《Maharlika Kingdom》The Start of an Adventure | Prologue + Chapter One

S City.
The capital city of the Province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
In one corner of the city, lies a two story house, and inside one of the rooms upstairs was a young man around late twenties to early thirties reading something on the computer before him with all seriousness.
“Dang, I never knew our country has this kind of buried history. What were those historians even doing? Bunch of good for nothing!” the man said angrily, and when the man had just grabbed his cup of coffee as he wanted to take a sip of it.
He didn’t expect that its handle would suddenly break off, spilling its content of muddy colored water on his desk!
“Really? Dammit! What luck I have tonight!”
The man quickly stood up from his seat and made a move to grab something he could use to wipe off the spilled contents on his desk.
Then he came back from somewhere outside his room and was holding a piece of yellow cloth, and it wasn’t just a simple piece of cloth, but a microfiber wash cloth used to wipe vehicles or any wet surfaces!
The man then slowly wipes off the spilled coffee while mumbling to himself, “But it's still amazing though, I wonder why this kind of history was buried and wasn't taught in school? Hmm...the only explanation would be someone had deliberately hid it and didn’t want anyone learning about it, how nasty”
He was so into his own thoughts that he didn’t even realize that he was wiping off an extended electric outlet that’s full of appliances connected to it.
“Oops!” The young man finally realized what he was doing and hurriedly pulled his hand away before it was too late.
Good thing, there wasn’t any empty outlet or he would have been electrocuted and sent flying, maybe even worse!
Soon after that, he left his room and came back a minute later holding another cup of coffee.
“Having coffee is so nice~” said the young man as he took a sip of his newly brewed coffee.
Soon after, he continued what he was doing earlier, and that was reading something about the buried history of his beloved country, the Philippines, which had caused a storm of controversies among the citizens lately as they started harping about conspiracy theories from the past regimes.
As someone who is just interested in reading and learning things, he didn’t give a damn about what’s happening on the web or the conspiracy theories that people had cooked up.
He just wants to read, learn and absorb as much knowledge as possible.
When he was finally done reading the so-called buried history of his home country, he switched to surfing through the web until he got bored with it and decided to head to bed after washing up.

The man stretched his body while on the bed, and he couldn’t help but say in satisfaction, “Hmmm~ that’s so good~!”
Soon after that, he slowly fell asleep.
Meanwhile, in another corner of the world, sat an observatory.
A Western man was sitting in front of an apparatus that observed anything that’s moving outside of Earth while having a cup of noodles.
“Ohh, another shooting star” said the man, and then out of nowhere, he suddenly closed his eyes and started mumbling under his breath.
And when his nearby colleague, an Indian man saw what he was doing, he couldn’t help but open his mouth and said something that he had probably repeated countless times with how frustrated his face was!
“Are you seriously doing that? That’s something we would only do when we were kids”
The western man snorted and said, “Ohh, shut up, Ryan! It doesn’t hurt to do it, you should too”
Ryan just rolled his eyes and said, “Enough of that, see the location of where that rock landed and send a report if it landed on US soil”
The Western man did as he was told and checked it out, “Nothing, but it landed somewhere in the Philippines”
The Indian man raised an eyebrow and laughed happily and said, “Philippines? They’d surely love to hear this news as they would be able to sell any minerals they can find on that rock”
Unbeknownst to them, it wasn’t just an ordinary stray space rock.
A few moments earlier.
A bright streak flashed across the skies of the Philippines, and like a homing missile, it flew towards the house where the young man from earlier lives, and just as it was about to crash into the house. The light or whatever it was, suddenly came into an abrupt halt before his room’s window and hovered there for a couple of seconds, and started beating like a heart while it emitted a soft glow.
It didn’t remain in that state for long as then it slowly hovered forward and slowly passed through the window effortlessly and arrived inside the room littered with many trinkets that the young man had probably invented, and a few certificates hanging on the walls that he had gotten from either schools or institutions.
The orb of light slowly floated down and entered the young man’s chest, and before long, a light cocoon slowly enveloped him as he disappeared from his room.
And along with his disappearance, what followed was a burst of light that enveloped the whole world that lasted for a couple of seconds.
Then weird things started happening as the things inside his room slowly disappeared, and his photos in their family photos in their photo albums or portraits on display in their living room slowly disappeared.
Any place that had traces of him was forcefully erased, and anything that’s related to him was gone.

