《When We Were Wallflower》Chapter 12: Lost

The rain was particularly heavy as though there was a storm brewing not long from now. The rain didn't let up for a second the streets began to get flooded and the canals begin to overflow.
Street vendors were forced to close their shops. Restaurants and cafés closed their outdoor section as the rain was getting in the way of their business.
Elizabeth sprinted to every possible place Harper might stop by thinking it would be a huge possibility that she might be in one of those places.
She began her first stop at the nearby pet store that was along the school path. She opened the door as water drips onto the floor of the shop the shop owner gave her a glaring stare.
" Hello! Has anyone with the same uniform about my shoulder-length with a purple bag happen to come here?" she questioned the owner
" No! no one like that happen to come here or even saw anyone with the same uniform that you have on, manage to walk past my shop. Can you please leave you're getting the floor wet from the rain outside?" Raised the owner's voice
“ Thank you and sorry to bother your business.” She hurriedly walked out
She began her search once again stopping at the nearby café where Harper took her the first time they met. It was particularly crowded as it was famous in the entire town.
It was no less than 15 minutes walk from Agoita Station and about 30 minutes walk from the school.
She went inside trying to squeeze in through the crowds, her drenched clothes made everyone she touches move aside as they felt the cold from the rain.
She manage to come to the front of the line asking the barista if she had seen anyone with the same description she gave the previous shop.
" Hello! Have you by chance seen a teenage girl who happens to be wearing the same uniform with a purple bag and an orange scrunchy happened to stop by?"
" I'm sorry can you repeat your question? I can't hear you very well." The barista spoke
Elizabeth repeated her question back to the barista this time she shouted as much as she could
" No. I don't think anyone had stopped by here with the description you mention." the barista responded
" Oh okay. Thank you for your help."
She began to walk towards the door when a waiter stopped her in her tracks.

" I saw a girl with the same description as the one you were looking for. She stood outside for a while after which she just walked away. I couldn't tell where she was heading but she seems kinda depressed and when I tried talking to her she just blew me off. The waiter explained
" OHHH!! REALLY?! Do you happen to know where she might have walked off to?" she asked
" No. I'm sorry she just walked straight I don't know where she going. That's all the information I have."
" Ohh thank you!! You have helped so much. I shall be off. Bye." she waved as she walks through the doors
[ where could she have gone? I'm concerned about her I hope she isn't in any trouble and that she made it home safely.] she spoke to herself
She headed straight walking to the park 10 minutes from the café. It was one of the places that they went to after school when they wanted to have fun after a stressful day in school.
It was 4 o'clock and there are usually little to no people hanging around the park especially now since it's been raining since 3. However, during midday, the park was particularly crowded.
[ Hopefully, I can find her here since this is the place she usually goes to whenever she's upset, and it's rather convenient since her house isn't that far from here. The weather doesn't seem to be helping either if I'm correct she's probably beating herself up from what happened.]
She rushed through the places where she would normally hang around. However, each location she searched seemed to be empty, like she has never been here at all and that she may have wandered somewhere else.
She passed by one homeless person wearing a torn-up shirt and stained old jeans with ragged shoes with holes on them as water seeps through them, who took shelter from the rain.
" Sorry to disturb you but have you seen anyone wearing the same uniform that I am wearing walked past here or run through here?"
" What?! I ain't seen anyone walk or ran past here wearing what your wearing missy." the old man grunted at her
" Ok, thanks for your time." snarling at him as she walks away
" Damm it where has she run off to. Maybe she went home. I should visit her house and see if she's home."

She went to her house and she knocked at the door hoping someone would open the door she shouted with her might but to avail there was no one in her house.
Her neighbor was awoken by her shouting and she stepped outside to see what was the commotion about.
" Can I help you with something?" An elderly woman wearing a blue bathrobe with her bed hair holding a newspaper in her hand spoke
" Oh. I was wondering if anyone in this house came home. I am looking for a girl who lives here who has the same uniform that I am wearing." She explained to Harper's neighbor
" Ohh that girl. She is such a lovely girl. Polite, kind, and caring. She's a good daughter and I have seen them around. She has a lovely family. But I'm afraid you are out of luck. She hasn't stopped by here. I would know she would always greet me whenever she came home from my window." Mrs. Day replied
" That girl is always so energetic always ready to give a helping hand." Mrs day added
" Oh, I see!! Well, thank you for the information. You have been a great help!!" she grinned at her
" If you do see her, can you please let her know that I need help with my garden again, those pest doesn't seem to stop no matter how much I spray them with insecticides?"
" I will be sure to let you know when I manage to find her."
She ran back to the park and searched a second time thinking she might have missed something.
Harper wanders around aimlessly not knowing where she wanted to go, she walks past a donut shop it seems so lively as people sit and relax as they enjoy their cup of joe waiting out the rain just like any other.
She stopped outside the shop as she looked through the window filled with posters and stickers, the rain fell through the window washing down any stains and muck off. There was a gap where there weren't any posters blocking her view.
[ This place sure takes me back. How long ago was that again? One or two years ago. This place sure hasn't changed in the slightest same old signboard with the bold letter as though the brightly colored name wasn't enough to attract customers.] She chuckled to herself as she continues to walk.
15 minutes later, she found herself walking in an unfamiliar place. She walks through the riverbank and laid down on the moist grass, the rain continues to fall. She closed her eyes as her mind wanders.
[ Miss Alison is sure gonna be mad at what happened and she'll probably flunk us by now. I should apologize to Fate for having her carry so much pressure on this presentation, while I just stood there not being able to do anything. I wouldn't blame her if she never accepts my apology she has the right to, for having such a useless partner for her to carry.]
She started sobbing all of a sudden. For a moment, she thought the rain finally stopped. Soon after, a shadow cast over her face.
The rain persistently tapped on the umbrella, she wondered where that noise was coming from, and she thought how come the rain suddenly stopped falling even though she could still feel the rain splashing on her hand.
She slowly opened her eyes wiping the tears and rain that fell on her face. She sat up, but her vision was still blurry, after rubbing her eyes her perception started to come back.
She turned her head, and looked up and saw someone familiar, a person who she hasn't seen in a long time but never forgotten.
When Elizabeth reached one of Harper's favorite spots a koi pond, besides it was a small little gazebo. There, she saw a girl who was wearing the same uniform seating with her legs crossed and tucked in under the bench with a handkerchief in her hand.
[ Is that Harper she's wearing the same clothes as I am. I'm sure it's her no doubt about it.] She thought to herself
As she walks closer with each step she took, her confidence became doubts as she went inside she saw someone who she didn't expect to see. Feeling surprised and shocked to see what she was doing in here.
" Hey! What are you doing here?" Elizabeth asked as she sat beside her, her exhaustion started to kick in with each breath she took it became clear how much she had exhausted herself looking for Harper
" Oh, its you..." Her voice trembled as she spoke to Elizabeth

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
