Breanna waited for her brother to leave before turning to the three.

"What are you not saying?" she asked, massaging her aching hand.

"We mean everything we are saying," Harvey said, checking the cables attached to the pads on Tina's chest.

"Harvey," Hana grinned, "Breanna can sense emotions. Plus, she knows if you're lying, telling the whole truth or a part of the truth."

"Oh," Harvey looked at Breanna then, "what's the verdict?"

"What aren't you telling?" Breanna said again.

Harvey sighed before looking between the two women, "What did you two find?"

"Are you stalling?" Breanna asked, narrowing her eyes.

"No," Harvey shook his head, any air of bravado and pretence disappearing in a blink of an eye, "I'm waiting to have what I think confirmed. Ladies?"

Rose motioned for Hana to start before sitting on the stool next to the bed and staring at her sister's face.

"She is not injured in the normal sense of the word," Hana said, "but serious changes are happening."

"Her cell structure seems to be ... adapting to accommodate the babies," Rose whispered.

"Babies?" Breanna looked between the three of them, "plural?"

Harvey turned the monitor of the ultrasound machine toward her. On the screen, she could see the shapes of four tiny forms.

"Four," Breanna murmured, inhaling sharply, "they don't look like they have been there for a week, though."

Hana shook her head, "Without the blood work to confirm," Hana glanced at Harvey, "I would guess about six weeks."

"Unless they are growing fast," Harvey said, "between their needs and her cellular changes, she is sleeping much more than a normal human would at this time."

"What are you saying?" Breanna whispered, "is she going to die?"

"Not if Craig is with her at all times," Jenkins spoke from the doorway.

"How would you know?" Breanna asked.

"My wife died in childbirth along with my triplets," Jenkins said, sadness in his eyes and voice, "I was on assignment for most of her pregnancy. But those who stayed with their loved ones to the end have healthy families today."

"Jenkins," Breanna whispered, "I'm so sorry to hear of your loss."

"It was many years ago," Jenkins smiled, "I blame your sister for what happened. But I will not stand by and see it happen to another man's family."

Breanna nodded, "I'll go and chat with Craig while you're getting her comfortable."

David and Jesse reviewed the five names on the list Breanna had to work with.

"I've looked over everything she has on this table," David said, "I'm not sure how the extraction will work."

"I've tried adding a few views she didn't see," Jesse sighed, "but they still don't work."

"If we are to get those people off that island, we're going to need more people who don't' have emotional triggers," David sighed, scrubbing his hands over his face.

"What is it that keeps those emotional triggers in place?" Jasmine asked as she joined them at the table.

"No restrictions on abilities," Jesse muttered.

"Then why not put those required through the equaliser," Jasmine asked.

"We don't know what that machine can do to us yet," David said, "don't go putting that thought into the heads of the others."

"I would never dream of it," Jasmine grinned a little too innocently, "who is on the list?"

"Breanna and four of Craig's team," Jesse sighed, "not enough to get the job done. Even with the secret entrance or exit."

"Damn," Jasmine muttered, "guess we'll have to get more creative then."

"What do you mean by that?" David asked suspiciously.

"Nothing," Jasmine shrugged, "just stating what we will need to be."

Turning, she walked away from the table. They watched as she climbed the stairs and disappeared from view.

"Why do I have the feeling she is up to something?" Jesse murmured.

"You're not the only one with that feeling," David muttered, "she is one of those women who seem to be capable of literally anything."

"That only spells trouble for others around her," Jesse shook his head, looking down at the table and the problem at hand.

Jasmine grinned as she pressed the play button on the small device attached to her belt and pushed her headphones into her ears. The reception was loud and clear as she listened to everything discussed in the basement while recording it simultaneously. It has worked with her family, and it still does. She could feel that some issues were not addressed while she was around, and she didn't blame anyone. But she needed to know so she could help, and if this was the only way to gather information, being deceptive needed to happen.

She still had the skills she had learnt at her father's mansion. Neither of the men had seen her place the listening device under the table. It was small enough that they may not find it at all. Hopefully, Fiona wouldn't discover it either.

Craig sat, staring blankly into the glass Kyle had pushed into his hands. The sip that Kyle had forced him to take had melted some of the icy in his veins, but it didn't take away the visions of living a life without Tina. Who they were as a couple was so new that neither of them had told anyone. Now she was pregnant and could die because of him. Craig swallowed against the rising bile and tears. Strangely the glass kept being filled up, and he kept sipping.

