After the sun rose and it looked to be a beautiful day everyone was doing going about their day normally, four people however were sitting on a table and had grim expressions, or it would be more accurate to say three people and a god.

Hades, Day, Night and Inferno tried to figure out what to do.

Hades ”Inferno do you really cant help us more than just telling is that there is something here, location or at least direction would be very helpful”

After travelling with them for several days Hades started to speak with Inferno more comfortably, and Inferno didn’t mind, unlike how Night talked to him, respect could be heard in Hades voice, but instead of him Day or Night answered the lords questions.

Day shook his head ”he says that is his limit, if he uses his power he would be able to pinpoint the location, but we all know he cant do that”

Night”I have question, how do these people don’t know what is going on, according to inferno the density of magic power or whatever here is higher, how did no one noticed that”

Day was curious as well, and looked at the god and the lord for answers, but Inferno didn’t seem to know the answer as well.

Hades thought for a second, the reason why it wasn’t found was simple, this town was too unimportant.

The central continent was divided into the four kingdoms, but in those Kingdoms there were other smaller kingdoms who are under the banner of the big one, they own territory in it and control it and pay tax to the big kingdom in return for being free, in return there is no war with the big kingdom and they can request for help in case of emergencies.

This situation however could last only for one reason, “Danger”, simply put this world was too dangerous, Hades, Day and other like them are the exception, most people let alone fend off a flock of Croaks or fight a king Croak would die from the normal one, the reason why the humans and the subspecies like them managed to survive in groups was all due to three reasons ,first they didn’t fight with each other easily, the four big kingdoms fought each other for territory but all of them were huge and could afford that, the Kingdoms under their banner would not even dream of doing something so self-destructive, second they created specific units to deal with all Kinds of situations and emergencies making them manage all situations they could think of and prepare fast for those they couldn’t, and last they spread their resources so that they could maximize the benefits

The small Kingdoms also had armies, guards, military weapons and etc, but those were mainly used for defense as they were a resource as well, after all this was a world where Titans, Demons and even Gods existed, those things were necessity they could not lose, most importantly all those things were limited, even if there was still separation in between the people sometimes they all had a vague understanding of what they could and could not do.

But for survival the Kingdoms would sacrifice the few for the many, this town belonged to the Avia Kingdom, it was the bird people kingdom which wasn’t well off, so they wouldn’t send stuff like expensive magic detectors here.

Hades knew about this town, he actually knew about most towns which are not far from the prison, so he knew that there was nothing too useful here, no resources could be found close to it, so if we were to be honest, it wasn’t worth protecting even if something did happen, but he didn’t want to say that to the kids.

Hades”they probably don’t have items that can measure it, or just thought that it isn’t a problem even if it’s a bit high, if I have to be honest even I don’t know how the rise of magic would take their life as it usually it doesn’t cause harm”

Inferno heard hades and explained.

Day frowned ” he said that usually you would be right, but here its different, this magic has special attribute to it, for some reason it is turning into the elemental power of life, and it is doing so by sucking the life energy of the people here, it is like slow poison that makes you feel tired, until it depletes your life and you die, and it looks like it started to deplete ours as well, since we entered”

Night”ok so we just need to find the reason and stop it, it doesn’t change anything right, if anything we still came to the beginning of the conversation, how to find it”

Yeas this was what they wanted to talk about in the first place, they needed information but they just didn’t know how to get it, Hades could try to find a place to buy information but that had its own set of problem, he was a wanted man by the Kingdom, several days had already past since they left the prison, even if there werent poster with his face all around the place people who were well informed would know, Day and Night were in the same position, and even if they weren’t, who would sell information to a child, usually he would tell them to become hunters but they could not do that in the Kingdom of Fire, if they were small criminals they might pass but just the fact that they escaped from the “Inferno” prison made them too dangerous, if they went to another of the four kingdoms it would be fine, but here the hunters wont damage their relationship with the whole Kingdoms for a single person.

So there was only one choice left, they needed to sneak around and listen to rumors, it all depended on luck.

Hades”in the future we really need an organization which would provide us with information, thankfully we have the money”

All noded in response.

Night looked around the table and spoke “so how are we gonna split”.

Everyone on the table was a person who knew what needed to done, no more clarification was needed.

Usually Hades would have been the leader in that situation, but as he saw that Inferno didn’t talk he didn’t do so as well, this proved that the fire God wanted Day to grow.

Day ”how about this, I and Inferno would investigate alone while Hades, you would go with Night”

Night”BUT WHY, I can go alone” Night really didn’t like to be treated differently.

