Somewhere in the far reaches of space... lies an enormous planet, a place tainted with a century worth of bloodshed. From up high, the tallest observation tower on the planet's largest continent, a certain general is overseeing the countless battles waging on below him. Normally seeing such a barbaric display of power isn't his forte, but orders are orders. He then decides that maybe standing isn't the best approach when it comes to surveying. So the general looks around... the coast is clear. His towering body bents down and he struggles to fit his butt onto the chair.
?? "How utterly embarrassing... Perhaps, I should ask my butler to fetch me a larger seat... No, that is beyond slack. I can't have that now."
He looks down once more and he sighs.
?? "What a disappointment... the Doc's work got a long way to go before they can match the perfects that savage has. What a predicament... I can't just report to her majesty another failure. Decisions... decisions... what should I do?...... Oh well. It's not my fault really. Solvas! Bring me that!"
The butlers look to the shelf the general is pointing to. On it, there's an assortment of fancy plates, forks, spoons, wine glasses, and bottles of different brands. The butler bows and fetch the bottle on the farthest right. The butler walks to his master and the bottle vanishes between his claws... there was no sound during that frame of time.
?? "Thank you, Solvas. You may take your leave for now."
"Thank General First, Sir. I'll depart and stay right behind the door. If you need any more service, I am willing to serve once more. Good day."
As the butler leaves the door... for a second, he felt as though everything around him froze. As if the cogs of reality cease to exist. He sweats and picks up his speed... the door swings open and closes shut.
General1 "Ha... why did I do that? His etiquette was perfect. Maybe my frustrations with that battle-loving bastard are leaking even if he's not here... I... I should forget about it. That's why I have you here. Isn't it?"
The general looks at the bottle, there's an image of a mannerly dressed man in a suit carrying a basket full of cherries. With no inspection, the general opens it but realizes that he has no glass.
General1 "Ah, how annoying. I forgot to ask Solvas to fetch me a glass. However, I can't ask of him after treating him so dastardly. I suppose I'll do it myself."
His arms stretch like taffy across the room and retrieve one of the wine glasses. He puts it up in the sunlight and it reflects a shine so brilliant that he nearly cried. He sees blue roses imprinted onto drinkware and grins under his mask. The general pours the contents of the bottle into the glass and inserts it through the horizontal gap of his mask.
General1 "Her majesty was right. Cherries taste brilliant. However, I prefer them as wine. May perhaps I could convince her majesty to try it."
"You're kidding, right? Do you like that stuff? Wines are gross."
General1 "Ah! Y-Your majesty. I didn't know that-
"That what. Have you forgotten that my transmission to this place is on 24/7? Anyway, how are the prototypes doing ?"
General1 "Not too well. They don't seem to make any further progress. Good news... they are keeping the cultists relatively safe."
"Oh... that's too bad. I'll pester the old fool to try harder. That's all. Oh, wait. General Karlac has been contacting me nonstop for more cultists."
General1 "That little brat doesn't know his limits! Doesn't he realize how important Aeternum is?!"
"I understand your frustration but the footages he sent me... those humans are becoming stronger and stronger by the day. I have a very bad feeling. So I ask you General to lend him at least one of the majors. He should contact you soon... so prepare to pick it up."
General1 "May I suggest your majesty listen in?"
"Oh god no! His complaining has become rather bothersome. I'm going to end my transmission temporarily. You must sort it out, yourself. Bye."
The transmission ends and the general slams his fist against the arms of the chair. It breaks and he falls flat on the floor. He dusts off his robe and stands up.
General1 "That's fine. I don't need to sit anyway."

On the brightest region of Ganymede, one of Jupiter's moons, there is a fleet of Castastrian starships. One of which is larger than the rest, it hosts one angry general.
?? "WHAT IS THIS?! I DON'T GET WHERE DID THIS CREATURE COME FROM? A BIG HUMAN HAIR-SPREADING RAT! AND WHAT IS UP WITH ALL THESE COLOUR-CODED BATTERY-LOOKING THINGS!"
?? "Ummm, sire. If we just... take a bit of time. We could underst-
?? "Understand what?! M115! This is NONSENSE! We need to finish them off before they get more shit!"

M115 "I know how you feel but... umm...complai-I mean questioning it won't help. M124, please tell Sire."