He was literally deleted like an unwanted file from a computer that even the recycle bin didn’t want anything to do with him!
The next day.
His mother came to his “room”, which is now devoid of everything, even dust that the human eye wasn’t able to see was not spared from that cleansing, and his mother just started cleaning the place up like there was nothing amiss.
It was like that episode of Teen Wolf, where Stiles' existence was erased from the memories of his friends and loved ones.
“Aigoo~ how come I didn’t know that we actually had a vacant room?” mumbled the young man’s mother in confusion, but that question didn’t linger long as she was quickly absorbed into cleaning thinking of how she can get an extra income for renting out the place for any borders.
Meanwhile, somewhere unknown.
Another young man is seen lying on his own small pool of blood beside a rocky bed beside a calm and crystal clear river.
If any modern man was to witness this scene, they would quickly realize that the person was dressed in ancient traditional clothing, something that could have only been seen in the early days of man in this land.
More accurately, in the tribal days of the Philippines.
And like a miracle, the young man lying in the pool of blood slowly opened his eyes in a flutter and abruptly sat up and started gagging like he had just eaten a fly.
“Cough! Cough! Damn, my throat...hurts. Water, I need water” said the young man in a hoarse voice, and without even realizing where he was, he quickly crawled towards the river and started scooping a handful of water and drank it with delight and satisfaction.
“Wow, why does this water taste so good!?” The young man couldn’t help but exclaim in shock and delight when he realized that the river had a tangy but slightly sweet flavor at the same time.
“Huh?? W-what?”
Then something clicked in his mind when he saw his blurry reflection from the surface of the water.
“W-who are you!?”
The young man couldn’t help but shout in shock as he quickly turned around and almost fell on the water, but when he did that, realization finally hit him.
He quickly turned around again, ducked on the ground and faced the river like he was trying to kiss it and looked at the face reflecting from the water surface.
“Oh my god, why am I someone else!? Sh*t! This face is so good looking! Dammit! That’s not the point, sh*t!” he exclaimed in horror as he stumbled down on his pool of blood while touching his face, and then when he looked down and saw what he was wearing, it was immediately followed by another scream of horror!
“What the f*ck!? What are these clothes!? No, more importantly, where the f*ck am I and what the hell is happening!?”
He yelled in horror, and when he abruptly stood up, he was suddenly struck with a bout of dizziness and fell limping towards the ground, unconscious.
And he still had the energy to mouth the words, “F*ck this” before everything went black.
A couple of minutes later, the sound of rushed footsteps and voices appeared, the sound of their activity slowly grew in volume as the distance between them and the unconscious young man lessened.
“Are you sure your brother Rakin ran towards here?” asked one of the older men, more accurately men wearing sword like weapons strapped on one side of their waist.
The only young kid among them, around nine years old, was pale white as he stuttered to answer, “Yes f-father, Brother Rakin ran towards Huran to lure the Tigris away from us. I h-hope he’s okay”
“Let’s go, hurry up!” said the Rajah as he urged his men.
“”Yes Rajah!!””
Not even that long later, the group finally arrived at the shore of the river, and the first thing they noticed was the pool of blood on the ground, followed by a young man lying unconscious beside it, his status unknown.
When the people saw that, their faces darkened, especially when they saw his bloodied figure.
“Rakin!” The Rajah hurriedly ran towards the young man and placed his ear before Rakin’s chest, and quickly felt relieved when he heard his heart beating.
The Rajah looked at his men and angrily yelled at them saying, “What are you waiting for!? Get him on the stretcher!”
But there were a couple of things that they had failed to notice. Rakin was pursued by a Tigris, but he didn’t die, and most of all, even if he survived an attack from it, how could he still be alive without so much of a scratch anywhere on his body?
Soon after, some of the men veered off from the group and acted as their scouts, while the rest carried the unconscious Rakin back home.
And the young kid from earlier finally felt relieved, and once again became a bright kid as he constantly talked along the way, asking a lot of questions towards the warriors who happily answered him.
This time, these people didn’t know that the person that they had just rescued would bring a large storm that would bring bloody changes to the world!
A young man, now trapped inside the body of another!
This is the beginning of his legendary adventure that will be remembered throughout history!

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
