《Demonic Dragon Crest》Traitor

"Hahaha, when this drug is ready, everyone will buy it like crazy! No one can resist such an effect!" The man was the owner of a big company that had used many illegal methods to rise. Right now, his group was celebrating their successful experiments.
The place was extremely beautiful with many ornaments around. Wall was made out of high-class materials alongside many of the furniture. Outside was a view that would make anyone want to live there.
There were 4 people currently sitting at the fancy table with food that commoners had never seen in their life. Each one of them had an excited expression on them except for one.
"Boss, what should we do if the customer starts to complain about the side effect?" The one who spoke was a masked man with dark black hair and crystal blue eyes.
"Eric, why are you asking such an obvious question? Just take him back for an experiment, if he doesn't comply, then we'll simply kill him off." He answered emotionlessly as if he was like killing off some ants.
"Also Eric, why are you wearing a mask in here? You've also been awfully quiet…" The woman turned wary as she thought of how unusual Eric was acting.
"Eh? What do you mean? I've always been like this." Eric smiled through his mask, trying to prove his innocence.
"Then tell me, what did we discuss last time?" The woman inquired Eric as her suspicion started to grow.
"What we last discussed? How can I remember something like that… You're really putting me in a tight spot here Mel." Eric tried to fight his way out, but this had only made Mel's wariness grow. She then pulled out a gun under her chair and pointed it at 'Eric'.
"Who are you? Who sent you here?"
Sigh…
"Well looks like I got busted." Eric replied emotionlessly, as he took off his mask revealing a handsome face. Mel observed him intensely till she realized who he was.
"Y-you're that assassin?!" None of them recognized 'Eric' except for Mel, she immediately dropped her gun and begged for her life.
"P-please don't kill me! I'll do whatever you want!" The other was dumbfounded at this sight, the prideful Mel was now kneeling on the ground begging!
"Hey! Mel, why are you begging him?! He's only a person with no arms on him!"
"Noah… you don't know who this man is… fighting him is useless, it's best if we don't provoke him." Noah refused to believe his ears and turned towards 'Eric' who was just calmly enjoying his steak.
"I don't believe that you can dodge a bullet!" With that, he fired at the eating man or so he thought he did. Silence enveloped the room when they realized there was no ammo in their guns.
The silence was soon broken by the sound of 'Eric' who had now finished his meal. "Thanks for the meal, I'll make sure to pay you…"
"W-who are you?!" Noah was startled on the ground, scared for his life. The other man was nowhere in sight, while Mel remained in her same position.
"Hey, you… Mel was it? How do you know about me?" He was really interested since not many people knows his true identity.

"O-one of my client told me about you, the assassin that had never failed a mission before…" Mel stuttered as she truthfully answered him. In her heart, the only way to get out of this situation is to be useful to him.
"Hmm, I really want to know who this 'client' is, but it doesn't matter either way." He said calmly, unbothered by their fear for him. He stayed seated on his chair with an unreadable expression.
Suddenly, the man that had disappeared earlier came up behind him with a bat. He swung the bat full force at him, with the intention of killing.
The seated man easily grabbed his wrist and twisted it. "Hey, Reynold. Did you miss me already? You could've run away ya know?"
"Humph! You killed Eric, didn't you?!" Reynold asked in pain, holding his wrist.
"Hm? Whoever I killed has nothing to do with you, even if they're someone you know." He brushed it off like it was nothing.
"What kind of f**ing logic is that?!" Reynold roared in anger at the unknown man's response.
"Quiet down. You're annoying me, if you want to live for a bit longer then I suggest you talk less." He warned Reynold after breaking his other wrist.
"AGHH!" The pain that Reynold was going through, right now was the most he'd ever felt in his life. He bit his tongue, trying to ease the pain till it started to bleed.
Mel and Noah were both watching this scene in horror, fearing this might also happen to them. "P-please don't kill us! We'll give you everything we have!" They both exclaimed, trying to buy their way out.
Meanwhile, the mysterious man was still breaking Reynold's limbs one by one. Each time a bone was cracked their fear grows.
Crack!
Crack!
There was a pool of blood underneath Reynold's body, all of his limbs had been broken. He'd made sure Reynold was conscious throughout the whole process.
"You've quite a few criminal records to your name… rape, murder, and fraud." The man listed each one of Reynold's crimes, while he was wailing in pain. "Don't worry, you won't die from this. At worst, you'll only become a cripple that can't even think."
"Now back to you two. Give me what I want and I'll leave." Hearing this, Noah and Mel's eyes lit up, and they went to grab many paperwork. "Here, this is the contract for all my businesses, you just need to sign it and it'll be yours."
They laid down the contracts on the table, waiting for a response. The man merely glanced at them with his emotionless eyes. "Sorry, this isn't enough…"
The two's expressions turned ugly at this. Currently, they were trying to buy time for their guards to come. With this much commotion, they should've already been here, but yet none had come for them.
"It's no use. Your guards had left long ago." He knew what exactly they were thinking, and crushed their last hope completely. He stood up and walked slowly towards them. Their heart shuddered at each step he took.
"Do you know what I want the most?" The man asked the two anxious man and woman. They start to rack their brain out, trying to think of what can be used to trade for their lives.

