《Legacy of Earth》Chapter 5 – Codename: Naga

Alon fell to the ground after being punched in the face by the Second Pilot, meanwhile, Henri, Wu and Tsuna stood around with an indifferent look on their faces as though this was not a surprise. Only Marina, immediately stood in between them despite the Second Pilot towering over him and his sister.
"I hope you know why I punch you right?" He asked Alon.
"I nearly crashed the Ronin and the Kataphract into the Ship plain and simple," Alon said with a nod. He wasn't a hero he knew what he did was reckless and that he could have gotten everyone, including his family, killed for his actions.
"Not only that, but you also disobeyed orders." He continued as he offered a hand to Alon getting him up. That's right, Alon remembered that his orders were to just remain to the side and don't go off being a hero. All that was the result of him getting his emotions unchecked.
"That too," Alon said looking down with guilt.
"However, I am not blind to say that your actions while reckless, helped us fend off the Orthus in their attack." He said this time offering his hand to shake him with a smile. "You did well on your first sortie, my name is Dain Thorfinnson."
"Alon Akunawa." Alon smiled despite the pain in his cheek as he shook his hand. "I guess you can take my Gestalt Adapter."
"Rookie Luck too." Dain chuckled as he patted him on the shoulder. "We'll debrief you later, and since now that you're part of the team welcome to Memento Mori."
He walked away to help Wu as both Tsuna and Henri approached him and his sister.
"You okay Rookie?" Tsuna asked him, a little worried after the punch Dain have given him.
"It's fine, I deserved that anyway since I did get reckless." Alon shrugged even though he knew that he got carried away. While he did help, he still no doubt disobeyed orders so that punch was justified all things considered. "Good cause any other rookie would have gotten that little victory over their head, trust me a lot of rookies end up like that." Henri shrugged while Tsuna nodded.
"Well, that aside let's go see Sumeragi and finalize your standing into the Faction." He said as they made their way to the bridge again to find Hayato laughing from the damages done to the Luna Sea.
"You're one crazy bastard you know that?" Hayato said as Dain was amused too.
"Yeah, that was kind of by accident," Alon replied sheepishly, now beginning to be embarrassed from what he had done.
"I mean reckless piloting skills aside, I think there's hope for you," Dain said with a nod of approval. He looked like he was a few years older than he and Tsuna were but it was hard to tell.

"That being said as the Commander-in-chief of Memento Mori I welcome you, but as an Operator, you'll need to go by a Codename instead for safety reasons." Hayato elaborated as Alon nodded. It made sense, they are technically a terrorist organization as such they needed to use a different name to prevent being scrutinised by any government they end up with.
"Can I choose my own or am I assigned one?"
"Up to you, we can assign you one or maybe you have something more creative in mind?" Tsuna elaborated to him as he showed him a badge which had the engraving of a bird of prey on it. "In my case, I go by the Code name of Suzaku."
"My code name is Fenrir," Dain said as he tossed him the badge he owned but thankfully Alon caught it and revealed a Wolf and the words Fenrir labelled into it.
"So do you wanna make your code name or we'll give you one?" Hayato asked him but Alon kept quiet. Pondering the meaning of their codenames as Alon knew the meaning of each one.
Both of them use the name of a Mythological beast with an element focused on Earth which is somewhat ironic. Alon thought taking a deep breath wondering what he'll choose the meaning of his. Tsuna chose a Suzaku which is a Firebird and a Dain chose a Fenrir which is a powerful Direwolf. Interestingly Tsuna's code name is associated with the Sky while Dain's code name is associated with the Earth. Well, I could go for an Aquatic Code name and I know just the name for it.
"Naga." Alon finally said. "I want my code name to be Naga."
"In that case welcome to Memento Mori, Operator Naga," Hayato said shaking his hand once again. "We'll get you your badge in a bit but for now Tsuna and Dain will train you in a bit."
"What about my family?" Alon wondered, sure he's now part of the Team but what's to say about his family. Will they remain here as hostages or will they be able to leave but under their protection. This caused Hayato to have a confused look while Tsuna and Dain exchanged glances this further did not reassure Alon.
"Well if your family can operate certain machines or run any tasks where they're free to work, but for now they'll be registered as Civilians." Hayato shrugged as he turned his attention to another Crew mate who was gonna discuss something with him as Tsuna and Dain escort him out of the bridge.
"Don't worry Naga, I'm sure we'll find out a way for your family," Dain said patting him on the back. "As for names, you'll need to get used to calling me and Tsuna over here Fenrir and Suzaku both here and on Combat."

