《Your Class Teacher》CHAPTER 54: Teenagers At The Bar

While everyone else; guests, hosts, moderators, and customers, were hyping up the bar while the DJ played music, there were a few who were uninterested in what had happened. Part of them were the two girls from a distance chatting at the front bar area while glaring at the swaying and gliding partygoers, who they found annoying.

"What is that jerk doing?" Samantha shot daggers at Blake while leaning against the front bar. She was implying the possible source of her annoyance. As what happened earlier, Blake started the roaring of the crowds by wailing that they'd destroy the Class 11-5, not realizing that there were also students from that classroom in this bar.

Aside from all the emotional stares she had expressed, she crossed her arms while her other hand held a wine glass and drank it aggressively. Wearing a glittering black sleeveless dress with the length up to above her knee, Samantha paired it furthermore with her black heels and light make-up which stood perfectly fit for the night's theme and her style. Her hairstyle's all-natural and just didn't tie it up to work it along with her outfit.

Beside her was Emily who crossed her legs while consistently smiling as she drank the wine placed above their table. She's wearing a royal blue lace dress with sleeves on it and also a pair of blue shoes. The same thing as Samantha, she also did a simple make-up but unlike Samantha, Emily did a slightly low bun for her hairstyle. Both had a shapely figure, imp-thin body, wasp-wasted, and glossy skin. Quite fit for a model. In fact, all of them in the classroom are fierce yet as pretty as a picture.

"He's nuts, isn't he?" Emily answered with a huge grin on her face.

In all of the movements she had set as she did blatantly for the wine, she seemed so unsteady to move again. It's almost as if she's drunk with all the drinks she's been gobbling up since earlier. And with that, Samantha was drawn to her, looking so worried for the reason that her friend appeared to be physically wasted.

"Yeah. Of course, he's from our shitty school so it's no wonder he acts like that," Samantha turned to their table and darted worriedly at her friend, Emily. But luckily, she knew she was still sobber at least. Afterward, Samantha poured wine half into the glass and leisurely drank it.

They both go to parties like this all the time, not to dance and flirt with guys, but to have fun by themselves. Hanging out with each other was yet the escape from their harsh lives. Sometimes, it's not always just the two of them, but because their usual group was pulling out everything and attempting to occupy themselves, they couldn't join them this time.

"So the students from our school received any messages yet us, the Class 11-5, haven't received any?" grumbled Emily as she glared at the partying people.

Even if they were free, drinking and talking publicly, it appeared like the people at the bar didn't recognize them being part of Class 11-5. On account of the fact that it's been 2 years had passed since they were locked up in the classroom, it's no surprise why they weren't recognized by their schoolmates at all. A lot has changed since then.

Emily was once bullied because she was overweight back then. Her usual nickname was "fat ugly", "E-meaty", and "obese Gandhi". Nothing new, nothing less. Every single day at school, her classmates would bully and belittle her just because of her physical appearance. She tried to avoid eating a lot of unhealthy food because of the inhumane act her classmates committed against her, but she couldn't help but eat a lot more.

As for Samantha, she was being bullied because she is half-African. Her skin color was different compared to the students, she once thought. Not to mention, she was also insecure and ashamed of herself because, like Emily, she got ridiculed due to her physical appearance. How can you change yourself based on what others think when you're born this way?

But since two years had passed, since then, a lot has changed. Completely devastated, Emily didn't eat for nearly two weeks after learning she had to transfer to Class 11-5. As a result, she lost a significant amount of weight. The people who bullied her before didn't get the chance to see her losing weight since she was already confined to her new class. None of Class 11-5 would bully each other, so Samantha, on the other hand, became confident with her beauty ever since she was repositioned to her new classroom.

A school that's so prestigious, magnificent, and noble in others' eyes, little did the majority know that there are students being treated unfairly in this school. A school that's supposed to educate students is the school that also engaged the students to keep criticizing and degrading anyone.

"It's not like it's our first time being treated like that. Sigh. Let's just don't mind them," Samantha replied, though she's the first one to mind them. But as luck would have it, she unknowingly reminisced about what happened to her before she was part of Class 11-5, "And what do you mean haven't received any? We don't even have the school's number."

"But they have our numbers though," Emily looked so wasted, yet she was still sobber and answered her friend consciously. She took a glimpse at her wine and realized there was nothing left. So she poured another bottle into her glass and consumed them gradually.

"That means one thing," Samantha uttered, "They just don't want us."

Emily raised her brows, "What is Travis thinking?"

As the music beat became so loud that they barely could hear each other at all, they moved closer to one another to chitchat, to the point where they had to scream just to hear what each other was saying. People in the club hyped up even more and appeared to be so high as the music beats up blasting. There were some of them flirting, voguing, kissing, covered in sweats, dancing like maniacs. But one thing was for sure, all of them were heavily drunk.

After they both knew that their bottle existed almost out of wine, Emily was about to call the bartenders only to find out that the bartenders were also busy with the other customers. So instead of calling them, Samantha intuitively called one of the staff by raising her hand, signaling that they needed another bottle of wine.

As a matter of fact, she specifically called Clara, one of the staff in this bar, who recently roamed around the bar to find a table to clean.

One thing they enjoyed coming to this bar was because of Clara as well. They could see her working hard for other customers, and they just love watching her being so busy. They also want to be served by her so it's nothing new. It's their way of supporting Clara as their busy friend and classmate.