M124 "I thought you told me that actions feel better than words."
KARNAT "Ah... I did tell you that. Then, action is what I will do! Computer contact that tall bastard?!"
Transmissioning That Tall Bastard... Contact not found
KARNAT "Fuuuuck! Fine... contact... first general."
Transmission found
General1 "Hello brat. What do you want?"
KARNAT "I'll be quick. Hand over the majors. ALL OF THEM."
General1 "Sorry to inform you this but her majesty only allowed ONE major. Choose wisely, General Karlac."
KARNAT "Fu-Fine. One will do. I need someone good with finding out and writing down information."
General1 "This is surprising. You are more reasonable than I thought. Though your etiquette still needs more work. If you are free, I'm willing to teach you some."
Kanji "Enough with the bait. Besides, we are generals, and the only time we rest is when we are injured."
General1 "Your determination is what makes you a slight bit higher than that savage. I'll send you M114."
Kanji "Thanks for the compliment. I guess."
Transmission ends
Kanji "That was weird. Maybe that bastard isn't so bad. Wait.... shit! I forgot to ask how long will this new guy arri-
A glitchy distortion appears in front of the general. When it clears up, a youthful teenage boy steps out. The general looks confused, this is the second time that he sees someone with no clear modification. His skin is tan, his eyes and hair are yellow, and he wears squeaky boots.
Kanji "Ok, are you not modified? Like M124."
M114 "Gosh, I'm hecking sorry me lord. Me modifications are inside me body."
M124 "What a coincidence. But that shouldn't matter. What can you do?"
He stares at the girl on the right of the general. He has seen such a beauty in his entire life, her bright white eyes and shiny short silver hair.... and her brutish skin? He walks up and gives her a bow.
M114 "Nice to meet you, milady."
M124 "That's a first that someone flirts with me this way. I guess you get some point for that, but that doesn't make you less repulsive."
M115 "Haha! Nice try, sonny. Almost every male cultist I know has flirted with her. Though, you should have consulted me first. You see I'm like her father."
M114 looks at the man on the left of the general. He is hunched over and has a long white beard that is connected to his mustache. His hair is stringy and from a distance, his body smells of rotten eggs. Looking down, the young cultist sees that he has giant grasshopper legs.
M124 "Father? More like grandfather if you ask me."
M115 "Don't speak that way to your elders, young lady. Don't forget. I was the one who brought into this brilliant organization."
KARNAT "Enough you two! I'm quite interested in what this new guy can do. Come on then! Don't be afraid and tell us!"
M114 "Okay, Basically I'm immortal. Well, semi-immortal."
The three look at him... tension fills the room. He takes a deep breath and gives them a thumbs up, before demonstrating his immortality. After the said demonstration, they all clap and smile, with Karnat's being the widest of them all.

... The wielders watch as Claire picks up the orange battery. She looks at them and puts her hand out. It confirms their suspicions, it looks like a replica of the other batteries. Knowing their victory, the group jumps and synchronizes a high five.
Claire "We did it! Trial number 4 is COMPLETE!"
Dave "Yo, Cla'bro. Activate that shit. You need them upgrades."
Claires nods and puts the battery over her shoulder. It levitates off her hands and floats above her back. A dozen orange petals appear and construct a single flower around the object before it begins spinning, injecting itself into her back.
Claire "Oh sweet! Vortex battery un... lock? Ummm, guys. This is weird. Why is there a poem?"
Kanji "A poem, you say. Can you read it out?"
Claire "Ok, I guess. Here I go...
Society and progression
Conflicts and aggression
To gain a country's affection
Is the key to evasion
From The All Mother's oppression.
Dave "Yo, what the fuck?! That makes no sense, bro."
Kanji "Very vague and extremely out of place but might be something for us to solve in the future. Is that all? Are there any bars that you can charge?"
Claire "No, Kaney. Just the word "Vortex Battery: The Ninth Prince's Order" and the lyrics underneath it."
Sarah "Enough of that. Show us your new move. If I remember, it was called "Absorb"."
Claire "Alright. I'll give it a go. Now let's see... what can I use? Ah got it!"
Claire leans down and picks up a piece of concrete broken off from the floor. She concentrates, her eyes frowning at the objects but alas nothing happens.
Claire "Welp, that was a dud. Maybe this only works on things I create."
