Lush trees that seems endless just like the starry night. Beautiful at first sight but as you get deeper in you see the dangers. Blood lined all the trees the bodies ripped, cut, burned, and looted. Each body killed in a different way. As the plants shook screams from every direction "Don't let him get away" a raspy and angered voice yelled. As the voice yelled the bushes rustled a small starved boy came running with cuts on every inch of skin.
Every cut seemed to be deeper then the last. All the sound became quiet as the boys heavy breath became louder. while running the boy fell over a body that was ripped in half. The bushes that moved as a large man cam out clad in armor with a large broad sword lined with blood. He pulled out his sword just as big as him. "tell me where you hid the ring before I do something I'll regret" he said while pointing his sword at the boy. "I can't tell you where I hid it" the boy said with a straight face.
The man moved his sword and in a moment the boys left leg was flying through the air blood splattered all over the boys face. As the blood flew in his eyes he screamed as the pain finally hit full force. the mans eyes narrowed 'where did you hide the ring" he said even more annoyed then before. The boy looked up at him drool coming out his mouth mixed with blood, and tears pouring out with blood shot eyes " I'll tell you just spare me please" the boy yelled crawling to the man.
With wide smile the man sheathed his sword "finally so tell me now" the man said still with his wide smile. The boy pulled out a necklace from his tattered shirt as he pulled out the necklace the ring glowed a silver. The man snatched the ring and spoke one word "Doran" in a loud composed voice. black smoke flooded out of the ring circling the ground below him. As the smoke rose up it took the ruff shape of a person the man looked at the smoke he said "give me what I desire" he said glaring at the smoke.

"as you wish" was all I heard as if it came from the smoke cloud but in that moment he evaporated that was when the boy crawled away. "oh what's wrong you said grant your desire you should have respected me" the smoke cloud said and turned to the boy. The boy looked up in fear as his eye shook in fear "as a gift for protecting my ring I shall give you your wishes just take my ring and say what he said" as the smoke was getting sucked up into the ring.
The small boy crawled to the ring bleeding out as he grabbed the ring he said "Doran" as the smoke came out of the ring "hello..." he said as the boy passed out. From loss of blood starring at the ring that looked as if it was a set of wings.
~1 hour later~
Boys POV
As I woke up the first thing I saw was the sun rising. The thought of my leg came to mind I rushed up to check my leg to my surprise it was still there. I heard a humming as I turned to see the cloud of smoke had become more clear I could see a more human shape. "hello" I said with a shaky voice. he turned to me his semi visible eyes glowed a faint purple.
"hey little one your finally up... I did you a favor and healed your wounds" he said in a calm and soothing and raspy voice. ' thank you …"I slurred my words as I realized that he had no idea what his name was. "oh you can call me Doran little one" he said while he bowed in a thought I remembered what he said earlier before I passed out " you said that you would grant my desire" I said still wondering what he wanted.
" ah yes I almost forgot first tell me your name" he said slowly floating towards me. in my mind I couldn't remember anything but I could remember one name a traveler called me. The name that I held close because they gave me a purpose "Cazlid" I said with a wide smile. "you seem happy but anyways Cazlid what do you want" he said with a confused look on his face. as I thought time seemed to freeze.

"are you having trouble thinking of something?" he said while upside down in the air spinning. I could only think of one thing I knew was impossible the one thing I messed the hope I lost. The father I lost and the one I wanted. " you ok little cazlid?" he said circling me "oh I was thinking of someone" I said with a sad look.
"how about we change the rules" he said it with a arrogantly tone "what do you mean change the rules" I said with confusion " its simple a deal a wish with no ties and I get to be out of this ring" he spun around me non stop waiting for my answer. I had one question in mind "well why do you want to make a deal with me". " its quit simple I'll find who I'm looking for and you get what you want simple right"
All that was still on my mind was " A father" I said aloud unknowingly "ah sorry I meant I want a father" I said trying to change the subject. "then how about this ill be your father but you'll come with me to find a few people and I'll make you something similar to my kind" he said calm and was glad it could make it easier. "then Doran is that the deal" I said while getting ready to leave the forest.
"of course now all you have to do is break my ring I'll fix it after" he said going back into the ring. I took off the ring and rose it over a rock. and began smashing it on the rock over and over again and finally the ring broke. out of it came a burst of smoke so dark I felt like I was asleep. the smoke slowly cleared as a figure came out I could only think of one way to describe it as hero out of the ash.
long pale purple hair in the front and black hair tied back. Purple eyes a red cloth on his shoulders with black fur around his neck. A light gray turtle neck with cuts on his side. In front of his pants a gray gold and purple that he wore and a red lined with gold all over his waste besides the front.
But the thing that really drew my intention was the purple markings on his face, arm, and in the cuts of his shirt. As he put his had out to help me up I could cry in that moment. And I did " Doran I mean dad" I said tears balled out I couldn't stop. " I cant believe you are so emotional but let it out little Caz" he said calmly i couldn't see his face but I was still so happy but I wish they could meet. As the image of flowing pink hair was beautiful in the wind i miss her the one i saw as a mother.

8 1740Aegis: Welcome to the End of the Universe
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Bernard's life wasn't particularly great. Living on the razor's edge of poverty isn't a fun place to be. Being forced to compete for jobs that you are overqualified for, against others that are often just as overqualified, was almost humiliating. There had been plenty of times where he wished his luck was better, that he could stumble onto an opportunity that would allow him to finally succeed in life. Change and opportunity is rarely easy though, particularly if the change in question is a drastic alteration to the world as he knew it. When his chance finally arrived he learned just how true that old adage could be. Be careful what you wish for. Also, monkeys are evil.