Day explained carefully ”the reason is simple, people would look strange at a kid going alone, and if the police gets involved we will have problem”

Night however wasn’t convinced ”but you know I can take care of myself, and also, you are going alone, isn’t the same”

Day”you know we currently cant risk it, we both know that I am good at laying while you are not, its better if Hades is with you, then it would just look like a big and small brother are walking around”

Night couldn’t argue with that, he was a bit like inferno, he was proud and didnt want to admit it, so he just accepted the facts quietly looking displeased.

Day looked at Hades to see if he had a problem with that, but the latter didn’t seem to mind, Day once again felt glad that this reliable guy came with them.

He then gave Inferno a stern look.

Day ”you will have it easier gathering information, nobody would suspect at cat, you can go to places we cant, so we depend on you, don’t play around”.

Inferno let out a breath [I know,I know don’t worry you can count on me] but even if he was saying that inferno would have really been playing around, after all he was bored at the moment, for him there was no danger, neither was for Day, the only person here he cared about, but because that same person wanted him to try he was gonna try doing it

After they decided on the plan, they stood up and walked away.

After he went far from them, Day turned around and looked at the direction Night went with slightly concerned expression.

Even if he explained the reason why he sent Night and Hades together he missed the main one, his brother had an instinct which detected danger, which was developed cause he had the habit of getting into them, very often at that, so the main reason he sent Hades was to protect him, this unknown town was simply to strange to send him alone.

Later that day they all met at the center area of the town, all except Inferno had a disappointed expressions.

Day”did you find anything”

Inferno however shook his head’.

Inferno[no, do you know how many people tried to kidnap me, I barely had time to look since I had to run from them, I really wanted to burn them, not being able to use my power sucks]

Hearing this Day let out a breath, he wasn’t surprised that people would want to take cat Inferno, he knew that the god was beyond cute in the cat form but he really hoped the latter would find some information.

Inferno[but I got an idea, how about we look for the mages in this town, some probably should have noticed something is wrong ]

Day however just furrowed his brows and gave Inferno a look like he was looking at an idiot, he was trying to do that the whole day, while the god just realized something that shouldn’t even be said in the first place… but there was still no result.

This town was too little in the first place, maybe if it was in the kingdom of wind, which was famous for their magicians, but here it was a long shot.

Whats more how many mages would be able to detect something that even Hades and he couldn’t, and he wasn’t boasting he was just a realist, he knew he was strong, and from infernos words and from his fight with him he knew that Hades was even more so, even if they werent specialist in searching their methods were nothing to scoff at.

They all stood in silence, thinking of what they should do.

They werent too disappointed, this was not something easy in the first place, it was entirely based on their luck.

After they finished their talk they went to their inn, this cycle continued for several more days, after all they werent in a hurry, from Inferno they found out that the people here wouldn’t die anytime soon, it would take months or even years, of course they had no intention to wait that long, Inferno especially was getting more and more bored, let alone the people passing away from the Life drain he would incinerate them long before that if he had to spend a month here, he just got out of prison, he didn’t want to be stuck in another one.

The group didn’t do the same every day, only insane person would do the same action expecting different result, they searched the town, shared information, finally found places that quite a few people gathered and even at what hours, Hades even found several information dealers as well, but he still couldn’t approach them, which reminded him of the problem he needed to solve which concerned Day and Night as well but he left that for now.

After a few days however their efforts finally bore fruit.

Day”so you are saying that there is a person in this town with the “search ” skill”

Hades noded.

Hades” but I don’t know where to find them, I happened to find this information listening to a hunter, it looks like this guy doesn’t want other to know about him or her”

Day didn’t look discourage, they have spent almost a week looking for information, they finally found someone who might actually solve their problem, spending a bit more time did not discourage anyone except Inferno, but nobody cared about that.

They had a location and started to take turns to look around the hunter office here to find the person, after all this was not a big town so there was only one office for hunters they soon found several suspects, four people in total.

Day” ok tomorrow everyone would follow a person, same way how we split looking for information”

Night however wasn’t happy.

Night”wouldn’t it be better if I go alone, there are four of them and four of us”

But Day shook his head, Night didn’t speak more, he knew he couldn’t change his mind.

The next day they executed their plan.

The target of Hades and Night was black tanned girl with short hear, called Sera.

Night”I am still hungry, can you give me money to go buy something, it would take me five minutes”

Hades wasn’t overly familiar with Night and didn’t know how to refuse him, so he gave him money without much thought, after all he knew that this guy listened to his brother.

Hades”ok, but come back fast I will continue to follow, i saw her mission she would head to the jungle, come fast after you are done, and don’t run on your own”

Night nodded in agreement and run to a food store.

Seeing this Hades relaxed and continued his thing.

The girls was collecting herbs, she collected them, then stopped looked around like at random, and then walked again, ”stumbling” into more herbs for her quest, Hades saw the way she did it and knew he had found their target but suddenly a thought came into his head, he was too absorb to noticed, Night… didn’t follow him.
