《Daydream of Gods》40 Flood: Beast level

Oliver looked at the picture of a man picking the colorful flowers in this beautiful forest, the animals surrounding him like a princess from a fairy tail, and thought that it might have given some people serene feeling.
Of course that would be the case, only if the flower wasn’t known for its drugging effects, the animals weren’t bloodthirsty beasts with teeth and bodies which scientist might wonder how they can live like that in the first place, and if the man didn’t look like a third rate villain with a face which almost screamed ”I am corrupt noble who abuses his power to steal money and do horrible things to women for my pleasure”
Honestly this dude had such a punchable face that if Oliver was somebody else that person would have probably already jumped and sucker punched him into the throat, well that was a joke but it wasn’t far from the truth.
The man laughed with a cheerful smile while plucking the flowers.
??? “ hahahah, so many flowers, this harvest is bountiful”
Seeing this Oliver couldn’t help but sigh, now he was talking to himself, could this dude fulfill anymore villainous stereotypes.
The man looked at one of the minotaurs that was staring at his hands.
He took one of the flowers and shook it in front of the creatures eyes with a smile.
??? “hehehe I know you want it but you cant have it, as long as you follow my orders I will give it to you”
Oliver looked at him pitifully.
Oliver{scratch that, he could get even more cliché, he also just gave out the fact that, that flower is probably whats controlling the animals in some way, honestly I pity whatever organization this dude is in}
Oliver first instinct at seeing him was to kill him but that thought quickly disappeared as he thought more about it.
If this guy was working alone that would solve it, but honestly what were the chances of that happening, and even if that was the case he didn’t know what would happen to the beasts under his control.
If they were few it wouldn’t be a big problem, but if they weren’t and they went on a rampage since their master was gone it might lead to a disaster in the town.
The best option is to leave the police work to the police, thankfully Oliver already met the captain of the town security, the only problem was if he would believe him, and if he was like Oliver in the past he probably wouldn’t, but he couldn’t know until he tried.
While he was thinking the man picking the flowers plucked all of them and started to leave.
Oliver first discarded the idea of following them, he wasn’t found but he was here from the beginning if he followed him there was a high chance he would be found, after all he had no abilities connected to stealth.
He wasn’t assassin, and liked fighting, he had no intention of becoming someone sneaky, if he had to kill someone he would just walk straight through the door crush the bodyguards and meet the final boss at the end.
After Oliver couldn’t see them anymore he waited for ten more minutes and got out of the bushes, he started to head towards the town.
Oliver let ought a sigh, he couldn’t fight minotaurs, but he wasn’t disappointed, just because he couldn’t fight them today didn’t mean he couldn’t fight them tomorrow.
Whats more after he thought about it, he came to the conclusion that the guards would probably hire hunters to help deal with the situation, and he someone who was close with Migras and had already showed his power would be among them.

Unknowingly a smile crept on his face at the scene in his head of being surrounded by opponents while giving it his all and dashing in through the battlefield full of excitement and strength while crushing his enemies with overwhelming power, testing his limits to the max.
“hehehe” Oliver couldn’t help but chuckle, he couldn’t wait for the battle.
After Oliver arrived in the city he saw that it was already getting late, he decided to go meet with Flood and have dinner, he wanted to hear her opinion as well before telling Migras, since he decided to be more careful he decided to consult with the book loving God when it came to such situations.
After he arrived at the inn he saw the God surrounded by books, which looked like a small child surrounded by toys and couldn’t help but think that the God of Librarians would probably suit her more that the God of Water.
He waited there for a few minutes and Flood looked at him.
Flood [what]
Oliver shrugged his shoulders.
Oliver ”noting much, I just thought we could grab a dinner, also I would like to consult you about something, since I know you are pretty knowledgeable”
Oliver really thought so, if we are talking about knowledge who could compete with the God of librarians.
Flood looked at him with a bit of dissatisfaction.
Flood[its rude to call me god of librarians]
Oliver widened his eyes a bit, but the smile on his face didn’t leave for even a second, of course inside he trembled a little, did … did she just read his mind.
Oliver made confused expression”what do you mean ”
Flood [no use pretending, I can hear your thoughts]
After answering she turned around and continued reading her book.
Cold sweet ran down Olivers back, after all he was a man, and we already made it clear that Flood, like every god in human form was extremely beautiful, so it was normal for him to have mhm… impure thoughts so to say, from time to time, which were forced down since he knew they wouldn’t happen.
But if she read his mind… then.
Oliver took a deep breath and a second before replaying, this experienced warrior just made a mistake, if it were to happen on a battlefield he would have been dead.
Oliver ”hmm since when, and also do you only hear… or can you see them ”
He barely didn’t choke at the last part, cause if that was the case, considering how Flood would be with him for a long time he wouldn’t know how to look her in the eyes anymore.
Flood however just laughed a little like she had just seen second-grader hit himself in the face while trying to show off.
Flood shook her head.[don’t worry, I don’t know what you are thinking about, but it only happens from time to time, its not constant, or something I can initiate at will, it happens randomly and rarely ]
Hearing it Oliver let out a breath of relieve….{wait it happens randomly, has it happened before, when, what did you see }
But Oliver decided not to pry further, some stuff were better left untold, and he decided from now on to be more careful with his thoughts.
Oliver quickly changed the topic.
Oliver ”…so are you coming”
Flood nodded.
Flood[just let me finish the page in five minutes and we are going]
Oliver decided to go to his room to check his equipment while waiting.
Before they left the Sea-people kingdom he had received a few stuff, chainmail made from the scale of the Washer he caught which has good defense and durability, pants which were easy to move in, with decent defense also made from the Washer, and boots with good defense, durability and easy to move with.

