《Knights of Auran》The Departure Part 1

The other racers were beginning to drive past him, including Mike as Kevin was distracted by the high pitch sound. Kevin could see more racers coming from his side mirrors. Not wanting to lose, despite the pain coming from the sound, he had to win.
“I’m not going to let this beat me.” Kevin thought to himself. “I need to win….I have to win.”
The energy from Kevin’s hands begins to spread to throughout his Bike. The bike becomes empowered by Kevin’s energy and his will to win. Kevin then chooses to ignore the sound and focused on the race. Kevin regains his balance and continued the race. With the help of his energy he began to speed pass the other racers. Mike looks back using his side mirrors to see Kevin gaining on him and fast. Mike slows down a bit till he was beside Kevin and tried to steer him off to cause Kevin to fall. As Mike inched closer, he noticed Kevin’s hands were glowing as well as the engine of his bike.
“What the.” He thought to himself.
As Mike was too close to Kevin’s handlebars, the energy from Kevin’s hand jumped on to Mike’s bike, but instead of powering it up it caused his bike to act up. Unable to control his bike, Mike ends up crashing into several other racers causing him and the other racers to be disqualified.
“What a twist of events folks!” The announcer calls out. “Number eighteen regains control; number seven Mike is now out of the race. This could be it folks, can Kevin Riley take his team to the nationals?”
Kevin speeds up tailing behind the first-place rider. He sees that he has one chance at making another risky sharp turn. He takes it which then puts him in the lead. Back at the construction site, one of the workers succeeded in plowing the tree down. The metal box with the stone inside falls out landing next to the fallen tree. The lid opened wide and the stone reacted by letting out a stronger sound. Behind that sound was a voice but not just any voice, it was Princess Anya’s wish. The sound continued to travel towards the stadium. Back at the stadium, the crowd goes wild as Kevin makes it through the finish line.
“He did it! He did it!” Yells the announcer over the P.A. “Kevin Riley wins and his team is going to the nationals!”
The crowd goes wild with excitement, as Kevin does a victory lap around the track. Mike and his team were on the side lines watching Kevin ride past them.
“So, you’re one of them.” Mike softly spoke to himself looking at Kevin with disgust. Without a word, Mike and his team quietly leave the stadium.
Kevin starts to make his way towards the tent where his family and his fellow teammates were waiting as they cheered with excitement. The amplified sound then reached the stadium. Once again it affects Kevin as his focus is shattered. Like headphones blaring in his ears, all he can hear is Anya’s wish repeating over and over in his head. Kevin reacts in pain as he instinctively holds his helmet trying to cover his ears.
Johnny noticed Kevin in pain and realized what was happening as Kevin was acting the same way back in the locker room; he gets nervous and Kevin’s Father noticed.
“Damn it.” Johnny said. “I knew this would happen.”
“What are you talking about Johnny?” Ben asked sternly.
“This happened before the race, he didn’t want to get checked out. I think something happened to him when that half-breed was at the school.” Johnny answered.

“What?!” Ben said upset.
As Kevin yells in pain, he unknowingly over charges his bike’s engine with his powers. The engine overheats causing a small explosion that ejects Kevin off his bike and towards the audience. Everyone at the stadium stands up in fright to what just happened. As Kevin’s momentum slows down, he hits the ground rolling until he hits the wall of the stands in front of a nearby crowd. As for his bike, it falls on its side sliding off the track engulfed in flames. It stops near Kevin, and the flames inch closer to the gas tank. The local pit crew comes running with extinguisher towards the flaming bike but noticed how close the flames were to the gas tank.
“Oh, God!” Yells one of them. “The tank is gonna blow, we’re not gonna make it in time!”
Some of the audience overheard them and began to panic and scrambled to leave. Kevin, dazed and slightly light headed from his crash. No longer hearing the loud voice in his head, he takes off his helmet relieved. He then sees his bike in front of him in flames and the flames reaching for the gas tank. He can hear the crowd behind him screaming as they were scrambling to leave the area but everyone was packed in like a can of sardines trying to leave at the only exit closest to them. Knowing that his bike was going to explode he will be dead and the shards could kill or injure the people behind him. He looked down at his hands as they were still glowing with energy. Knowing it will reveal what he is to the public, he knew what he had to do. All he could think about at that moment was to protect.
