《Daydream of Gods》7 John and Water

Flood [long time no see, John]
Flood didn’t know how to react, long ago they were friends but after parting ways in not the nicest manner, they haven’t met each other and then he suddenly had helped the humans seal them. Even is her opinion that was a bit over the board, and now that they met again she didn’t know what to ask him, or to be exact she knew what she wanted to ask him but didn’t know how to ask him.
John looked at flood who had a lot of thoughts in head and smiled, out of all of them he or now probably she was the most timid one, they were gods, they could quite literally take reality for a ride but even then she still liked book and fantasy stories, she was like a weeb god, she wasn’t good at interactions either but that was the same for him so he couldn’t really say anything and there was no need as well, after all for gods interaction wasn’t important as their life didn’t depend on each other as in human society, but even with all that said she was a good friend.
While John was thinking of the past he felt something that brought him to reality and spoke first.
John [I know that we have a lot of things to talk about, but can you make your followers stop attacking everyone at the prison, I know you must be angry but please hear me out and then start killing them ]
Flood was confused and surprised, she hadn’t done anything yet.
Flood[Followers, what are you talking about I didn’t make anyone attack anyone …]
Flood looked at Oliver who was just silently spectating their discussion even if he couldn’t understand John, and came to a guess as to what had happened.
Flood[yea sorry my bad] the Deths stopped attacking the people in the dome and swam away, they had received words from their God to back away so they couldn’t disobey.
As the silence was now gone thanks to Oliver over there, Flood spoke she had many questions and would hear him out but she absolutely had to know one thing first.
Flood[First, Have you come to kill me]
Flood asked indifferently, after all John had helped someone seal them now that they were free he might have come to just remove her.
As Oliver didn’t know what they were talking about cause he only understood her words but not Johns for some reason, he materialized the halberd, drew all the power in his body and attacked John with all he had, he didn’t know who this person was or why Flood didn’t attack him if she thought he might kill her but he felt immense power from her and nothing from him, and he didn’t know what would happen next but if she died their pact probably would be void and he didn’t want that.
Oliver hoped that even if he cant defeat John with that single strike he could distract him and Flood would use this opportunity to attack, and they might seriously injure him and then have a two on one fight, but his expectations were completely crushed, the dome which deflected the whole ocean was broken with only one fourth of his power, but the strike with which he had attacked John had everything he could offer and the result was nothing and it wasn’t like he did no damage it was like he hadn’t attacked in the first place, the halberd didn’t slash, bent, deflect, pierce or do anything else at all it was like there was no collision, it was like he had hit void with mass, it was like he hadn’t put anything into the attack and the halberd was just there, he didn’t know what John was but for him it didn’t feel like he had attacked anything at all let alone a living being, which for the first time in his whole life even before coming here, even while doing dangerous things other people called him crazy for, and things which some called him suicidal for, didn’t make him feel. He didn’t know what that feeling was but all he knew was that it made him want to run till he couldn’t see, feel or hear the man standing there, for some reason that feeling made him angry he jumped backwards in the water dematerialized the halberd, then materialized the ring swords and put them in front of him ready to block.

Flood couldn’t help but laugh at the events that had unfolded, she knew why Oliver had attacked but couldn’t understand why he thought that he could harm the being that could kill her, a demigod. Its not like she wanted to die either but was still calm, if it came to it she would fight as well but she couldn’t provoke John for no reason cause then he might actually decide to kill her even if he didn’t want to do it now, but that wasn’t the only reason why she was calm right now, the attack that had taken place just now wasn’t powerless it could actually harm a god on high or average level and seriously injure god below it, and it wasn’t that the strength of Oliver was on god level, he was extremely strong by human standards and she knew that, he could adapt quickly, had battle experience, could create and execute strategies by himself and all that was proven by the fact that she was released, he had been transported in a prison, hadn’t been discovered which is easier said than done, broken the walls, and had made the sea creatures fight against the guards to let him escape, what is more all that had happened for half an hour after coming in completely new world, her weapons had helped, but they are for fighting one v one not one v many and even then they werent easy to handle, she was even surprised when she saw him directing his strange into the halberd and not using it the human way, just swinging it, but even with all that said he was just a human, but his weapons were on god level if human weapons were like feathers to the gods then those weapons were like a sword, like something that can actually hurt them and even kill them, these weapons were created by god after all, and gods used weapons like those to fight amongst themselves. Those weapons could even hurt her, their creator but they didn’t even scratch John, no it could be said that even those weapons were like feathers to him leading to the one in despair being the one who had attacked. In his eyes she could see the emotion which every being facing John felt, and she someone who had spectated all who had done something similar knew what that emotion was, “Fear” Oliver who had attacked fearlessly with no hesitation now was having all his attention on John ready do dodge, defend or run in fastest way possible, like a rabbit looking at an wolf he felt that his life would be over the moment he does something wrong, she couldn’t blame him however cause she was the same, she knew the limit of her strength but had no idea about the limit of John, after all even if she had spectated all his fights they couldn’t even be called that cause there couldn’t be a fight between a twig and a bulldozer, all who attacked him died and it didn’t look like John had taken any of them seriously, and whats more those fights were between John and the other strongest gods so there was no need for more to be said. She actually had advantage in the ocean, every god had it when they were in their domain, Inferno would be stronger if everything around him was burning and would be weaker if he was in the ocean that was what gods called home-ground, there their powers were the strongest and now John was in her Home-ground but even with all that she knew, she was sure she couldn’t win, at best she could escape and that was what she would try first if things go south, she might just get lucky after all.