"Assassin Alzeth, may you please tell us what you want, we really don't know!" Alzeth was surprised that Mel even knew his name.
'Seems like this 'client' isn't so simple…'
"Hmm…" Alzeth's pondering had regained the hope in their heart. 'We just need to know what he wants and our lives are ensured!'
After what felt like an eternity to them, Alzeth finally spoke up. "I want your life." Hearing these four words, Noah and Mel sprinted towards the door. Alzeth watched them with cold eyes as they run away.
The two burst open the door just to see all their guards were lying dead in front of them. There were many bodies piled on each other. Some had missing arms or legs while others had many fist marks on their bloody face.
They couldn't bear this scene nor could they run away. There was blood and corpses everywhere, even walking would be hard. All they could do now is scream for help. Their cries echoed through the hallway, but not a single person came for them.
Alzeth slowly walked toward the two, who now can't even speak a word. "Are you done shouting?" He slowly asked. The two nodded furiously out of fear for their life.
"Alright, I guess I'll start with your legs." With that Alzeth went over and crushed Noah's leg. When Mel saw this, she tried to run through the corpse but slipped on the floor full of blood. "Don't be in such a hurry, It'll be your turn in a moment."
Alzeth soon walked over to Mel since Noah had already fainted with his 2 broken legs. "Do you want me to start with your legs or arms?" Alzeth's face was devoid of emotion as he asked Mel.
"Just kill me, please!" Mel is currently in a miserable state with blood stains all over her body from the corpse. She'd already given up the thought of running away from this man.
"That won't do. Look, your 2 friends suffered so much already. It wouldn't be fair to them If I just kill you." Alzeth took her arm and slowly crush them between his first.
Crack!
"Since you don't want to answer me I'll just break all of them." The whole process was extremely slow as Alzeth wanted Mel to feel it all. Soon only howls and cracking sounds can be heard from the room.
Alzeth placed the three next to each other and tied them with a rope. He would've waited for them to wake up and inquire them about the 'client'. Now, time was running out, soon more guards will come after him.
Alzeth poured oil all over the three and the floor around them. He went to the window enjoying the scenery as he waits for the guards.
Footsteps could be heard from the hallway as they soon approach the room. They soon surround Alzeth who was still enjoying the scene.
"Hands up! If you don't follow what we say, we'll shoot!" The captain shouts at him while letting the others check on their boss.
"Captain! They're alive, but if we don't take them away soon they'll die!" They quickly moved the 3 out till when they tried to exit the room, they were suddenly stopped.
"Hey. I advise you to put them down and run." Alzeth finally looked back and warned them.
"Nonsense, we've over 20 people here, what can you do against us?"
"Well, it doesn't matter to me anyway. I'll give you 10 seconds before it's too late."
"Humph! Don't try to trick us, you've no way to run! Get 'em!" Half of the guards ran over to capture Alzeth.
Sigh…
Alzeth kicked open the window and jumped out leaving a lighter at where he was. The moment the lighter touched the ground, fire arose, and the entire room was like hell. Screams could be heard everywhere, many were being burnt alive, some were trying to get rid of it, and some were already jumping out the window.
Later on that night, the reporter came, but there was nothing left but corpses at the scene. "As many as 60 people had died last night, but as for the culprit, we'll find out for sure. Until we finish our investigation, please refrain from leaving your houses..."
Whish!
Alzeth turned off the television after his assistants bought him the paper he needed. He went back to his home after escaping the place. He wanted to find out who this 'client' that knew so much about him was.
"Here's some tea Alzeth." His assistant handed him a warm green tea. They've been together for over 15 years, so Alzeth doesn't even hesitate when taking it. After taking a sip, he suddenly felt his body turn limp.
"Oh, Alzeth… How could you be so naive? A world best assassin dying to a cup of tea? How hilarious would that be hahaha!"
"Lucas! Why?! What did I do for you to betray me?!" Alzeth's rage came from deep inside his heart. To him, Lucas was more like a brother than just someone he took in, but now he'd betrayed him.
"I'm really sorry Alzeth. This must be done for the greater good of our world. You don't need to think so much about it. Go and fulfill your task. We'll meet again." Lucas watched him die slowly with his seaweed green eyes.
"Hey, Lucas! What the f**k are you talking abou-" Alzeth's body fell limp to the ground lifelessly, unable to finish the sentence. Before his death, all he could think of was a single word. "Why?"
…
"Zeris Vaygne! Wake up now or I'll kill you for real!"
Alzeth woke up with many people surrounding him. 'Where am I? Is this the afterlife?'
"Hey! We're telling you to stand up! Don't die on us so soon. Haha…" The guy threw a punch at Alzeth who was still trying to figure out what happened.
Alzeth easily caught the fist and threw him back. "I might not know what's going on, but don't think just because this is the afterlife you can bully me…"

The Head That Wears The Crown
It's a tale as old as time. Boy goes to funeral. Boy gets sucked into a different world. Boy has to lead a settlement. Boy has to lead a settlement? Boy has to lead a settlement. This is a story about that settlement, and some other stuff. Maybe. Disclaimer: Not sure if it qualifies enough for a gore tag. There is a description of someone's death somewhere in this, but I don't think it is descriptive enough to justify a gore tag. Disclaimer part deux: I initially started writing this as background for another story but got so into it I just ended fleshing it out a bit. Disclaimer part tres: People love reading disclaimers don't they? It's why I've included so many. They're just for you. Disclaimer part four: I know, this is getting egregious. You're starting to find it less funny. Just wait till the twentieth disclaimer, it will start being funny again. Disclaimer part five: I'm kidding, this is the last one. I don't promise I'll read every comment or message, but I certainly welcome your feedback. Disclaimer part six: I lied, it wasn't the last one. I wrote this story without breaking it down into chapters. It just goes, that means that the chapter ends when it ends, not when there is a convenient break in the story. That means that it's very annoying for you as a reader since chapters can end mid sentence. Hah! Sucker! Disclaimer part seven: Get ready for slow updates. Who knows when this will continue. Toss it on read later and come back in fifty years. Disclaimer part eight: Cover Photo by Arthur Ogleznev on Unsplash
