" Alright, class, we will now have a discussion about the 400 hundred-year-old war between Wisteria and Oxyln and how big their accomplishments were and how it affected the two countries, and how their economy has grown and improved to this day."

The class breaks up into their groups and conversation, and since it's a pair work, Harold and Elizabeth must work together.

" Ugh... Fine. Let's get this over with." Grunted Elizabeth.

" Oh come on, Lizzy, don't be that way. It sounds like you don't like me, and it's hurtful, you know."

" Don't call me Lizzy, and I didn't know robot has feelings?"

" Oh, haha. Very funny, I bet you can't even be kind to me for a week better, yet you can't even go a day without insulting me. I'm willing to bet Markus on it."

" What?! You're kidding right, it will be so easy I can do it in my sleep. Who's Markus?"

" Oh, Markus is someone who's very special to me. He is my favorite companion. He is my turtle, and he is so adorable and so cute you wanna see? I bet you might even fall in love when you see him."

" Sure, I won't be surprised if he is more charming than its master." She laughs hysterically

The people who were sitting in front of them started to cover up their ears as they were talking loudly.

" Ouch. You never give me a break, huh?!"

But you're not wrong he always gets the attention of other girls when I bring him out.

" That's hilarious poor you. You deserve it, in my opinion."

He showed her a picture of Markus, and she just couldn't help but adore the little reptile in front of her.

" I got to admit I didn't peg you to be a responsible person who cares about other living things guess I was wrong about you."

" You're a responsible person that a very charming trait for a person."

" Was that a compliment?

" NO! SHUT UP!! "

[ELIZABETH BLUSHES FROM EAR TO EAR]

" HAHAHA, alright, I'm still gonna take it as a compliment despite what you said." Harold grinned,

" Don't get too carried away. HMP!"

" Anyway, let's just get back to the topic we need to finish." Elizabeth commented

" Alright, so what about the economy of the two countries? How successful are they now?"

Elizabeth took out her textbook from a brand-new purple-colored bag and placed it in the middle of the desk.

" The textbook stated how the two countries were united. It turns out back then, Orgina had the highest amount of natural resources and was one of the richest countries due to their ample supplies of military-grade technology and the fact that they lived in the middle of one of the busiest archipelagos. Thus, they were considered as one of the superpower countries back then." Described Elizabeth

" Wisteria was planning to take on Orgina by planting spies and taking advantage of the night. Still, there was a lack of human resources as they were hugely affected by the previous war they fought against Argion. There was no other choice as the people were suffering from famine and sickness plus rebuilding their nation. King Robert peter III gave an order to one of his generals to seek help to one of their neighboring countries, which was Oxyln." Harold continued

" Oxyln was the only country that could help them as they have all the resources and the technology that can stand toe to toe with Orgina. They have to gamble their chances. If not, there was no other hope for the country of Westeria to flourish and the people will perish from the plague that was happening. Added Elizabeth

" After much discussion with the king of Oxyln, King Harrison Jeffords had agreed to provide support in whatever they needed, including health services for the sick as well as the manpower in rebuilding the country. The treaty was placed after the two countries united."

" They form a formidable army called the 'united forces.' The country of Westeria provided the remaining resources that they had left to support the troops. As for the people of Westeria, King Harrison Jeffords of Oxyln made a decree that they will provide a relief service and full protection for the citizens of Westeria to take care of the sick and the children." Explain Harold

" In the end, when the war ended between Orgina and the united forces. They found themselves in a stalemate as the king of Wisteria betrayed the treaty that they had. He wanted to get the entire land, which causes an all-out war between the two countries." Elizabeth Briefly explain.

" It's kind of ironic, isn't it." Responded Harold

" What do you mean?" asked Elizabeth

" What I mean is that both of them had worked so hard between the treaty and in the end, they still can't come up with an agreement, and they ended up going to war with each other. Resulting in the other country being more vulnerable and weak. Instead of coming up with an agreement to split the land and the natural resources between the two. I mean, they already came this close just to see everything come down. Which is melancholic thinking about it." Explained Harold

" Well, they did try to come up with another agreement to split everything and it worked for a while. However, in the long run, the advisor, as well as the right-hand man of King Robert Peter III. SIR Harry Bottomwood, thought that they needed more."

" They wanted to have more lands and resources and be able to compete with the other superpower countries. As you know, the war ended, and it would be the best tactical decision to boost their economy and the state of the people living in Westeria." Answered Elizabeth

" Another reason was that he wanted to become the greatest ruler ever to live. So he concocted a devious plan to dethrone the ruler of Oxyln. This was planned discreetly at night when all of the armies of Oxyln were asleep. They started their plan of ambushing the army."

" However, the plan didn't work out. The King of Oxyln was wise enough not to trust the King of Westeria, so he planted spies and scouts to monitor their movements and the plans that they have."

" Once everything was planned out, he sent his agents to report back and he acquired the devious plans that King Robert was planning behind his back. King Harrison planned everything that was coming that night of the ambush and when the soldiers of Westeria attacked, they were caught off guard." Elizabeth added.

" The night of the ambush, the soldiers were nowhere to be seen. However, there was a note that was left in the high command camp. It state

'I know about your plans of ambushing us and you will pay after what you have done.'