The door opened, and Breanna moved into the room. Pain twisted in his chest. Was Tina dead already?

"I have an update," Breanna spoke quietly as she sat in a chair opposite him, "do you want to hear it?"

Swallowing hard and preparing for the worst, he nodded.

"Tina is still alive," she said, acknowledging Kyle and Cala joining them, "she is pregnant with four little beings who seem to have been there longer than a week."

Craig frowned at the words but didn't interrupt his sister.

"The success stories have a difference from the unsuccessful," Breanna said, as though he may not like what she had to say.

"Spit it out, little sister," he grunted.

"Those who were successful stayed alongside their better half until delivery," Breanna said quickly, "those who even missed one day lost their entire family."

"Oh my god," Cala gasped, a hand covering her mouth, "how do you know this?"

"Jenkins," Breanna whispered, looking at Cala, "was one of the unsuccessful cases."

"Poor man," Cala breathed, "there is only one route to take. Craig is going to have to stay with her."

Craig stared into his glass, torn between the woman he loved and the task of being a leader in the field of battle.

"Craig," Cala turned to look at him, "surely you're not even considering compromising on Tina's life."

"Cala," Kyle whispered, "don't push."

"Don't push," Cala looked wounded, "this is my sister's life at stake here. He sits there, staring blankly into his drink. Doesn't he even care?"

Cala clamped a hand over her mouth as tears streamed down her cheeks as she ran from the room. Kyle sighed heavily, frowning after her.

"Sorry, man," he said quietly, resting his hand on Craig's shoulder, "I don't envy you the decision but know this. We will cover for you while you take care of your family. However long that takes."

"Thanks," Craig murmured, still staring into his drink.

Craig felt the warmth of Kyles' hand leave his shoulder. Followed the sound of his retreating steps until the door closed, leaving Breanna alone with him.

"Kyle is right," Breanna spoke softly, "whatever time you need ... take it. The position you hold in the Agency is not going anywhere."

Craig nodded, acknowledging her words.

"What is it?" Breanna whispered, "what is it that you're fearful of speaking."

"We were together twice, Bre, both since being here," Craig whispered.

"We've only been here two weeks," Breanna frowned, "those babies look like they are three months along."

"I need to see Tina," Craig finished his drink in one and stood, "I need to see her now."

"Craig," Breanna stood as well, "the other thing I didn't get to say while Cala was here," Breanna cleared her throat. "Tina's cell structure is changing to accommodate carrying the babies."

"Changing how?" Craig started walking; he was getting answers to his questions.

"I'm not certain about that," Breanna said, walking beside him, "Hana may be able to tell you more."

Craig nodded as they moved at a fast pace toward the infirmary.

Valencia stood in the shadows, watching brother and sister walk toward the infirmary. She had been looking for a quiet place to rest her over-sensitive senses when she had heard the conversation. If Craig had to step down for a time until Tina was through this with their four kids, Breanna would need a lot more backup than she currently had.

"What do you think, Birgit?" Valencia murmured, "do we try that equaliser thing?"

"Why not? Perhaps we can be useful then," Birgit answered, "I think they left the door open."

"We are in accord," Valencia giggled as she copied a quote from the pirate movie marathon they had been watching.

"How did Fiona get it going?" Birgit asked.

"I heard Harvey and Jenkins talking," Valencia said, "they think Fiona wandered into the room without knowing what it was, and the machine evaluated her and began working."

"Then let's get this done," Birgit said as they walked into the equaliser, "see you on the other side."

"Yes, you will," Valencia nodded.

"Let's look at those beautiful pictures," Birgit whispered, laying them down on the wall bench, staring at the ceiling as the door closed and the engine began to whir.

Jesse looked up from the table and around the room, "Did you feel that?"

"Feel what?" David frowned, looking around the cave.

"That energy shift," Jesse's frown deepened, "someone is using something or doing something big."

"New ability?" David asked.

"Very new," Jesse nodded, "started in the last two weeks."

"Hectic," David said, "do you get any sleep?"

"Some," Jesse nodded slightly, "usually when everyone is asleep. Otherwise, I'm napping between the various appliances going on and off."