He stands up and raises his hands towards his motorcycle thinking about something that can cover his bike. He visualizes a dome shaped cover and begins to focus on that image. Up from the bleachers as the crowd below was still scrambling to escape, Reynolds was observing Kevin to see what he was going to do. Surrounded by his aura, It wasn’t long till his powers started to create the dome to cover his entire bike using his energy. As the flames reached the gas tank, the entire bike explodes inside the dome, the impact from the explosion, and the shards within were trying to break through the dome. Kevin uses more of his energy to strengthen the dome to prevent it from breaking, but the more he was using his powers, the Celtic tribal markings appeared on his skin once again but this time it was pulsating as a warning trying to prevent him from using his powers. The markings were burning, searing into his skin becoming very painful for him; whenever he cringed from the pain, he saw the dome getting weaker.
“Focus. Come on Kev, concentrate.” Kevin says to himself.
A little girl noticed what Kevin was doing and tugs at her mother’s shirt.
“Look Mommy, he’s glowing.” She said delightfully.
The girl’s mother heard her daughter and looks to see she was correct. Soon the bright and warm light from Kevin’s energy begins to draw the crowd’s attention. Several people, and news crews were even recording and streaming the moment on their phone. One of Reynolds men quietly takes out a tranquilizer pistol aiming it at Kevin.
“Permission to shoot sir, I got a clean shot.” The soldier reported.
“Take a good look soldier.” Reynolds replied over the soldier’s communicator. “That boy is saving these people. Instead of causing casualties help the crowd to escape, all of you.”

The soldiers took off their disguises revealing their advent guard uniform and started helping to organize the crowd to evacuate the stadium. Agent Reynolds takes this opportunity to sneak past the crowd and on to the ground near Kevin to wait for the opportune time to capture him. Hiding behind the corner of a set of bleachers, he noticed the tribal markings on Kevin’s skin and how much pain he was in when using his powers. The explosion was still building up within the dome causing the dome to crack. Knowing that everyone’s life is on the line, Kevin pushes for more of his powers to strengthen the dome. The energy coming from his hands expand and grew, his eyes especially the one with the odd birthmark begin to glow. He endures the pain yelling as he uses more of his powers despite the markings glowing brighter and burning him. The explosion finally dissipates, the shards and debris fall within the dome and just in time as Kevin was unable to take the burning pain from the tribal markings on his skin he releases the dome which created a giant electromagnetic pulse that engulfed the stadium knocking out all electrical devices and blowing up the light bulbs of the stadium lights. The electromagnetic pulse traveled back to the construction site, the stone reacts to Kevin’s pulse and created its own EMP also knocking out the electrical machines and devices in the area. The puzzled and frustrated workers began to complain among themselves and reported the incident to their boss. The gemstone becomes silent and the pulsating light fades.
With the stadium going dark, everyone in the stadium were freaking out and tried to leave the area for fear of what else Kevin might do. Depleted of the excessive amount of energy he gathered, Kevin’s marking’s fade and disappear. Exhausted Kevin goes down to his knees then collapses as he passes out. Reynolds then sees this as an opportunity to capture Kevin before anyone noticed. Kevin’s family and friends sees Kevin in danger and rushes to save him. Before either them or Reynolds could approach Kevin, black tank like vehicles arrive at the stadium. They park around Kevin blocking Kevin’s family and friends from going any further. The back doors of the vehicles opened, and heavily armored advent guards ran out with guns in hand surrounding Kevin. Their uniforms were different than the military style advent guards, they were wearing all black with a different insignia showing their rankings as they belonged to the highest of the advent Guard: the Advant Elite. Reynolds knew right away his bosses had something to do with this. A couple of the soldiers picked up Kevin and put him in the back of one of the vehicles.
“No! You can’t do this!” Yells Ben as he tried to push his way through the guards but they pushed back and held their weapons at him and the others ready to shoot if necessary.
Agent Reynolds walks towards the vehicle where they held Kevin but the Captain of the guards stood in his way preventing him from going any further.
“What is the meaning of this Captain?” Reynolds asked
“Sorry Agent, we have orders from the Elite to capture this half breed. They no longer need your services.” Replied the Captain.
Let me talk to them, now. Reynolds ordered.
The Captain allowed Reynolds to come inside the vehicle where Kevin was and closed the door behind them. The Captain took out a tablet that had a teleconference app on. He called the elite that Reynolds spoke to earlier then gives the tablet to Reynolds as he waits for the answer.
“The vehicles are protected against EMPs, you should be able to communicate with them in here.” He explained to Reynolds
Reynolds patiently waited till the elite answered via video chat.
