《Chronicles of the dragon slayer [old version]》Chapter 16 - Demons

“I … need some time to think about this. I don't have any family, so I will ask my best friend on what he has to say after which I will give you my decision if that is okay with you.” Andrew said much to Alfred and Micheal’s surprise as they had expected Andrew to accept the offer with open arms.
“Well that is okay with me, but what about you Alfred? This concerns you more than me.” Micheal said as he looked at the count.
The count placed his chin on his hands, and pondered a bit before speaking“Well I am okay with you taking some time to think abut this, as I will be here for a week but do not take much longer than that as I too do not have too much in the ways of patience”
Andrew nodded his head and said“I understand, thank you for your understanding.”
“Well you may leave. Andrew consider this offer carefully as this is something that could change your life in many ways.”
“Yes sir” Andrew bowed his head and left the room.
*Slam*
“Hooo I really thought that he would pounce on your offer, right as you mentioned it. Well this at least means he isn't greedy enough to accept an offer without thinking about it”.
“Hmm I don't know if it is such a positive thing, and from the way he said he needed to talk to his best friend I feel like he might just be indecisive. It is either that or just like you said he could just be weary of things. Well let us put that aside for now, I want to talk to you about a few other things.” Alfred’s eyes became cold as he spoke his last sentence.
“Have the demons begun to move once more?”
“It is as you have said, according to what his Majesty told me before he sent me here, the demon king has started to train more soldiers, and within the next few years we may be seeing a war, similar to the one that happened 300 years ago.”

“It seems as though turbulent times are approaching us, well I assume you didn't bring this topic up to simply warn me of the impending war, so what is it?”
“The emperor wants all the students to be put inside dormitories as soon as possible, according to reports of the emperor's intelligence service, the demons have already made some demonic humans to infiltrate the nation's services, and while the black wolves and I are trying our best, not all the infiltrators have been caught yet. Also, the king has asked you to prepare for the worst case scenario and start the training for the cadets, as they may have to be prepared to fight at any time if they are attacked.”
“Well those requests are understandable. I will ask the students to enter the dorms within the week and tell the teachers to create a stricter schedule of the students for the time being.”
“Okay I will …”
*Beep beep beep* Alfred’s words were interrupted by a call that came to the principal’s telephone.
“What is it Ronald, I am in the middle of something important here, so you better be quick”
“Sir I think you may need to come down here to the interrogation room, we have some extremely suspicious individuals here.”
Micheal looked at Alfred with grim eyes to which the count nodded.
“We will be right there in a moment.” the principal said as he ended he put the phone back in.
“Great”
*clank*
“To think they would have already infiltrated the school” the count said as he got up and moved to the door.
“Wait no need t walk I will teleport us there in an instant.”
“Right I almost forgot that you are a grand mage” the count commented as he walked up to the old man with a wizard hat that screamed wizard.

And with a wave of the wand a magic circle appeared below the two men.
*whoosh* a bright light came out and then the count and principal were gone.
***********
*A swoosh* and a bright light later Alfred and Micheal appeared in a dark room with prison cells on both sides, lit up only by dim lights that were located along the center of the room.
*Slide*
The principal slid his ID card through a scanner and the door before them opened. On the other side was a brighter room with black walls, and glass that divided the room in half.
“Ronald we’re here, so are those guys it?” the principal said as he pointed as the half dead bodies of the bus drivers sitting on the chairs on the other side of the room.
“Yes it is them, and before you ask, it was miss Andra who put them in that shape while she interrogated them, she has gone out for a while to blow off some steam from the interrogation.”
“Well if Andra interrogated them then she should have gotten some information out of them right?”
Ronald looked at the glass “nope, not one word, they said absolutely nothing the entire time miss Andra had beaten the shit out of them.”
“To think they wouldn’t answer even to the crimson witch’s interrogation” Alfred spoke for the first time since entering the room.
“Hmm that is certainly surprising, well let me see if I can access their memories, and see why they are here.”
Micheal entered the room and placed his hand on top of one of the unconscious demonic humans.

*flinch*
The principle flinched and moved a few times after he cast the spell when out of nowhere…
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh” Micheal screamed as he cast the spell, to which Alfred ran and pulled off the wizard’s hand off the demonic human’s body.
“Huff huff huff” Micheal eyes showed that he had seen something terrifying.
“Micheal calm down, it’s okay, but can you tell me what you saw?”
Alfred said as he saw the sweat coming down Micheal’s face.
“Yeah no I'm okay, just give me a moment…” Micheal was interrupted in the middle of his words when all of a sudden all suspects in the hall started to release smoke.
The smoke then began to form into a face which started to speak “how did it feel Micheal Compton, to be trapped inside the illusion that I had set up for yo, scary wasn’t it? Well anyway, my lord has a message for your emperor, ‘we have decided to declare war on the orcs, and ask that you refrain from taking part in this. If any interference is observed we will see it as a sign of aggression and begin our assault on your kind’, is what he said, and it would be in your best interest to listen to what his Majesty has just said, kekekekekeke” the face said before disappearing into thin air.
“Arnaxath, that fucking monster, he reached the 8th stage.” Micheal said.
“Well I think we should inform his majesty of this.”
“Ronald ask Andra to announce that the school will remain closed for the next three days and during this time the students are to move into the school dorms.”
“Sir yes sir” Ronald said as he saluted and left the room and ran to Andra’s office.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
