"Ow..ow..ow.. that hurt, what happened?"

"Did I just hit a rock or something?" grunting from his pain

"Ugh... ah... I'm sorry I bump into you I wasn't looking where I was going." Stuttering his words

"Are you ok?" he continued to grunt

"Ya, I'm ok. How about you?" replied a high pitched voice

"Same here, I'm fine I didn't hit my head too hard."

As they both got up and look up to their surprised

"ITS YOU!!!" simultaneously shouted.

"Ugh.. why of all people it has to be you." Elizabeth spoke

"HAH. You and me both you think you were the person I want to see." Argued back

Elizabeth walked ahead while Harold picked up his book of the floor that had been knocked away from him as they continue to walk, they exchanged words with each other like an old married couple

"What are you doing here so late?" asked Elizabeth

"That's supposed to be my question!!" exclaimed Harold

"I asked first, so answer me?"

"I was here because I was waiting in line to buy a book that I have been waiting to read since it was too expensive to afford. I waited for the sale to come, then when I got to the counter, I realize that I forgot my wallet in school, so I had to come back and get it. What's your explanation? Did you stay backed to study or learn how to show people off with your' know at all knowledge?"

"No, I was on my way home. I was held back because our teacher asked me to see her about our class schedule since I just moved just a couple of months ago."

"Oh, you just moved here too. Which country did you come from?"

"I'm from Ethion."

He caught up to her and walked beside her. The sun started to set as the horizon was splashed with orange and red hues. The hue spread across the ground as it formed the evening shadow that cast over the two.

"WHAT!! You're from there too, so am I just came here a week ago. Where're your friends don't tell me you don't have one."

"EXCUSE ME!! WHAT DID YOU SAY? THAT'S RUDE."

" Oh yeah! (chuckling) where are they right now, huh?" laughed Harold

"Not like it's any of your business, they went home before me. I have friends, unlike you transfer student."

"Yeah, I'm still new here, but someday I'll have more friends than you would ever imagine, and they will want to wait for me when I get called out by my teachers. Unlike your friends."

"Good luck making those kinds of friends, but I doubt you will be able to make them because truth be told they don't exist and even if they do, which I don't think will happen. Do you think you will be able to convince them to wait around for you until you finish your conversation with your teachers?" question Elizabeth

"I do, at least, I will try to find those people. It's better to try than not at all. If it fails, then I will have to be satisfied with the friends that I made."

" Good luck with that. If it happens then maybe, someone is looking out for you, and that's someone you need to keep around."

"What happened to the confidence that you have with people, you know the one about believing the goodness of people and the fact that they are willing to change? It seems to be contradictory to what you're saying to me right now?"

"That may be true, but honestly, I have seen enough people to convince me that those kinds of friends that you want don't exist. Despite that fact, I will still believe the goodness of the people just not in this kind of situation where it's hard to believe that they will stay with you."

When they reached the admission office hallway, she briskly walked in front of him. The wind carried the scent of her hair when she turned to face him. The sunset gleams upon her as if she was an angel, and a sudden breeze came in that made her fringe swept across her forehead.

He couldn't help but smell the sweet aroma in the air, she shivers as the cold wind swept across, swiping her fringe back to the side she smiled gleefully. Harold stood frozen, he didn't realize how beautiful she looks until now as she tucked her hair back, she looked at him with those innocent and soft eyes.

"Well, this is me. I have to wait for my parents to pick me up." She smiled at him as she says those words

"I didn't realize it has gotten this late. Are you in any hurry to go back home?" she asked

[she's so cute when she smiles like that, I wished she could smile like this every time I talk to her] he thought to himself.

"Your right, it's getting pretty late I didn't realize it too. No, I have nowhere else to go, so it's fine, don't worry about it."

She turned backed, holding her hands behind her she walked towards the gate. Her face flushed bright pink thinking about what he did. Knowing that he sacrifice his time to get the book, he wanted just to spend time with me. This thought made her smile as she walks.

[man, I wish I could have seen her smile a little longer that would be awesome]

He followed behind her wanting to spend a bit more time with her before going his way.

"I... ah... um... I didn't know your parents pick you up how come?" he was still tongue-tied by what she had done

"Oh, it's not my decision. My parents just told me that they would be picking me up. They said they managed to finish their work earlier. It's much more convenient for me as well." Remarked Elizabeth

"Ah, that makes sense. Well, I should leave you. Your parents might be coming soon. I don't want to hold you back."

He turned left and walked away, but before he could walk any further, he was caught by surprise.

"GOODBYE!! IT WAS GOOD TO KNOW MORE ABOUT YOU. SEE YOU TOMORROW." Shouted Elizabeth

It caught him off guard and before he noticed she was about to leave.

"Hey! I think you should smile more. You look cute when you smile more. It's good to know that I'm not alone. Bye!!" He yelled back

Her face turned crimson red when she heard what he said she didn't want to acknowledge it, but she was delighted at the same time she was astounded because no one has ever said that she looked cute before.

"Where's my parents?" Elizabeth asked the driver

" Oh, I'm sorry, Miss Elizabeth but your parents told me that there were some urgent meetings that pop up, so I'm afraid they won't be joining us. My apologize." Replied the driver

Oh, thats fine. It's not like I'm not used to them standing me up. Thank you for telling me, Winston.

"Of course, Miss Elizabeth. It is my pleasure to chauffeur you when I am not busy. Let's head home. I cooked your favorite dish since it's your first day of school in the semester. I thought you might be feeling sad and after what had happened, I am glad that I did just that." Winston responded

" You mean Lemon baked chicken Parmesan?!"

"Yes. Miss, that is what I meant by your favorite."

"Aww man, thank you so much, Winston. This day just got better."

"Of course. It is my pleasure."

He walked to the traffic light and he couldn't help but think about what happened just now and how he froze up. In all his life, no one has ever done that to him, getting caught by her smile and her lavender-scented perfume. His face turned red as this thought came to his head.

[ Am I catching feelings for her? Is it possible? This has never happened before. I'm always the one they confess to, not the other way around. Nonono!! I was just caught up in the moment that's all there was to it. I still despise her with her know at all attitude, I can never get attracted to that. Besides, she just caught me by surprise, that's all, and I just met her that would be impossible. I was just shocked, that's all. After all, she always looks mad.] Trying to convince himself that there was nothing to be worried about.

When he got home, he greeted his parents and held one hand towards his forehead as a sign of respect. He went to his room and changed his clothes. Exhaustion set in as he lay on his bed thinking about what happened on his first day of school, and the people he met one, in particular, was Elizabeth.

The sky grew darker than before as time passes, he was surprised by her and how different she was as compared to the ones he met back in Ithion. Her attitude, the way she cares about what she believes in, and her childlike innocence set her apart from the others as those thoughts sink in he couldn't sleep. He decided to watch some drama to calm his mind.

After a few hours, he was still wide awake and the street noise was beginning to die down. The night grew longer, feeling tortured by night. He continued to keep himself distracted by playing video games so that he would be able to tire himself out. Time passes, he noticed that it was 3 a.m. he resorted to his last hope by staying awake till it was time for school. Half an hour later, he started to drift away before he knew it, he was out like a light.