Claire waves her hand and a lollipop appears. She focuses once more and the sugary treat splits into itself in cubes before flying into her hair. She opens her skill window and sees that not a single creation slot was used.
Claire "It works! Awesome!"
Kanji "Ok, that is very useful. Hey, Claire. There are a few things I want to test. First, can it work on broken items?"
Claire "Okay, I'll test it out."
Claire conjures up a stick and breaks it in two with her knee. She tries to convert it into a slot, but her attempts are in vain. She gives her friends the puppy eyes.
Amelia "Oh come now, lass. Let's not get too upset. Say, how about we try something else? Maybe... like armor! See if it's bloody working now that you're stronger."
Claire nods and creates a replica of the armor Amelia used before. Amelia puts it on and she points to Sarah. Sarah looks around and lifts her finger to her face.
Sarah "Wait... me? Ok, sure. Why the fuck not?"
She pulls out her metallic ring and hits the breastplate, but it was too sturdy causing her hand to fly back from the force of impact. Amelia and Sarah then see that the armor disintegrates, and metal pieces drop to the floor before turning into thin air.
?? "Well, that answers your question. May I suggest an experiment, myself?"
Claire "Bestie! You're awake!"
Gwen "That's right. Though I'm a bit embarrassed being knocked out the way I did. I should tell myself to be careful about sneak attacks in the future. But ignore my ramblings, I want to see if you can create organic beings."
Claire "You mean like plants, animals, and other stuff. Oh! I wouldn't mind creating a puppy!"
Gwen just smiles and Claire puts her hands in the air, she imagines the fluffiest cutest dog ever to exist, The Shiba Inu. However, she is then met with no barking and no fluff. She looks to the floor and loses her spark.
Gwen "It's alright, Claire. I guess that organic beings are off-limits. Perhaps, try recreating those black and white cubes from before."
Kanji "We probably shouldn't test that. Just conjuring a small quantity of those metals knocked her out cold."
Gwen "Ok, fair. Then what do you suggest?"
Kanji "I say, we hold off that thought until she reaches level 2. For now, I recommend she pre-summon medical supplies. Since she can exchange them at any time, we can now stockpile items."
Claire "Okie dookie! I will do that. Errr.... what should I make?"
Kanji "The healing bandages are easy to apply, but can only patch minor injuries. Those syringes on the other hand are amazing for lost limbs, but they are harder to use. I say you try your best to balance them."
Claire "Yeah and I should keep them outside my inventory all the time. So I can give them to you guys easier. Maybe I make something.... like this!"
They watched as she pulled something out of thin... to them it looks like a brown ammo belt but the pockets are much larger. Along the belt, there's a triangular sling bag. She tosses the belt into the air and hops off the floor, her body fits between the gap with style and Claire sticks the landing. She slides her hands across the pockets, making 4 syringes. Claire then taps her bag and 4 square-shaped bandages appear inside.
Diana "Bravo! Good job, Claire!"
Claire "Thank you, Diana. Hey, Kaney. We are done, right?"
Kanji "Yeah pretty much. Anyone else has something they want to do or say."
Mina "Umm, this might be pointless. But I think we should name those syringes. Just for fun, you know!"
Sarah "Oh, I got a name! What about Flesh Syringes?!"
Gwen "A bit morbid, but it sticks with the item's function. It gets my approval."
Kanji "Fine, I don't want to debate so I'll just give it to you. From now on, these syringes will be known as Flesh Syringes."
No/Sarah "Nice."
They give each other a fist bump. Azan steps past them and raises his hand.
Kanji "Yes, Azan. You have a question?"
Azan "Yes, it's regarding the map that you have. Does it tell you what-
Claire "Woah! Guys, Look! I can fly!"
Dave "Ah, sick! Let us join you, bro!"
Dave and Amelia hold each other's hands. They all fly around the ceiling of the room. Kanji points to the corner and everyone follows him.
Kanji "Ok, what were you saying?"
Azan "Does it tell you what the next trial is for? As in which aspect, it is?"
Kanji "No, sadly. Is that all? Surely there's more to it."
Azan "Well, it's about the RV. I'm wondering if you can store it in your portal."
Kanji "Wait, we are sticking with the RV plan? Also how large is this RV?"