"I'm sure Val simply loves that," David chuckled.

"I wouldn't know," Jesse frowned, "she has taken to having long conversations with Birgit and doesn't come to bed until I'm asleep."

"Everything okay between the two of you?" David asked.

"I guess so," Jesse sighed, "it has never been normal ... so hard to tell."

David grinned and nodded in understanding.

Jenkins felt another vibration in his pocket. Pulling out the motion sensor monitoring device, he was in time to see the door to the equaliser room close on the woman called Valencia and Birgit.

"These people are going to drive me crazy," he muttered, pulling his mobile and sending a text to Harvey. "Hopefully, that will give him enough time to find out how Fiona is and gauge if Valencia and Birgit will be okay."

Quickly finishing meal preparations, Jenkins entered the basement cave. Yes, David and Jesse were still pouring over the table. Silently moving toward them, he noticed Jesse looking restless and wondered if he was aware of Valencia and Birgit's actions.

"Jesse," Jenkins greeted before turning to David, "David."

The two men acknowledged him with nods.

"The meal should be ready in about twenty minutes," he said, turning to Jesse, "did you know Valencia and Birgit are using the equaliser?"

He watched Jesse pale dangerously, swallow hard and scrubbed his hands over his face.

"They are going to be the death of me," he muttered, "how long does the process take?"

Pulling out the monitoring device, he pushed a few keys before answering.

"According to the evaluation," he looked up at Jesse, "forty-five minutes."

"Why so long?" Jesse whispered.

"I cannot answer that question," Jenkins sighed, "the evaluation is done by the machine."

Jesse nodded, sighed and leaned on the table, "Thanks, Jenkins. Tell Harvey I'll meet him in the infirmary when the process is done."

Jenkins nodded, turned and left the room. If it were his better half doing what Valencia and Birgit were doing, he would be beside himself with worry. He had heard Jesse had a private mind and wondered if that also extended to his emotions.

Jesse waited for the door to shut before picking up the paperweight and throwing it across the cave toward the stairs. It fell a few yards short of the staircase, thumping into the sand.

"Feel better?" David asked, his voice filled with understanding.

"I don't want your pity," Jesse ground out.

"I don't pity or envy you," David shook his head, "if that were Breanna, I would be in a fit of rage and panic."

"She knows Fiona hasn't recovered from her bout in there," Jesse pushed his hands through his hair, "why would she do something like this?"

"There is no way of knowing until she comes out of there," David sighed, "maybe she heard something or something happened that made her decide to do this."

"Hey guys," Jarred called, springing over the staircase railing and landed in the sand below. The jump would have injured any other man but not Jarred.

"Hey," David called, "how come you in such a hurry?"

"Kyle just told me about Tina," Jarred stopped suddenly, looking between the two, "you haven't heard."

David stiffened, "Heard what?"

"Tina is pregnant," Jarred babbled, "there are several complications by the sounds of it, but the biggest thing is," he hesitated slightly. "Craig will have to stay with her until she delivers."

Jesse stilled, "Do you know if Valencia heard this?"

"No idea," Jarred said, shaking his head.

"That would make sense," David said, silently following Jesse's train of thought. "If she overheard a conversation, Valencia would do something like she is right now."

"What is Val doing?" Jarred frowned.

"She put herself in the equaliser," Jesse sighed, "she'll be in there another ..." he looked at his watch, "half-hour."

"Why would she ..." Jarred stopped speaking as realisation filled his eyes, "damn. That cannot be good."

"That is an understatement," David met Jarred's gaze with a meaningful look.

Jarred bit his lower lip, understanding, "Jesse, I'm sure she will be fine."

Jesse glared at Jarred, "So do I."

"Jarred," Reilly called, "you're needed. Now."

"Guess I have to go," Jarred said, turning and running across the sand before taking the stairs two at a time.

"I wonder if he ever runs out of energy," David watched him leave.

"No," Jesse snickered, "he just changes his battery pack."

"Jesse, she will be okay," David whispered, meeting the concerned gaze, "trust that she knows what she is doing."

"I'm trying," Jesse said, "but it's doing a number on my nerves."

"We could always get Jarred to run over them," David shrugged.

"No thanks," Jesse sighed; the two men chuckled before turning to the table and looking over a few options they thought may work.