John who was smiling until a second ago was now a bit gloomy, he knew what the others thought of him, he was to gods what a natural disaster was like to an ant, with the difference being that the ant couldn’t see the whole tornado it would just suddenly die and it would be over but the gods could clearly see him, feel him, or hear him, one of his nicknames was even ”fate” cause nobody can escape fate, but that was the nickname he hated the most, it not only sounded extremely childish it completely removed him as a living existence, the earth opening below the feet of someone and shallowing them could be called fate, but he was a living being not a machine that killed everyone who crossed its path, that’s why he liked “executioner” as well, it described him perfectly, excluding the purpose of the nickname it showed that he was a living being who just did its job even if he didn’t necessary like all parts of it. He didn’t want other to think he would kill them for no reason, and Flood was asking him exactly that, and what made it even worse is that it came from a friend, he couldn’t help but feel bitter.
John[Did you break the rules]
Flood[I don’t know, did I ]
John[no you didn’t, and as my friend do you really think I would kill for no reason]
Floods unexisting mouth dropped, not cause he said that he couldn’t kill for no reason cause now that she thought about it that was true, but because he called her friend.
Flood[really]
John faced looked even gloomier after that question.
John[yes, I don’t kill for no reason, did you really have to ask me twice]
Flood[no not that part, do you still see me as a friend]
John couldn’t understand what she was asking here, after all they never broke the friendship.
John [of course I do, why wouldn’t i]
Flood[cause before we came to earth we had a fight, and you even helped the humans seal us, that doesn’t exactly seem like something a friend would do now does it ]
Flood deemed that she was a bit rude with the second part but she couldn’t help it, she was angry after all, and she always wondered about it so she wanted to hear the answer as well.
John decided to come clean, he knew that probably three out of four probably knew what he had done, the exception being Fire cause he wasn’t intellectually the brightest, but even if they didn’t know he would have told them all the same, he didn’t like laying after all.
John[first before you came to earth we had a disagreement of opinions not a fight, the main thing I didn’t like was you coming to earth but if we had a fight do you really believe that I couldn’t have prevented you from coming here, you all know as well even if you all came at me, at the end I could still deal with you without letting you come here by force but I didn’t want that, that was your decision after all not mine, I couldn’t force my choice on you, but that doesn’t mean that I have stopped seeing any of you as friends, and about the sealing, the humans found the “Silver ticket ” at the time and forced me to do it, it was never my wish for you to be sealed, I even thought about breaking the seal myself but as it was enforced by the ticket I couldn’t do it, that’s why I just watched you all until you broke the seal on your own]
Flood finally understood everything the ‘silver ticket”, the item which made the guardian do the will of the owner one time, she knew he couldn’t disobey the ticket or more like he wouldn’t disobey it no matter what so she was happy, there was no need for her to feel fear as well, if anything looking at his gloomy expression if asked the guardian would probably do what she wants as long it doesn’t break the rules, but well she didn’t have anything she wanted him to do so she decided to use it later, she knew how to make him feel guilty even in the future so there was no need to rush.
As she was completely calm now she decided to ask the other question which appeared in her head when she saw him here.
Flood[so why are you here for, you said you wanted to talk and I may sound a bit cold-hearted but i doubt that someone as busy as you would come here for no reason or to just say hello after so many years]
John felt guilty, she wasn’t right about one part but here she was on point
John[well you are smart and this time you are right, the reason I came here is simple, I have a deal for you as long as only half of the humans die by gods hand I will take you back up ]
Flood was happy for the compliment but was truly shocked about the deal, that wasn’t bad deal at all, she could guess that they couldn’t kill all the humans and if they did the guardian will act for sure, even if they were friends this directly brakes one of the rules, if anything there was no downside to her, she can still kill the humans and then when she is done she could just go back, john didn’t get anything from it she had no reason to refuse but she still asked a question as something wasn’t quite clear.
