《Sword of Savage Desires》18. Dark thoughts

Xie Yimu waited patiently as the man in front of him closed his eyes and started to meditate, trying to accomplish the task he had in mind. He was wearing the black cloak, the hood covering more than half of his face. Other than the tip of his nose, his lips and his chin, Xie Yimu could see nothing. The man sat in a lotus position while Xie Yimu sat in front of him with a candle in between them.
At first, nothing happened. The air in the room was calm. But soon, Xie Yimu saw the candle flickering, initially slightly, later widely until it was extinguished.
The man suddenly opened his eyes and even though the hood of the cloak covered them, Xie Yimu still sensed his gaze on him and he sat still, with his back upright as he waited expectantly.
"Master, why did you summon me all of a sudden? Is something the matter?" He questioned him politely, his face filled with respect and admiration for the old man.
Xie Yimu had been thinking of revenge for the humiliation he had suffered in front of his friends when he had been summoned by the old man. The man had to power to speak to anyone in their minds and Xie Yimu was not surprised that he had called to meet him all of a sudden. He too needed someone to discuss the next strategy to handle Xie Xinya.
Now, with Zhelan gone, she was the only one who stood in his path and he had to manage her before it was too late.
"What a naive child you are!" The man chided, his voice gravelly and toneless. The man shook his head and lit the candle again as he observed the young man in front of him again.

"People are using you and plotting against you and you have no idea about it. How gullible!" He continued and did not miss the way Xie Yimu's expressions changed all of a sudden. From confusion to shock and even anger, he could see the changes in him clearly.
"Who is plotting against me, Master?" He frowned as he suppressed his fury.
Xie Yimu did not doubt the man whatsoever. To him, the man was his Master and he was more important than anyone in the world, even his family. It was he who had guided him and helped him reach the stage of cultivation he was currently at. The man was his savior and Xie Yimu was willing to believe anything he said.
The man was more powerful than most people in the kingdom. After the king and his grandfather, it was the man in front of him he respected the most. Although Xie Yimu did not know his level of cultivation, he was close to being an immortal and that said it all.
"And why?" Xie Yimu enquired.
The man just smiled in return and Xie Yimu's frown deepened. "Do you want me to say who it is? I am certain you are capable of guessing yourself."
Xie Yimu pondered for a while when a face he hated the most flashed in his mind. "Is it Xie Zhehan? Is he plotting against me? But how is it possible? Has he not lost his powers? How could he plot against me when he is not even in Kingdom Idora."
"Xie Yimu..." The man's voice turned cold and Xie Yimu stopped speaking immediately. "Why are you thinking about Zhelan when he is far away in another place? Although he is the reason, he is not the one conniving against you. Think of a person who is right here, in front of you."

Xie Yimu's eyes flared with anger when he thought of his half-sister who had humiliated him in front of everyone and....
"It is not her too." The man stopped his notions from running wild and from losing control of himself.
"Then, who is it, Master?" Xie Yimu could not think of anyone else who would plot against him.
"It is your grandfather, the head of the Xie clan, Xie Zedong."
The man's reply was not what Xie Yimu was expecting and he stared at him blankly in shock. Nobody said a word for quite some time and it was not until the man snapped his fingers when he was done waiting impatiently that Xie Yimu blinked a few times and came out of his trance.
"My grandfather...Why would he plot against me? What would he get out of it?" Xie Yimu was too dumbfounded to comprehend the issue on his own and he questioned the man hurriedly.
"Do you really think that Xie Zedong disowned his beloved grandson?" Seeing Xie Yimu's innocent expression, the man let out a smile of ridicule. "Xie Zedong is more cunning than he seems to be and this time, he has shown how wicked he can be. You, Xie Yimu, fell prey to his plans and are still in the dark about it."
"Xie Zedong will not abandon his grandson, the one he is proud of." The man continued when he did not get any response from the young man. "Zhelan is the direct descendent of the Xie Clan, the son of the main wife. Do you think he will give up on him easily, especially when he was about to become the youngest cultivator ever to attain immortality?"
"But is he not trash now? How will he...."
"That is all temporary. Zhelan can still start cultivating and reach the peak again if he wishes to."
Xie Yimu pursed his lips and his brows narrowed in anger as he mulled over it.
"What is my grandfather plotting, Master? Does he want to make Zhelan his heir even after him bringing shame to the clan?"
"You guessed it right, but only there is a slight modification." The man let the mystery settle on his disciple before he started speaking again. "Until Zhelan returns, your half-sister, Xie Xinya will be the heir to the Xie clan."
Xie Yimu stood up suddenly and the man followed suit. He picked up the candle and placed it in the candelabra behind him.
"Your grandfather is putting up a facade in front of everyone. He has still not given up on Zhelan and will never give up on him either. I called you to inform the same. Now, it is up to you to decide what you would do next."
The man patted Xie Yimu's shoulder lightly and strode towards the door. "And before I leave," The man stopped suddenly and turned around to face a livid Xie Yimu. "Let me tell you that Zhelan is on his way to Mount Dao to regain all that he has lost. It will not be long before he will return to claim what belongs to him, that is...." The man stopped and his lips curved into a smirk. "If he does not die on his way."

Forced Immortality
Guy dies, transmigrates and then dies some more. Contrary to what you might think, this is actually a story about an OP protagonist. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things to keep in mind before reading: - I have never written a story before so this will most likely end up being pretty bad. - I have done zero planning for this story. - This is mostly something i wanted to try out in my freetime so updates are going to be sporadic at best. - Chapter length will fluctuate until i figure out this whole writing thing. - I have no idea if there will be romance. Might add it in the future if this story somehow doesn't end up as a failure. - There will be some stuff from the Star Wars Universe but this is NOT a Star Wars fanfiction. - The story will be pretty explicit in the gore department so if your squeamish, beware. - This story will be a slow burn. - If any of the above changes, i'll update the synopsis and i might make a seperate chapter just detailing these points. - Last point, English isn't my native language so have some mercy on my poor soul, ok? If none of the above has scared you away then i invite you to join me on this catastrophic ride. It'll probably be kinda fun.....hopefully... This story is also on Scribblehub and Webnovel.