Honestly he had wanted something enchanted with magic or something, but the response of the king was that the enchantment is like spices in coking it is more used on bad ingredients to compensate for their shortcomings, but the Washer he had caught is top notch level beast, random enchantment would do more bad than good.
Magic was advanced but it was still restricted based on the level of the magician and what he specialized in, and no magician who could do enchantment of that level was in the city they were in, Oliver had asked how the capital of the sea people wouldn’t have one, but the king had answered that the Enchanters of that level were really needed so basically there was more demand than supply so to say, and most of them worked like hired hands, you needed to pay, then wait for them to do the job when its convenient for them.
But none the less the equipment he currently had was still pretty good, since the Washer was king level beast, of course king level doesn’t mean that they are as powerful as the King species, it was just his classified power level.
The beast classification was divided based on the power, and ranks of the beast like a whole and in their species.
There were 8 classifications
“Normal level” being the weakest, everything below the next level is included in that one, basically everything that was weak was included in that power level, including babies and adult beasts, more than a proper power level, it would be more accurate to say that anything that is below certain power level was included here.
Then “General level”, it was the most commonly seen level for the beasts and animals which attack humans, normal level beasts don’t attack humans so often and aren’t too strong, while general class has power and is more aggressive, while the Normal class beast could be dealt with by a group of villagers in most cases, here the chances of that happening were slim, the beasts of that level needed a group of hunters or someone experienced in beasts fight for the job.
Then after general is “Lord level”, every next level can issue commands to the previous power level of the same species usually, unless the species acts individually, those beasts have a bit more intelligence as well, those beasts are at silver rank hunter level in most cases, but again this counts only for a group verses an individual beasts, if it is one v one the beast have advantage, usually two-three silvers are needed.
Next is the “King level” also known as ‘Special level” depending on the type of beast, the Washer Oliver fought, which he only managed to survive thanks to his op skill Lifeline, was at that power level, if he didn’t have that one he would have most definitely died back then, honestly luck played a huge part in that fight, if the washer hadn’t eaten him, giving Oliver literal access to its insides and had been a bit smarter Oliver would have died even with lifeline.
Those were the levels normal hunter could handle, their titles were taken from human society, their title showed that humans could still fight them, they were known as the lower four, the next power levels were known as the upper four.
They are “Country level”, the smaller kingdoms in the big Kingdom were also considered countries of their own, beasts of the level can take on a country and have a chance of winning.
Then “Kingdom level”, the level of the four big Kingdoms, the Kingdom of Fire, Water, Air, or Earth.
The King species were at that level, they can create trouble for the whole Kingdom they were in if they moved, that’s why they were so heavily emphasized that even Oliver was explained about them when they saw that he didn’t know them, they were that dangerous.
Then Natural level, those beasts could definitely destroy a small Kingdom if they wished, and ruin around half of the Big Kingdom if they wished, natural was referring to a natural disaster, like a huge earthquake splitting the Kingdom and engulfing everything with no one being able to stop it, but those creatures were extremely rare, actually the higher the power the fewer such beasts exist, the upper four levels were very rarely seen, that is also the reason for the name of the last one.
“Mystical level”, these beasts or animals exist mainly in legends, some people even don’t know why such a power level existed, since if that power level were to show its power people think that it would be around the power level of the gods, so “gods on earth ” should be more suitable, nobody and noting would be able to stop them.
As it can be seen by the names, these beasts were not considered something humans can easily take on, of course there were some individuals who could fight them if need be, but they were considered the strongest in the world, and there was no guarantee that they would win, that’s why they were knowns as upper four, there was a huge gap in power between every power level, especially between king level and country level that is said to the bottleneck of many beasts and only few could break it, and the gap grows wider the further in power level you go, a normal level could sometimes defeat a general level but above general level that was almost impossible.
That’s why Migras was so impressed when he had heard Oliver defeated a king level beast, even if it was through luck, it was still a huge achievement.
While thinking about many different things someone knocked on Oliver door after he opened it he saw Flood.
Flood[are you ready]
Oliver nodded”yes lets go”
They started to head to the exit.
Flood [where are we going ]
Oliver “how about the restaurant we dined before in, I want to talk with someone after I hear your opinion”
Oliver wanted to inform Migras after consulting with Flood and he knew that, that guy visited that place quite often.
Oliver thought about it for a second and a mischievous smile appeared on his face.
Now that he thought about it, how would the guy who ten years followed a girl, react to a literal goddess, he didn’t know but one thing was certain.
It should be funny.
Flood completely oblivious to her saints thought, couldn’t help but wonder what she should order, and an innocent smile appeared on her face, which attracted quite a few gazes.
Thankfully nobody paid attention to the contrast between the smiles of the God and the saint, or they might wonder what was this untrustworthy looking guy going to do with innocent looking beauty.