“Agent Reynolds, we are taking you off this case, report back to DC for a new assignment.” The elite ordered.
“Sir I ask that you reconsider, his powers have not awakened still.” Reynolds stated.
“Agent, we saw with our own eyes what he just did.”
“And I saw something else.” Reynolds replied. “Markings on his body that we’ve never seen before, they were trying to prevent him from using his reiki power.”
“I’m sure we can remove them once we take him into our custody.” The Elite answered nonchalantly.
Agent Reynolds realized he couldn’t convince his boss with his words, he then thought of another method.
“Captain, check his reiki, what class is he?” Reynolds ordered.
The Captain refused to obey as he worked for the elite. The elite realized Agent Reynolds had a point and was curious to know what Kevin’s ranking was as well.
“Do what he says.” Ordered the Elite.
The Captain replied and took out his tablet to scan Kevin’s Reiki energy, but he didn’t detect anything.
Sir, there’s nothing to scan. The he reported surprised at the results. There’s no sign of reki energy at all.”
The Elite was silent, while Agent Reynolds was relieved that his theory was correct.
“Sir, we need to find out how to get those markings off and I know who can.” Reynolds answered confidently. “If you want this half breed, you need to let me handle this.”
The elite was silent giving it more thought to Agent Reynolds offer; he decided what to do.
“What do you propose?” The Elite asked.
"For starters, we need to initiate the rewind protocol and take the boy to the hospital. Once I learn more about those markings, I will personally bring the boy to our facility." Reynolds suggested.
“Do not disappoint us Reynolds.” The Elite warned.
He ends the video chat and Reynolds gave the tablet back to the Captain. Both the Captain and Reynolds exit the vehicle. Ben has been watching the whole time and noticed Agent Reynolds as he exited the vehicle. He tried to get their attention hoping he was on his side.
Peter! Peter! Let me in! Ben yells flailing his hands to draw attention.
Reynolds and the Captain could hear Ben yelling and look over to see Ben waving his arms at them but couldn’t go any further because of the guards.
You, know him? The Captain questioned.
“That is none of your concern. Snapped Agent Reynolds at the captain. Your job is to take him to Madison Regional, the boy’s Doctor is there and he can run some tests in the meantime”
“The EMP particles will be gone soon, we’ll initiate the rewind protocol shortly.” The Captain reported.
Reynolds nods in response and the Captain salutes. He then turns to his troops who patiently waited for their next orders.
Advant Elite, move out! The captain ordered.
The Soldiers replied as they withdrew their weapons and returned to their assigned vehicles. As the armored SUVs departed, the one carrying Kevin drove to the hospital as instructed. Agent Reynolds walked up to Ben and the others. With no one holding him back, Ben grabs Agent Reynolds by the collar of his jacket furious.
“Where did you take him? Ben questioned in anger. I swear to God I’ll kill you if they hurt him.”
He’s alright. Reynolds quickly answered as he pulled Ben off his jacket. I convinced them to take him to the hospital, but I need you to come with me Ben, I can’t bring you all with me.
Understood. Ben replied.
He turned to his wife, hugged and kissed her as she wept worried about everything that has happened.
Ben, bring him home please. Alexia begged.
Don’t worry Lexci, we’ll get him back, I promise. Ben replied softly.
The rest of you, go home and whatever you do, keep your phones off and unplug your tvs and any listening devices. That's an order. Agent Reynolds commanded.
Agent Reynolds and Ben left for the hospital while the others went to their homes.

Sustaining the King's Life
On a secluded mountain situated upon a kingdom known as Feuersturm, resides a seemingly trifling cabin with an unlikely duo as its inhabitant—a witch, and her apprentice who presumably comes from a clan sought after by slave traders. Faustina is a sixteen-year-old girl who fled the slave market with the help of a sickly witch named Eula, who later on trained her as an apprentice for the span of seven years. Plagued with a mysterious disease for several years, Eula died despite the efforts Faustina had exerted to cure her; in her last breath, she left an odd request behind. "Sustain the king's life. This is your duty. Do not adhere to the prophecy." To which the odd plea shadowed a bizarre series of events, a consequential sentence, similar to that of a premonition. The same night the phrase was muttered, the chain of events followed: A warlock's intrusion to their home, with a peculiar yearning to resurrect Eula from the dead... and the king himself, asking for Faustina’s aid. ** 1-2 chapters a day (GMT+8) ** (The artwork belongs to me.