Azan "Yeah, that's the problem. You see we are adults... we need separate rooms. So there are 11 floors."
Kanji "11 fucking floors! Really?! Why?!"
Adrian "Oh sorry, Kanji. I thought you would like that."
Kanji "Oh... Adrian? You are involved as well. Please explain."
Adrian "I can tell that most of us are a bit homesick. So I was thinking of an RV with different rooms to remind them of home."
Kanji ".... that's not a bad idea. Ok, we will see what everyone thinks. But should we prepare what each floor should have?"
Adrian "Not to worry, Kanji. With all the data I gathered and learned about everyone. I'm quite confident that I got it right. At least, I hope I did."
Mina "Come on, we aren't going to judge you. Just be brave and introduce the rooms to us with a big old smile."
Adrian gives the biggest smile he could give and looks back at Kanji. Kanji chuckles and calls the three birds on the ceiling to come down. They follow Adrian outside and see the sun rising from afar. Its light shines on a colossal RV, on each side of the vehicle are letters that represent each floor. From top to bottom the letters spell "DAMADANSGCK", each letter is accompanied by a trail of different colored fire. Red, White & Black, White, Black, Yellow, Brown, Green, Grey, Purple, Orange, then Blue.
Dave gives the vehicle a blank stare... he walks up and... hugs it?
Dave "It's... it's beautiful!"
Diana "Jesus, Icarus! We're not even in yet!"
Adrian "What does everyone else think?"
Sarah "This is awesome! People are gonna think we are some punk-ass teenagers with that ride."
Noah "True that." "To be honest, it is quite cringy."
Kanji "I'll pass no judgment. Let us go inside."
Inside the first floor of the RV, they find it to be rather bland. There's a large bed at the other end, it has a space-themed blanket and a large drawing board next to it. Getting there would mean passing through a small kitchen that has three upper cabinets, a stove, a toaster, a set of knives, a fan, a microwave, and a frying pan. Kanji opens up the cabinets, in one of them, there's a set of plates, forks, and spoons.
Kanji "Nice, do the other floors have the same kitchen?"
Adrian "Yes, kinda. I made a bit of change to each one. Sorry, that your room doesn't stick out as much."
Kanji "No, that's okay. I like how simple it is. You did a great job."
Adrian then leads everyone up a spiral staircase to the second floor. At first sight, it is more vibrant with the walls painted bright orange and plastered with empty picture frames. There is a pink bunk bed at the other end with a massive window to peer outside. Her kitchen is the same but one of the cabinets is filled with candies and snacks. There's also a small living room with a fancy red rug, a couch, a wide screen tv, and a console with a couple of games on the side.
Claire "THIS IS AMAZING! I LOVE IT! You even add frames for my artwork! Thanks, Adrian!"
Adrian "Ha, awesome. Glad you like it. Okay moving to the next floor..."
The third floor is filled with small glass enclosures, it has a research desk and a floor mattress-style bed right next to it. On the desk are all types of laboratory glassware, a microscope, and a portable in-door safe lighting kit. The kitchen is identical to Kanji's floor.
Gwen "I like your attempts to meet my interest. It's great... but I need to change it up a bit."
Adrian "Well, it's your room so do whatever you please."
They then walk up to the fourth floor. There are posters and books lying near the entrance, all depicting horror, and creepy stories. The kitchen has a coffee maker instead of a frying pan. The bed on this floor is shaped like the gaping mouth of a monster.
Sarah "Ok... that's fucking sick! But why is there no frying pan for my kitchen?"
Noah "I assume you're not the type to cook your own food."
Sarah "True, I just microwave junk food all the time."
They then go further up to the fifth floor. It's exactly like Sarah's floor but instead of books and posters, there are fake corpses on the floor. The walls and windows are painted with splats of blood. Noah sees that there are excessively more corpses under the bed.
Noah "Sweet. Nice." "God, why did I do that in the first place?! At least, they don't smell like corpses."
Adrian "Oh by the way. There are spray cans inside those cabinets if you want the corpses to smell like corpses."
Noah "Right on." "Fuck! God fucking fuck!"
They proceed to the sixth floor. THERE ARE BOOKS EVERYWHERE. Some are even leaking into the stairs The wielders can't see if there is even a bed or a kitchen.
Diana "Jesus Christ! The fuck is wrong with you."