Clara, along with the tray she was carrying, smiled as she happily approached her two friends sitting at the front bar area. She already glimpsed that her friends needed another bottle of wine. So then, she put aside the tray first above the nearest empty pub table and entered the front bar area where bartenders would exhibit their skills by mixing drinks. Since her friends only wanted some wine, Clara only prepared two bottles of them. But before giving them the bottles, she cleaned their table first by spraying water three times and wiping them dry with the use of a rug since there was a lot of spilled wine on it.

"Shit. Once we're out of our class, we'll still be treated like shit. That thing is so obvious. Why can't he see that?" complained Emily as she gritted her teeth furiously, "Does he want us to get in trouble? That fucker," she looked at Clara who's now putting the two bottles of wine on their table.

"Hey! Don't say that to our teacher," Clara added with softly sound even though it's against her job to squeeze into the conversation of their customers, "He's part of us now so we should just trust him, okay? He did many things for us, right?"

"That's the point! He did everything for us. But what for? Why was he doing this? For sure he's planning something fishy behind us." Samantha was frustrated.

"Hey, watch your mouth," Emily frowned at Samantha while filling the glass with the wine. She then added, "Don't talk back to Clara."

After hearing those words, Clara felt so flattered. She's so easygoing, pure, tenderhearted, and affectionate that everyone in the class wanted to protect and respect her like some sort of god. Although this wasn't counted as the first time being treated like this, she's still thankful for it. "Oh no, it's fine. It's fine. You're free to say what you want to say."

Samantha sighed. "Ugh. Here we go again. Can you stop being so virgin? You look so worn out and wanted to rest, you can curse, scream at us if you want to." She then drank some wine left in her glass.

Now that Samantha had mentioned it, Clara quickly realized that she was pretty exhausted as if drained. For so many customers she had entertained since the start of her working hours, for sure her body's all tired as well. She couldn't think of anything else other than working and pursuing what she wanted. She had no choice but to work and work.

She felt as if she wanted to respond to Samantha's words, but couldn't. Clara's mind has gone completely blank. She couldn't respond at this point because she had no idea what to say. She might be overexaggerating in the eyes of those who stood insensitive, but her body won't lie. How she wished to sit with her friends. How she desired to have some enjoyment. But she chose not to... because life's tough for her and she needs to work.

"By the way, Clara," Emily called her, and it made her awoke. Emily then smiled at her, "The way you play the piano was so-so good. I hope we can see you perform on stage soon."

Those simple words coming from someone made all of her tiredness go forth. It melted her heart and gave warmth to her body. It's as if she's being complimented for being a skillful musician. This could be the first compliment she has received at work on this particular day. Because playing the piano was one of her passions, simple words expressing how good she was at it would always flatter her.

Clara chuckled and was grateful for the words, "Thanks a lot, guys," she immediately ran to the edge of the front bar, and immediately came around the table to turn to her friends to continue talking. "Actually, I plan on performing an orchestral concert but I can't afford that much," she continued, excitedly.

"Don't worry, girl. You'll get there someday," replied Samantha as she drank the newly poured wine in her glass.

Fortunately, the DJ slowed down the music and turned it into jazz music. Partygoers then slowed down their dance and just completely joined with the music's melody. At least the three, Clara, Samantha, and Emily, would now be able to hear each other without much distraction in the background.

"And those guys ruined your performance," glared Emily at the teenagers at the bar, especially at Blake who's now flirting with other girls. They're very visible even from quite a long distance since Emily and Samantha truly glued their eyes to the guy who ruined Clara's performance by announcing something nonsense.

"Sigh. Just don't mind them." Clara witnessed her friends glaring at the same guy, so she glimpsed a bit of an idea about whom they meant, "I get to play at least though. And my co-worker's voice is pretty good as well," she put her hand on her waist.

"Yeah, but they still ruined it," Emily insisted, trying to lower her voice.

"Hey, it's really fine. The important thing is I got to play the piano today."

Samantha then soughed, as if she was tired of Clara being so goody-goody. "Okay, okay. Alright. You're just too forgiving that's why you're saying that."

"What time will you be off again?" asked Emily while gently holding Clara's hand, a kind of love gesture of a true friend.

Clara then held her hand, but then... "Oh, right. I got to go now," she realized she was still working so she just mildly clasped Emily's hand and waved it like some playing kid.

"I will be off at ten. For sure the manager is looking for me now. And I have to serve the other customers as well. See you all tomorrow, okay?" Clara continued, still swaying her hand together with Emily's. "And please, girls. It's pretty late already, okay? Go home now. I don't want the both of you to be scolded again." She gently let go of Emily's hand as she stepped backward and waved goodbye to her friends.

"And hey! Don't forget about the homework Mr. Travis gave to us!" Before she went afar, she didn't forget to give a flying kiss to Samantha, and Samantha also caught the gesture.

"Sigh. What a busy girl. I hope she will have time for herself though," Emily sighed, "About that homework she mentioned, I will just do it tomorrow." With another bottle of prepared wine, she poured it into her glass and drank it in a second.

"That's right. I think after this, she still has another part-time job to work at." Samantha likewise poured a drink into her glass.

Both then sighed and shook their heads, unable to comprehend Clara's ordeal. Despite the fact that everyone, including them, faces difficulties in life, they couldn't help but wonder what it would be like if it were Clara's life.

But then again, they had to focus on their own lives. As what Clara has declared before she bid goodbye to her friends, she said she doesn't want them to be scolded again. That meant only one thing... the both of them also face a harrowing experience in their own personal space.
