Minyook was currently having a lot of fun. He knew Kevin had an inherent sense of competitiveness, and he enjoyed exploiting it.
"Jinxi stop staring at Haemin for a second, I beg you," Sungmin groaned, "It's making me feel so single right now."
"That is exactly why I'm ignoring them," Junseong said, trying hard to concentrate only on making paper napkin boats.
Minyook was entirely on another planet, as he usually was when being around Kevin. He had first started building a french-fry tower as a joke, but now Kevin was set on beating him.
Minyook saw Kevin's serious expression, his sharp gaze focused only on the tower, lips pouting a little with concentration. The frown between his eyebrows seemed to deepen every time he saw Minyook's tower. It was a lovely view and Minyook wanted to keep seeing it more often.
Was Kevin like this when he concentrated on his paintings?
Was he like this when he was gaming?
He didn't want to share this facial expression of Kevin with anyone else. He felt possessive, even petty but he also wanted to plaster it in billboards across the universe to let everyone know what an incredulous creation Kevin was. For now, since he could do neither he just kept wanting to see more of it.
He looked around the table and found everybody minding their own business. Was nobody seeing this beauty?
'Well, well, well, what do you know... beauty does lie in the eyes of the beholder,' Minyook thought, smirking as he stacked another french fry, that he stole from Sungmin, on top of his tower.
His happiness lasted until Sungmin found out about it and took back his French fry. At that, the smile of victory that Kevin flaunted was pure bliss.

Minyook was mindlessly scrolling through his feed. He couldn't sleep. His thoughts led him to the night at the tent and he reminisced about Kevin's voice.
As the night deepened the faint moonlight that trailed through the window cast a silver glow on Minyook's form. His bedsheet had been tossed near his feet, tangled messily, a reflection of his mind, that was in turmoil. The pale white fabric of his curtain swayed in the cold night breeze, resonating with the rhythm of Minyook's longing.
The relationship Kevin and he shared was the complete opposite of what the books and movies portray. Consciously, he felt attracted to Kevin. He thought the guy was attractive, magnificent even, but that was only the tip of the iceberg.
Kevin was much more than physical beauty. Kevin was patient, mature, playful, and passionate. He devoted himself to everything little thing he did. That kind of passionate dedication made Minyook lightheaded.
For Minyook, Kevin was his peace. A sanctuary he can confide in. He met Kevin during High school when he saved him from a fight. The boy himself sported a nasty black eye, but he was more concerned about Minyook's split lips. Kevin had carefully applied the ointment while standing on his tippy toes with big teary eyes.
That day made a lasting impact on both the shabby haired, box smiled teenager and a head shorter, shy, doe-eyed boy. While Minyook was fascinated by the care that the younger had shown, Kevin was grateful to have seen someone kind enough to stand up for him to even get hurt in the process.
The years that followed only anchored their relationship deeper and stronger into their lives and heart.
"Kim Minyook!" The grumpy voice of his Father rang across the hallway making Minyook jump.
"Yes sir," Minyook replied and quickly threw the phone away. He hid under the blanket before switching off the night lamp.
Every night the memory came back to taunt him, daring him to try and capture it again. He felt restless, he overdid everything when it came to Kevin.
He needed Kevin in his life, and he needed him as fast as he could if he wished to have any semblance of proper sleep.
