After eating with his daughter, She went to sleep in her room while he went to the study to take care of some business, Eron Grey has a lot of businesses he runs from

a pharmaceutical company to a chain of hotels in every capital city in the world to a host of other businesses. He was sitting in front of his laptop when Aisha called

him.

"We found the person who tried to kill Ren."

He stopped typing on his laptop and faced the hologram of her head that had appeared on the table where his laptop was kept on.

"Who is it?"

He asked her with an edge in his voice.

"It's Senator Cullen."

Aisha said curtly.

"Who is Senator Cullen?"

Eron asked with a questionable look on his face.

"Are you sure you don't know who he is sir."

Aisha blurted out with a surprised look on her face but she quickly schooled her expression into one of indifference.

"I'm not supposed to know just anybody because they have senator before their name, but the name Cullen sounds familiar."

"Good point, I can't argue with that."

"Well who is he.?"

Eron asked with a smile, He liked seeing Aisha flustered, she always had this indifferent look on her face when speaking to people other than him and Rennaa.

'She should smile more'

He thought to himself.

"He's the younger brother to Mr Jordan Cullen, one of the presidential candidates for jade country presidential election, He's the one you've been refusing to meet for

a while now, I believe he's scared that you'll support Mrs Erica Jay to win the election that's coming up, giving your past relationship."

Eron smiled and shook his head.

"I actually remember him now, He's the one who kept coming up to me to speak at Ren's party last year."

"Yes sir, he is the same person."

"But everyone knows i'm not really into all this political squabbles."

"They should think you have an ulterior motive for coming to Jade country with the elections coming up."

"That's their business, but why did they want to kill Ren?"

"Well sir, After investigating, It should have been a kidnap attempt but i believe a third party bought out the team he was using and gave them a new objective."

"Interesting. Keep investigating and find out who it is."

"Yes sir."

Aisha's holo disappeared, He kept his hand on his chin and was deep in thought until he heard Ren's door opening and the door to the kitchen opening, He looked at the

time and saw that it was 2:35 in the morning.

'No need to think on it too much, I'll just cross that bridge when i get there'

He walked to the kitchen and saw Ren sitting on the kitchen island with a bowl of cereals in front of her and the cereal box and a bottle of milk beside her, and a

book in her hands. she was reading with one hand while the other held the spoon that was filled with cereal and milk. He grabbed a bowl and a spoon and sat on one of

the chairs attached to the kitchen island and poured cereal into his bowl and started eating. They both ate in silence with Ren taking occasional glances at the book

she was reading. After they both finished eating the cereal, Ren carried the two bowls and took them to the sink to wash them, While Ren was washing Eron took a look

at the book she was reading and it was The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu, a chinese scientist.

After she finished washing them, she went back to the island to sit down.

"Can't sleep?"

Eron asked her after putting the book down.

"Nope, I can sleep, I just woke cause i wanted to eat something."

"Hah, how nice, waking up justcause you want to eat a little something, I never understood how you and your mother were able to do that."

"It's in the genes, it's in my stitchings."

She said with a smirk on her face.

"Haha, that's a really nice one."

Eron said while laughing at his daughter's words, He stood up and walked up to her and gave her a peck on her forehead.

"Get some sleep Ren."

He walked her to her room and waited till she had climbed on her bed before switching off the lights in her room and closing the door slowly and going back to the

study.

"Dad, Dad, Dad"

Eron heard Ren calling him in the morning and when he opened his eyes, all he could see was a younger Ren waking him up and his wife standing by the door but when he

blinked his focus came back and he could see Ren with a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows standing by the desk in the study.

"Aren't you going to school today?"

He asked while taking the cup of hot chocolate from her hands because she was still in her pajamas and her hair was still ruffled from sleeping.

"I don't have any classes today so i'm taking the day off cause you said we'll be going out to see an old friend of yours today."

He raised an eyebrow.

"How'd you know that i'll be going to see a friend of mine today?"

"I didn't but you just confirmed it."

"And when did i say you'll be coming with me."

"Just now, most likely 5 seconds ago."

"Nicely, So go have your wash and get dressed so we'll go"

They left Ren's apartment and went downstairs when Aisha drove the SUV towards them and they got into it.

"Aunt Aisha"

Ren said with excitement as soon as she got into the car, she climbed from the back seat to the front seat and hugged Aisha who smiled and hugged her back tightly, she

was as worried as Eron when she heard that Ren had been attacked but she can rest easy now that she can see that there isn't a single scratch or injury on Ren and by

the way Ren was smiling, She must have spent all night chatting with her father.

"Alright you two, if you keep hugging so tightly we'll be late."

"How's that even possible"

Ren turned around and asked her father who was at the back seat.

"It's physics."

"Really Dad, Really."

Ren raised an eyebrow at her father

Then an explosion rocked the ground and pushed their SUV 10 feet in the air.

5mins before the explosion.

In the sewers in Jade City, 4 armed men were moving forwards, the one in the front was of medium build and was wearing a beanie, with an all black attire that was

reminiscent of a Japanese kimono, he was armed with an assault rifle, a shotgun on his back and an assortment of different kinds of short knives on his vest and

pants. The one directly behind him was wearing a cowboy hat and he was armed with just a glock and two Revolvers on in his pants and another two revolvers in his

jacket. There were two men behind them who were dressed in western ninja attire, one in black and one in white with a visor to cover their eye and they had a certain

resemblance in body build and height, The steps they were taking were spaced the same and they moved in sync.

"Are we there yet?"

A man wearing the cowboy hat spoke to the man in front of him.

"No you fool, could you stop speaking so close to my ear, it's almost like you're shouting"

The man leading them spoke loudly to the man wearing a cowboy hat.

"Okay stop here."

A female voice came from the earpiece that was in their ears.

"I'll just patch into the traffic lights and the police coms to keep them away from here, I can buy you guys 30 mins and after that the shade will be gone."

"Alright, just say when. Hey cowboy set the bombs."

"Roger Roger."

Cowboy set the bombs on the manhole cover and then he set the timer to a minute, he was about to move back before he heard the girl speaking.

"They'll be right above you in 30seconds."

The female voice said and he changed it to 31 seconds then everyone moved back quickly.

Boomm

"Go now."

The leader shot smoke grenades into the air which landed on the ground close to the car that had fallen and all 4 of them climbed out of the sewers.

While the car was rising up into the air, Aisha quickly took off her seatbelt and used her body to cover Ren from the broken glass shards that were flying towards

them. After the car had landed back on the ground.

"Ren Ren!"

Eron called his daughter's name while removing his seatbelt, He knew exactly what was happening, they were being attacked and judging by the way the car flew into the

air, the explosion must have come from the ground.

"Ren!"

Aisha was closer to Ren so after calling her name once, the disoriented Ren responded.

"I'm okay, just a little out of it."

After Ren spoke they heard the sound of something metallic hitting the ground and then smoke started covering their surroundings.

"Good, Alright Ren We'll be out of here soon Ren, Aisha where's Epsilon and Delta.?"

"On their way sir, they'll be here in 10 mins."

"Alright, stay in the car with Aisha, I'll be back in a bit."