"Not even when we're on an off day?" Alon asked confused and concerned.
"Yeap." The two answered them. Well, it made sense, they're no longer civilians as such to protect their identities they have to take the precaution of using different names. "Now come on, let's me show you our favourite part of the Ship.
"Alright, lead the way Fenrir." Alon smiled as he followed them out of the bridge.
[Legacy of Earth]
Alon just sat in awe as he entered a large Hinomoto-styled dojo that he, Dain and Tsuna entered into.
"What is this place?" Alon asked aloud as the two exchanged smirks.
"This will be our training ground, where we'll be beating into you the skills needed to survive without a Mech," Dain said as he and Tsuna put on gloves and then extended their hands at a nearby rack of rods that Alon had just noticed began to rattle two of them flew into their hands as they both ignited with a loud hum!
"Whoa!" Alon shouted in both surprise and awe as Tsuna was a slender crimson blade while Dain's had two silver blades on each end both of which are made of pure hard light energy. "You two have Sabers!"
Hard-light Sabers, simply known as Sabers, are an elegant weapon from a bygone era as these date back to the Golden Age of Terra and now only a handful can build and replicate such weapons. These days, they are often handed to highly trained soldiers.
"Every Operator has one as a sign of not only their membership into the Memento Mori but also their skill as a fighter," Dain said as he and Tsuna spun their blades around confidently effectively showing off to Alon their blades. "When the time comes, you'll get your Saber so you can show off as well."
"Provided I don't get cut down in training," Alon chuckled nervously as the two deactivated their Sabers instead. "So where do I begin?"
"Alon!"
The trio found Marina sprinting towards him and then proceeded to pull him into a hug as he twirled around for a bit, he heard Dain cough uncomfortably causing him to quickly let go of Marina.
Right, just a sister. Alon though hoping he wasn't blushing. "What's wrong you seem happy?"
"For one, you survived your first launch!" She exclaimed making a number one gesture. "Second, I've decided to stay and help out with the repairs as part of the Hangar Crew!"
"What!" Alon nearly shouted both in fear and in terror. The main reason he joined was to make sure that she or their parents don't end up working for them out of fear of getting into harm's way. "Why? You don't even know how a Mobile Worker operates if you fell face-first into a control panel."
"Siscon," He heard Tsuna comment in a low voice while Dain stifle a laugh. This was a common thing for them to deal with as Alon is a highly overprotective older brother and he would often scold her for even the most minor things if it meant she'd get hurt, not to mention he would often intimidate them into making sure they don't hurt her.
"I'll have you know I've taken classes for such a thing in case you do end up joining the Army!" She replied placing her hands on her hips.
"I think the little sister is a bit overprotective too," Dain commented in amusement as Alon focused on Marina who was pouting with the same pose as before.
"Well there's no use arguing further with you fine but you better be careful, what if something crashes into the ship?" Alon commented.
"The ship to explode killing everyone inside." Both Dain and Tsuna commented in unison.
"I'll be fine don't worry about me, now I gotta go. Wu is gonna teach me everything about the Hangar." She said elbowing him as she left the room, Alon signed as he turned to Dain and Tsuna both of whom have their arms crossed with an amused look on their faces.
"What?" Alon asked though he knew full well that it was the look of someone about to make fun of him for being overprotective towards Marina.
"Are you two in a Ptolemaic Relationship?" Dain asked in amusement.
"What?"
"Never mind," Dain shook his head and then placed his sabre into his belt followed by Tsuna chuckling at the sight. It was normal for Alon to get teased for being overprotective towards Marina, he was more or less his main motivation for this as he decided to set aside his dreams of exploring the Galaxy for her and their parents knowing the dangers their situation had brought upon them.
"Well once we finish the tour of Luna Sea we'll be beginning your training," Tsuna said as he handed him a list of things that he'll be doing as a daily routine. "Because we'll be heading off to our next operation once we've managed to repair and regroup."
"Do we have more allies besides the crew of the Luna Sea?" Alon asked now curious about any other members in the future.
"Nope." They both answered.
"Fuck." Alon muttered, this meant that the Crew of Luna Sea are more or less the only members of Memento Mori. This also means that they're very much understaffed to be able to face off against both the Sovereign and the Principality as a whole.
More and more, Alon begins to wonder if fate awaits him and his family in the future.
