《Your Class Teacher》CHAPTER 44: To Cure The Ex-President's Daughter

Back to Present...
After Zeus's friends took turns visiting him, it was Victor and Monica who were now left to nurse him. Six or more visitors weren't allowed to visit the patient according to what Sir Travis had told them, so it's all right if they don't exceed the maximum sum of people. It's common sense and also a part of the hospital rules.
Minutes later after Zeus wanted to go to the restroom, Victor decided to come along with him in case something unfortunate happens to him---especially when he's still recovering. A few moments after he took his time in the restroom, Victor assisted him all the way to the vending machine area. They shortly noticed that Monica has been there, waiting for them while holding a bunch of snacks.
"Be careful, be careful. You might bump your head," Monica, holding the snacks, conducted after she saw Zeus almost bumping onto the wall.
Victor then almost laughed but then he realized, he was taking advantage of the patient so instead of laughing out, he just sighed and shook his head off. Glaring at Victor who's a lot obvious about his intention, Zeus elbowed him on the stomach and clicked his tongue. He then beamed at Monica as thanks for letting him know.
After walking towards the bed, Zeus sat down and sighed, "By the way, where's Mortal?"
It was expected yet both of them, Victor and Monica, were pretty shocked.
"Oh? Why? Now you're looking for him," Victor grabbed and opened a chips snack that came from Monica's hands and took a bite from it. "That's not like you. You know, we've sworn an oath that we shall never be good to anyone other than our friends. What's the change?"
It's as if Victor tested him when in fact, Kenneth had clearly told everyone that they should change their minds and welcome their teacher starting from three days ago. And since Zeus was not in their classroom to witness that announcement due to his deep sleep from surgery, Victor wondered why Zeus asked Sir Travis's whereabouts.
Zeus went on top of the bed. "What's wrong? Is it that big of a deal? It's just that... he said he'd watch me, yet when I woke up, he wasn't there. And nobody was in here so I was all alone. You guys left me." As they were both talking, Monica handed Zeus a cup of water.
"Haa, don't worry. Mortal said he had something to take care of, so he fled by himself. He'll be back tomorrow morning."

In a private hospital, where patients have to pay more extra for special service, Travis headed down with his companion to the nearest steel waiting bench in front of private room 98. Along with his mate, both of them approached a mid-aged woman dressing in a white tunic in a black pencil skirt, looking so depressed and hopeless as she stared into the void.

"Hello ma'am, good evening. Are you the Bihira High's Ex-President's wife?" asked Travis, smiling. Although he was so sure it was her, he still asked.
"Yes. Who are you?"
"Ah, yes. Nice to meet you, Madam," Travis lent her his hand for greetings, "I am one of the teachers in the Bihira School, Mr. Mortal. I would like to ask you about your daughter. How is she?"
Even though the mid-aged woman have no idea what might his business be, she still accepted his hand and greeted him. "Oh, nice to meet you, Sir," she stood up, "My daughter's still in her bed. We're still finding ways how to cure her, Sir. I don't know what to do. Why do you ask?"
"I see. I came here to fulfill my duty as a teacher. And as your husband's friend, I present to you one of the world's best hematologists, Dr. Rafael." Travis introduced to her his companion beside him, both Dr. Rafael and Travis are of the same age.
He's wearing a business suit covering a brown coat. With his almost innocent presence, he carried a big smile to show respect towards the woman. As young as himself must be already successful in his life. Carrying a handbag full of tools and equipment needed to treat a patient, he took his hand to greet the mid-aged woman, "Hello, Ma'am. Nice to meet you."
Raising a brow and almost unable to speak, the mid-aged woman accepted his hand still.
"You seemed to be confused, Madam, but this guy right here is a dear friend of mine. To cut off the chase, I requested him to cure your daughter."

[Refer to Chapter 11: It Is A Great Honor To Save Lives]
Days ago...
"I deserve all of this! This is my punishment! This is what I get for not standing justice to your students!" The wise president allowed fear to teach him but never deceive him. He was wise enough to claim it's his fault.
"Of course, it's not just me who will gain anything. I want you to tell me what you want, I will grant it. In exchange, you will do what I asked."
"What I want?" The president looked down, thinking what he might say. All of the memories of his family were left running on his head. A picture of a 10-year old daughter; A smile of a 44-year-old woman; A guy in his 20's, wearing a military uniform. All of those kept repeating in his head. "Can I trust you? Can you save lives?"
"Anything is possible," Mr. Travis answered politely.
"T-Then..... can you save my daughter's life?" He was so unsure if Mr. Travis would really help him, but since it's her daughter's life that's at risk, there's no shame in everything. He had to ask him whether he'd take it or not.

"Hmm. Please expound," Mr. Travis listened to him carefully even though he already knows what it might be.
In the very first place, Mr. Travis took advantage of the principal to get what he wanted. Although his intentions were never evil, he still carried this chance to have the principal running on his palm---just for once.
The principal huffed, "U-Uhh, she has blood cancer... it's leukemia. And as a father, my efforts aren't enough and I have no idea what to do, her health is getting worse. Even if I lose my job, I don't care. If you have connections with anyone who can cure my daughter, please... please help me."
Mr. Travis felt awful for hurting the principal only moments before. The principal, like him, was desperate. So in the end, both agreed to their own accord.

