Julian took off the blanket that covered him, stood up, and looked around his room. "Well shit, he really did send me back in time", Julian walked to the mirror by his bed, "Oh yeah this face definitely belongs to me from when I looked 10 years old", exclaimed Julian as he stared at his face.
Julian was still looking around his room and reminiscing of old times when he heard a shout. "JULIAN, BREAKFAST IS READY" "mom" Julian whispered, as he dashed out of his room and started running down the stairs, once down to the first floor he rushed to the kitchen where he saw his mother preparing the table for everyone to eat. Julian ran to his mother and hugged her, surprising Amanda. As he hugged his mother tightly, tears started to trickle down his eyes, "Mom, I missed you so much, sniff, I missed you so, so much."
At a loss of words from looking at her teary eyed son, Amanda decided to hug him back as she stroked his head. "My boy, did you have a nightmare? Don't worry, mama's here, it is all going to be okay, so calm down now and sit on your chair and eat your breakfast." Nodding at his mother's words, Julian sat down on the right most chair on the table, and started to wipe his eyes.

'Pheww, I'm back, I am actually back, and everyone is alive. But I only have 4 years before those reptiles begin their secret invasion.' Julian continued with his thoughts as he stared at the calendar, the date today was 5th May 2015, 5 days before his 10th birthday.
"Bwig bwoder, why you crying? Momma, why was bwoda crying?" said a young girl, maybe around 3 years old, as she tightly held onto a bunny doll. "Well, you see Lia your older brother had a nightmare last night and is crying because of it. So why don't you go give your older brother a hug?" said Amanda as she looked at her cute little daughter "Ohkay" Lia ran to her brother with her tiny little legs and proceeded to hug Julian.

Overtaken by the cute scene in front of her, Amanda decided to pull out her cellphone and take a few pictures of both her children hugging each other.
"By the way, mom, where is dad? I haven't seen him today? Did he leave for the guild early today?" Swallowing the bite of bread she had in her mouth, Amanda replied, "Jacob had to leave early today, today is the graduation ceremony for the Cilicia knights academy, so he is busy preparing for new recruits to come in. Anyway, if you are done with breakfast, go get ready quick, or you will be late for school."
'Shit I totally forgot that I was still in school, ahh this is not going to be fun, I was going to plan out what I would do in the future, ahh this will be a pain.' "Young man, did you not hear me when I said to go get ready?" "Ah yeah mom, I'm leaving right now."
Julian stuffed the rest of the garlic bread that laid on his plate into his mouth and dashed towards his room.
*****
It had been half an hour since Julian had entered his room to get prepared for school. "JULIAN, HONEY YOU ARE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL, HURRY UP"
"YEAH MOM I'M COMING" Julian shouted. Julian grabbed the bag on his table, along with his ID card, and rushed out. Wearing his shoes, Julian announced, "I'm leaving for school, bye", and left.
*Honk honk*
Just as Julian left he heard the sound of a school bus that read [young military academy], Julian ran towards his stop that was 5 meters away from his house, and entered the bus.
The bus was almost filled to the brim with students. Julian was looking around when someone shouted at his "Heyyy Julian over here" Julian looked over to the source of the sound to see a rather chubby boy sitting by a window, waving his hands at him. With a smile on his face Julian sat on the seat next to the boy and said "Wasup Andrew?" "Nothing much dude, by the way are you ready for the results of the mana absorption test that come out today?". Hearing Andrew's reply, all color faded from Julian's face as he said "Shit I had completely forgotten that was today" 'Well I already know my results so not a big deal.' "Julian, how could you forget such an important thing, just please don't tell me you also forgot about the weapon proficiency test that happens today…"

"Oh I would never forget about that, I mean how could I since it is so important and all" Julian said as his eyes drifted away from Andrew's dumbstruck face.
'Ahh Andrew my best friend, how I have missed you and your nagging, don't worry man I won't let anything happen to any of us' Julian steeled his resolve as he continued his conversation with Andrew.
**************
While Julian and Andrew were talking a set of eyes was staring straight at them, 'Hmm how odd that boy, his personality seems way different and much less obnoxious that it was just yesterday, what happened? Hmph, either way, doesn't matter.'
"Hey, Helen, what are you staring at?" said one of the girls that sat beside her. "Huh, nothing, just looking at the other side of the road." "Is that so, well okay anyway as I was saying…"
The girls too went on with their conversation and in the next 10 minutes the bus had reached the mass arrived at a massive gate with a sign on top that read [young military academy], the YMA was basically one of the most prestigious academy within the human domain before they went on for further education, either as knights, mages, hunters, scholars, etc.
It was also a part of the much larger [Cyrenae institute], which was that largest institute for all professions in the human continent of Turingen.
The bus entered the compound of the institute, which lead to a massive field with a large building on one side and a gymnasium besides it.
The driver parked the bus and said, "We have arrived at the [young military academy] you me now get off."

I'm still writing the entirety of Volume 2. WARNINGS:-Yes, this contains LitRPG elements after a slow start, promise.-This work is incredibly Slice-of-Life heavy-Also conversation heavy-Also plot heavy (But not in that way, unfortunately)-The pacing in terms of plot is slow -(Edit after a review)- This story is also known as: I honestly don't understand what's the difference between "light" and "dark" stories. I realized that far too late, so this story is... weird. It might be light at times, and dark at times, and in all honesty, definitely has dark undertones. Oh, and prepare to be disappointed or pleased by this story; I understand that this story is polarizing, at least. Cover made by: Fei (@Chippy03966650) / Twitter