Flood[I have to ask something what exactly means to kill half the humans, and what do you mean by gods, are the rest free as well]
John gloomy face brightened a bit.
John[yes they are, you all broke the seal at the same time so I had so split myself in four and currently am meeting all at the same time and am giving you that deal, and I said half the humans but that is the max as long as at least half the people are alive you can always go back, I can take you right now as well if you wish, I have prepared as well, in case you want to go back now I have prepared your favorite books and other good stuff so what do you say ]
Flood was happy that John was so thoughtful about them, but didn’t want to go immediately, if she cant come back here after she goes back up she might as well stretch her legs like the humans like to say and she had also made a pact so she couldn’t go back until it was fulfilled either way.
Flood [well I take the deal but I cant go back I have to fulfil my pact and I know you know what that means, and as for the humans my anger towards them has long since past, maybe if the people who sealed us were alive it would be different but I am sure that they are long dead so there is no point is there]
John knew that this would happen after all wind and water were probably the only gods who wouldn’t care much about revenge, after all they both had a similar character where their emotions didn’t last too long, if anything wind might even be a bit angrier than water but until “he” combined to “him” with the other three “”himselfs” he couldn’t know how those deals had went, he was sure however that the “him” that met earth had it the toughest but that didn’t matter now so he spoke.
John[If its only about a pact don’t worry I can deal with it for you ]
John looked at Oliver, just by looking him in the eyes Oliver looked like he was about to faint, now that he thought about it that fellow had attacked him earlier, his protections werent off so he hadn’t felt anything but he still would usually punish him a little by giving him just fear and no physical harm, but as now he was with Flood he decided not to mind him, but even if it wasn’t for Flood he wouldn’t do even that,if anything he liked the guy, this weak human had attaked him after he had heard that Flood might get killed, he couldnt cause discomfort to someone who tried to protect one of his few friends. But now that he looked a bit closer this dude was another soul in this body that made things difficult.
Flood[you probably just noticed but that isn’t his body, so you cant deal with that one, but I still do appreciate the offer, I promise that after I fulfil his wish I would come back]
Flood and John both smiled, he was really happy with that answer, he knew that water was a bit timid and wasn’t all that good with gods and preferred quite alone time which probably couldn’t be told by the conversation so far, but that was only cause despite what she said she actually never stopped seeing him as a friend, and even thought he could do almost anything he want, he stilled like fantasy stories like her so they were quite similar in that aspect.
He really felt sorry now that he couldn’t complete her pact in her place and just straight up take her to the celestial world but rules were rules and from her expression which didn’t seem to blame him at all it looked like she knew that as well, she had accepted the deal and the pact was made official even without him so it was time for him to go.
As he was about to leave he stopped thought for a sec and looked at Oliver
John[that attack from earlier wasn’t bad, but next time you might want to activate the special ability on the halberd before actually attacking instead of relaying only on the power in that human body] after he finished his sentence he waved his hand at flood and disappeared like he was never there.
Flood chuckeld she couldn’t believe that she had thought that John would actually kill not only her but any of them after all that happened now, she really had to reflect a little as well for not noticing that part of the guardian. She took a human form, took Oliver and started going to the surface, the day was starting.
Olive however couldn’t believe his eyes, he had fainted for a moment after the creature known as John spoke to him and when he woke up he was in the hands of unbelievable beauty, for some reason he knew she was Flood but still couldn’t fully understand how the eyes floating in the water had suddenly turned into medium-high girl with large breasts, with curly blue hair like waves down to he waist, amazing figure, face as clean as water and eyes so blue they looked like the whole sea was drained inside them, this was the first time he had seen such a figure but he thought that if she smiled at him he might fall so much for her to the point of giving up his live if she told him so, that’s when he thought for the first time {She really is God isn’t she}, he had called her god before and she had strength to make him believe it but for some reason he just couldn’t fully believe it but no that he saw her like this there wasn’t even the slightest bit of hesitation in his mind, if that wasn’t a God then what was.

Rebirth, but not quite.
A boy is born in a fantasy world with knowledge of modern earth, however he does not have personal memories of living or dying before. Good news is he was born in militaristic branch of the royal family and the variety of forms and uses of magic in this world are great fun, bad news is with status come expectations. Follow him as he makes his place in the world all the while escaping boredom with all his might. This is a story without a big baddie trying to destroy the world, without gods choosing heroes to give powers to and without systems that determine what you can and can't do. This is my first fiction and i'm open to suggestions. I plan on using a few cliches while putting my own spin on things, if i write something that feels too much like every other fictions, please say so.