King Robert was shocked that he let this happened. In retaliation, the army of Oxyln attacked the county of Westeria as well as the citizens. They were vulnerable and weak after suffering two wars back to back, leaving the people hopeless and despair." She continued

" After the war with Westeria King Harrison colonies, two countries and he developed these countries further making use of the Archipelago in Orgina and making a fortress in Westeria as well as keeping lives stock and farming to provide their supplies. Through this, he becomes one of the most feared and at the same time, the greatest ruler that lived."

" Five years later, the country mourns the death of the king he had died in his sleep. They found shattered glass, plates, and books scattered around the room and a wine glass on the floor with wine spilled on the carpet, a small abrasion on his neck, and a small bump behind his head. No one knew what had happened that night some say he was murdered while others said differently. The housekeeper was the person who found him lying on his bed. Elizabeth carried on.

" To this day, no one knew how he died. The people presume that he had gone mad because when he got older, he suffered from a disease that drove him insane. The people started to lose faith in him as their ruler."

" However, there was a rumor that there was a survivor from Westeria and he hired a mercenary from Argonne to kill the king as payback, while others said that his people and his noble knights didn't like the way he was ruling the country and they had planned a mutiny and paid the maid to put poison in his drink before strangling him." Elizabeth carried on

" Really? Where was the wife when he was killed?" asked Harold

" I wonder that myself. I read up on that she was in Orgina handling the shipment and trade. She was in charge of keeping peace and order, delivering stock, and the trading business for the people that wanted to port on that land. She was nowhere near him the night he died. At least that was it stated." Elizabeth went on

" Though there was another rumor that his wife found out that he was unfaithful to her and she came back early to settle what had happened. She was in a rage that he did such things to her so when she served the wine he was supposed to drink, she put led poisoning in it and when that didn't work, she grabbed a wine bottle and hit him on his head. At last, strangling him as she was so frustrated and angry at him for his actions." Explained Elizabeth.

" So, he got overtook by his pride and power. He died and got betrayed at the hands of his people the very people he swore to protect and serve. "Commented Harold

" Pride and Ego. If it didn't go down this way, then both of them would have been successful." He added

" I see. It all makes sense now. This is why people should never be too greedy and aim so high that it ultimately ends up killing them in the end." spoke Harold

" By the way how did you manage to know a lot about these two countries we only just started on this chapter?" inquired Harold

" I read up on it. The last lesson we had on the war between the Highlander and Empire was interesting, and I wanted to find out more about the other topics that we are going to have to cover. However, the article about the king being assassinated I read that in the library."

" Wow. I'm impressed, Elizabeth. I didn't know that you're a history nerd. I mean, I know you're a goodie two shoes and always want to strive to do your best but not this deep research on this kind of topic."

" You're not wrong about me there. I do want to strive to do my very best and be a top student-"

" Not to mention a teacher's pet." interrupted Harold

" TSK. [rolling her eyes] anyway, I always do intensive research on the thing I'm fascinated about."

" Oh, come on, don't be like that, Lizzy. I was just pulling your leg. It's amazing that you know all this. It made it easy for us to give our views."

" I said don't call me that I don't like that name." barked Elizabeth

" HAHAHA. Ok for now. "Jested Harold.

" No, not for now. More like forever." Elizabeth bickered

" Alright, class is about to end in 10 minutes."

Everyone in class stopped for a while as miss Alison was making the announcement.

" I expect all of you have discussed the topic. The views of both countries as well as how the events transpire. All of you will have to give your views on the topic I had given out in the next lesson." Said, miss Alison

" I would like for you guys to make a PowerPoint slide on this topic as this will be counted as one of the graded assignments. Everyone, please give it your best and put in effort so that you don't have to worry about not passing this class."

" For the remaining time, please continue your discussion and once the bell rang, you may go to your next lesson." Announced Miss Alison to the class

They were taken aback by the news that they had just heard. This caused a lot of pressure to get it done with so little time. It was nearly impossible to finish. After the announcement, everyone quickly took out their notebooks and pens to jot down their perspective on the following topic.

" This is not good. We don't have a lot of time to do our presentation. What do we do?" asked Elizabeth

" That's true, but we have already covered most of the question right. You even included some extra knowledge that you looked up on. We'll be fine." Answered Harold

" I don't think that will be enough besides everyone will be having some of the same explanation, so we must stand out from the rest of them if we want to get a better grade." Explain Elizabeth

" You think so. From the way things are right now with the extra knowledge that you gave, I think well be good." Argued Harold

" Of course you do. What can I expect from the person who has been sleeping since this morning? I expect nothing less from you. Well, if you don't wanna work and just be ok with what we have, then I won't stop you, but I will not risk my grades for your laziness and incompetence."

The bell rang and the students rushed out to go for their next lesson. Elizabeth stormed out of class and went on to her next lesson.

After school ended, everyone was packing up their bags and getting ready to leave. Chatter was heard from the hallway and people were loitering outside, waiting for their friends to come out and inviting them to go to a café nearby that had just opened a couple of blocks away from school while others made plans to go to karaoke.

The café was famous for its hand-made and freshly brewed coffee and the owner of the shop looked like a model from a magazine. Not to mention the adorable uniform that they wear, which made all the girls in class wanting to be the first few people to see how unique and stylish the place was.