Back to Present...
"Cure my... daughter? This guy?"
Quavering, the woman seemed to be so stunned yet she was unhappy about it, "No, that can't be. We went and spent a lot of money on countless doctors already. What do you want? Money?" Almost tearing up, it seemed like she was already done with life. She's one hopeless mother. "Sorry, but I won't allow you to touch my---"
"Madam. Stay calm. Your daughter will be fine after all of this. Just trust us just as your husband trusts me," Travis was calm and effortlessly trying to convince the woman.
"No... please stay away from me!"
"Madam, we won't need your money if that's your problem. We won't ask for money if that's what you want. At least, for now, let me fulfill my promise to your husband... that I will find a way to cure your daughter."
As a mother and a wife, the woman broke down to tears and fell down to the ground, trying to grasp properly what could be her response to such an opportunity. And since it's her daughter's life that's at risk, the first thing that came to her mind is to accept Travis's offer. No money involved, no life at stake.
"Since we have already your husband's consent, all we have to do now is ask for yo---"
"I accept your offer." Shrieking, the woman was desperate. "Please... do what it takes to treat my daughter."
Travis then was glad to hear her response, "Then, all we have to do now is transfer your daughter to a more comfortable hospital for tests. Don't worry about her fees, Madam. I will be the one to cover it for you."
Minutes later, Travis called a company to assist Dr. Rafael with his operation. They immediately transferred the young patient to another facility, onto Dr. Rafael's lab. Of course, the doctors and staff who were once in charge of the young patient were against it. The truth is, they all didn't want to release the patient even if she has regained her health. It's all because of money. The longer the patient is in a hospital, the more money the patient will pay.
Travis, on the other hand, was not going to let this go. He summoned detectives to order the employees who were responsible for the unlawful conditions to cease resisting. The investigators are in charge of putting an end to the staff members who were opposed to moving the patient to another facility.
Meanwhile, as everyone became so busy for just one patient, Travis grabbed his phone inside his pocket and called a certain phone number. He was enjoying the moment of planned victory.
"Oh my, Mr. Ex-President. How's it going? Were you able to fulfill what I've asked?" As soon as the ex-President answered the call, Travis stated exactly what he had to say. Although Travis already knew the answer and why he was now the "ex-President", he still had to ask.
"Y-Yes. Since the school's still closed ever since that false bomb-attempt incident, as soon as the school starts to open again, your students will be able to join the school now---even in activities," the ex-President stated.
"Oh. That's good to hear. Thank you for doing all of that trouble, Sir." Travis looked so calm, yet deep inside, he was so delighted that he could finally start withdrawing his card. For him, everything is going just as he had planned.
"S-Sir, I sacrificed my position just for this. The CEO fired me as soon as I requested this from him. As a former President of the school, I really had no power to defy the CEO. You know what this means, Sir, right?"
"I know, I know, my friend. Don't worry, a dear friend of mine is now trying his best to treat your dearest daughter."
Tears of relief. "Really? Really, Sir? Thank you! Thank you very much."
After their little talk, Travis hung up the call and was smiling respectively moments later. After a few seconds, his phone rang again and it seemed like someone was calling him. As he saw the phone's screen, he reckoned that the recipient wasn't registered. Wondering, Travis still answered the call.
"Long time no talk, Headman."
The person on the other line was Emil, the first Elite.

Black Wind, White Lotus
In this world, there are haves and have nots. The former are pureblooded humans, some of whom are capable of manipulating qi, the mysterious energy that flows through every living creature, to miraculous results that defy the laws of nature and physics. Wen Feili was one such cultivator. However, she allied with the have nots- the anthropomorphic hybrids incapable of channeling qi-and dabbled in forbidden demonic arts, seeking to change the very composition of reality. This did not end well for her, and she was consumed by her own flames. A decade later, far in the northwestern mountains, her daughter Wen Fengli is working as a lowly servant of the minor Shuangshan sect. In between sweeping the floor and avoiding bullies, she secretly trains with a wooden sword, hoping to become a warrior cultivator at some point in the future. However, since she's part-human, part-wolf, it's just a pipe dream. ....or so she bitterly thought. However, one day a mysterious amulet that belonged to her mother falls into her hands. A deranged old master, a terrible conspiracy, a mysterious past? None of that matters to tomboyish wolfgirl, who only seeks to become stronger. She embarks on a journey of adventure and self-discovery, towards the mysterious southern lands where pure demi-humans are said to live...as spectre of war once again envelops the world of man. This is a Chinese-themed fantasy story set in a fictional world. You can classify it as xianxia, if you wish, but it's a rather low fantasy variant; the heavenly realm is silent, no one reached immortality in generations, and magical artifacts of old are locked away and feared. Magical beasts and spirits have been driven to the corners of civilisation, and "ordinary" abilities such as flying or controlling swords through telekinesis are considered spectacular feats. The main plot of this book revolves around a kemonomimi girl who seeks power, no matter the cost. This story also features multiple character pov, and will not always follow the perspective of the mc- there are two major plotlines, one connected to conspiracy and war ongoing in the political background of the presented world, and the other focusing on the main character's physical and metaphorical journey.