Adrian "Sorry, I just like being near books. I...I'll try to tidy it up later. Anyway, let's just move on!"
Going into the seven-floor, they hear music playing as they enter. From the entrance, they see a speaker playing training music. Next to the speaker is a gym mat, a set of weights, and a fan. The bed on this floor is in the shape of a weight bench with an actual barbell. Diana smiles, she sees a blender in the kitchen. Curious, she checks the cabinets, and her hunch was right! There are enough ingredients to make protein shakes for days.
Diana "This is fucking perfect. Come here, wimp!"
Diana gives him a hug and he blushes. And then they break away... he adjusts his glass and leads everyone to the eighth floor. There's a simple bed and the kitchen has nothing but a barista machine and a bunch of powders and syrups to make all sorts of drinks. There's also an office desk with a curved screen computer monitor.
Azan "Nice, you got the barista machine I wanted."
Adrian "You're welcome. Alright, next floor!"
They move to the ninth floor. The walls are covered with photos of different places around the world. There's an archaeology desk with a globe and an authentic map, there's also a small dinosaur fossil contained in a glass display. This floor has a water bed that can simulate what it's like sleeping on a boat.
Mina "I love it! Thank you, Adrian!"
Adrian "No problem! We are almost done! Let's move to the tenth floor!"
Entering the next floor, it smells very homey and Amelia sees the source of the aroma. A shelf filled with different types of exotic flowers. They notice that this floor has way more windows than the others. There's also a fancy bed and the kitchen has a coffee maker, a tea maker, a waffle presser, a blender, a mixer, and even an oven. Inside the cabinets are baking trays, measuring cups and spoons, and all sorts of other cookware.
Amelia "This is bloody fantastic, lad!"
Adrian "Glad, you like it. Now, let's go to the final floor!"
On the highest floor of the RV, the wielders see disco lights as they enter. Speakers, microphones, a turn table, a karaoke set, a VR headset, a gaming chair with a gaming PC, an RGB-lighted mouse, and an RGB keyboard... this floor has it all. The bed frames also have RGB lights.
Dave "Hell yeah, bro! This is shit! Adbro, I didn't know you were in my house."
Adrian "Don't get it twisted. I just watched some of your streams. You were with me yesterday remember."
Dave "Oh, true. Shit, I forgot lol."
Kanji "Now that everyone knows their floors. Please settle yourselves in and tell me when you're done. We'll depart asap to Ireland."

ToTo's Strange Journey: Underground Delivery
Brian Law Korn was an average guy living an average life until one day he met his friend, Brender who entrusted him with a strange box and a toaster to be delivered to an unknown location. Little did he know this will change his life forever. This is part 1 of the (hopefully) 3 parts long ToTo's Strange Journey series. This is a parody based on the action-adventure manga/anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki
8 84Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

8 122Patchwork System
Notification (cannot be ignored): For being the first being to kill another of its own species after Sublimation, Lyam Aldren is awarded the Title of Cain’s Successor. Let all fear the Kinslayer!!! Lyam Aldren, killer for hire, was just going about his business when he suddenly received a notification from something called the System. Apparently, the entirety of Earth, its denizens and its matter were transported into the world of the System, planted in 'patches' all throughout the infinite world. The world of the Patchwork System is one of challenges, where life is cheap, power is king, and Classes and levels are a thing. In a brutal world, there is perhaps room for a killer with bloodstained hands to find his own way, free of his past. However, his Title and his inherent nature plague him, his fragmented personality laid bare to those with the eyes to see, and if he doesn't become powerful enough to defeat or escape those who would use or destroy him, he will quickly be devoured by the merciless world created by the System. Compared to my previous work, this is a more 'classic' litrpg setup, with clear (if somewhat complex) progression through levels and skill gains, with a 'system apocalypse' setup. Unlike most system apocalypse story protagonists, Lyam is neither a leader nor is he particularly interested in saving his fellow Earthlings. This is a story of a man who is both endangered and set free by the destruction of his old world, as he finds both power, new discoveries, and adventure in a place where his past matters not at all and power is the only language most speak. Later in the story, there will be harem elements, but the first volume is dedicated to Lyam's first months in the System. For those who are more interested in the Heirs of the Hooded King, I am putting it on hiatus as I rework the setting and future story developments a bit.
