more than ten million yuan. If I smash it, my father will beat me to death." Dong Kui roared.

"Even so, can't a man's life compare to a car?" Fu Ling retorted angrily.
"Yes!" Dong Kui said a word that shocked everyone. His face was gloomy, he looked at Wen Zhu and said, "I know the situation of your family. Your father is working outside. Your mother died long ago. Now your grandmother lives with you. Even if you die, it's no big deal."
"At any rate, you are going too far in saying that." I stood up and roared.
"Haha, it's too much. In fact, everyone knows that this vote will definitely die. Even if you don't die today, you will die tomorrow. In that case, why don't you sell your tickets for a good price?" Dong Kui sneered. That face is full of twists.
For a moment, the students around were stunned. Unexpectedly, Dong Kui said so.
"I'm not that great. Wen Zhu is not my friend and has a bad relationship with me. Why should I smash my father's new car? As for classmates, this relationship is nothing." Dong Kui kept smiling.
The students under the stage began to think, one by one, from the initial indignation to the later reflection. Dong Kui is right. Wen Zhu has nothing to do with him. Why should he risk being beaten by his father to do such things that harm others and do not benefit himself.
"Dong Kui, you can't do this. It's a big deal. I'll give it back to you in the future." Wen Zhu stood up and said timidly.
Dong Kui heard his words as if he had heard a joke. He sneered: " what do you take? How can you buy a 10 million Bentley and return it to me with just a few yuan for your meal that day?"
Wen Zhu was speechless for a moment, just as Dong Kui said. His family is not rich, let alone Bentley. He can't even afford a model car.
I looked at Dong Kui with indignation in my eyes. The cruel side of this game is unfolding in front of me at a glance. Dong Kui doesn't care about Wen Zhu's life at all. He cares more about his father's luxury car. For Dong Kui, Wen Zhu's life is worthless.

Other students, though sympathetic to Wen Zhu, did not want to save him.
"From now on, everyone must choose Wen Zhu. Otherwise, he will be the enemy of me. Then I will be merciless." Dong Kui said coldly that his family is rich and powerful.
If anyone dares to offend him, he will definitely beat him up. With his background, he can definitely do it.
"Of course, I won't treat you badly. I'll give 2000 yuan to anyone who chooses Wen Zhu." Dong Kui said again, and the eyes of the students around him lit up.
This is two thousand yuan. All of us are high school students. Except for some of them who are rich and handsome, they basically have no money. The thousand is a huge sum of money for high school students.
"Dong Kui, I will fight with you!" Wen Zhu roared at him. Of course, there is no use at all.
His body is as thin as mine, but Dong Kui is big and round. With just one kick, he was kicked back.
This time, Wen Zhu realized the gap and stopped provoking Dong Kui. But with a crying voice, he said to the students: "don't do this, everyone. I know I'm usually not likable. But I'm your classmate after all. If you vote for me, you're killing me."
As soon as he said this, the students around him hesitated. Although Wen Zhu was unknown in the class, he did not provoke anyone. If they voted for him in this way, these people would have a bad conscience.
"Cut the crap and pretend to be pathetic. Let's vote quickly. I'll give him two thousand if he votes for Wen Zhu. Do what you say." Dong Kui took out a bank card and said.
The students around him hesitated even more.
This is two thousand. For ordinary high school students, it is absolutely an unimaginable number. All this requires only one vote. Anyway, they didn't kill it with their own hands. One vote is two thousand.
Looking at the students around him who were full of hesitation, Dong Kui shouted, "wait for me. I'll go and get the money now."
With that, he took an empty bag, turned and walked out. Opposite our school is the bank. It's really easy for Dong Kui to withdraw money.
After Dong Kui left, Fu Ling hurriedly shouted, "let's vote for Dong Kui quickly."
"Yes, I will vote for Dong Kui right away." I quickly stood up and said. The students around responded one after another, and soon Dong Kui had 13 more votes. But the number of votes has not changed much since then.
"I have already voted for you." I had no choice but to show Wen Zhu my mobile phone. Wen Zhu glanced at it, turned pale and said, "what's going on here? Why are we all unwilling to vote?"
"Hurry up and vote. Dong Kui will be back soon." Fu Ling shouted. But the students around were unmoved. Some people say, "wait a minute. I'll log in to my account."
Others said, "don't look at me. I've already voted."
Looking at the students around me, I had a sneer on my lips. Looking at Wen Zhu, I replied, "it's very simple, because they are waiting for a price."
"For sale?" Wen Zhu said in consternation.
"Yes, when you know your vote is worth two thousand yuan. you won't vote casually." I said reluctantly.
"But don't they know that if they continue to vote, I will die." Wen ZHu said.
"Of course they know, but you should know that if one person votes and kills you, he is the murderer. But if ten or twenty people vote at the same time, the result will be different." I sneered.
"Why?" Wen Zhu asked.
"It's very simple. People all have conformity. Guilt will weaken with the number of people. This is the idea that the law does not blame the public. If a person kills someone, he is the murderer. But if a group of people kill someone, they will feel that they are not the murderer. It is someone else. That's why the more people fight, the more courage they have." I said reluctantly.

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!
