《Chronicles of the dragon slayer [old version]》Chapter 2 – Terror

Julian stared at the book with blank eyes for a whole minute, the book had left Julian completely confused, shaking his head Julian said "it is not the time to think about meaningless things." as such Julian just walked it off.
Julian continued his journey through the library, and around 5 amusing martial art manuals later he noticed that there seemed to be a small gate besides one of the bookshelf. Stimulated by his curiosity, Julian approached the door, and tried to open it when he felt that the door was not only extremely thick, but it seemed to be made of metal, making it extremely heavy.
Excited by what could be behind such a door, Julian pulled out every ounce of strength within him to open the door, and after a total of 5 minutes of relentless pushing, the door finally started to open.
The room behind the door could only be described as gigantic, however it was also extremely dimly lit, making it hard to see very deep into the room. From what Julian could see, the room was lavishly decorated with its marbled floors and walls, to its exquisite looking furniture.
This sight bought up a question within Julian's mind regarding the nature of the room and to whom it belonged. There was also the question that how could such a place have maintained such a state despite the complete lack of anyone to take care of it, such questions plagued Julian's mind as he walked around the room.
Julian curiously walked around the room until he reached the center where he saw a member of the species that took away everything from him, "DRAAAAGOOOOOOOOOOOON" Julian shouted, unable to keep a handle on his emotions ,-which in hindsight was a very stupid decision that he had made.- as he drew his yedo from its sheath and lunged at the black dragon that laid sleeping before him.

The dragon woke up from its slumber from the annoyance caused by the shout of the mortal, the dragon huffed out from its snout, and stood up. The dragon was truly gargantuan, and remarkably majestic with its shining black scales, beautiful horns, and marvelous pair of wings.
The dragon, annoyed by the human that continuously tried to slash its majestic body, grabbed Julian and brought him close to his face.
Julian tried to resist and slashed at the palm of the dragon, but the scales of a dragon were one of the toughest materials known to mankind.
"Let go of me you damn beast, I will kill at least one of you before I die." amused by the shouting of the creature in its hands the dragon spoke, "kill me you say, mortal you have no idea how feeble and powerless you are, as such why don't I show you how terrifying it can be to anger a dragon."
The dragon then proceeded to cast multiple rounds of magic at Julian, all of which were illusion spells that would cause the recipient of the spells to suffer through immense amounts of pain and torture, but none of them would kill the individual. "Now, mortal, you shall suffer immensely for your impertinence before I kill you in the most enjoyable way I can think of."
Anger and terror filled Julian's eyes at the words of the dragon, the beast filled with pride would go to any lengths it could to make Julian's death as painful as it could be for him
Julian's thoughts were interrupted abruptly as he started to feel immense pain all over his body, Julian started to scream from the pain that was raging throughout his entire body. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
The screams didn't end for hours and soon after the pain had started Julian also started to see images of his family and friends, ruthlessly being killed by the dragons that had attacked them during their attack on mankind. These images repeated again and again until Julian emotionally and mentally almost broke, which was when Julian decided to empty his mind completely, and eventually the pain started to decrease, the images that were hurting his head stopped showing, and eventually the screaming started to decrease.

Surprised by the sudden decrease in screaming from the mortal, the dragon frowned as he said, "well seems like you have quite a resilient mind human, hmph I was starting to get bored by your screaming anyway." Julian glared at the dragon with eyes full of resentment. "Well , I shall now give you the mercy of death."
Saying such the dragon touched Julian's forehead, with his finger and started to send mana into him, at first, Julian felt great as all the pain he had felt earlier had seemingly disappeared, but slowly Julian noticed that the mana that the dragon was moving around in his body was circulating is a different way than normal, the speed of the circulation mana increased rapidly, as such Julian started to once again feel great amounts of pain, but this time unlike the physical pain he had felt earlier, Julian felt as is his entire body was burning from the inside, while deep in pain Julian suddenly noticed that the dragon's mana was flowing similar to him, inside itself.
But such thoughts did not last for long as the pain that Julian started to feel increased, and smoke started to come out from Julian's mouth, and slowly Julian was burned from the inside by the rampaging mana of the black dragon, and boom, Julian exploded into thousands of charred pieces, without having completed his revenge against the monsters that took everything from him.
*******
The pain had finally stopped, the agony was, the constant anger was over, and Julian could feel the surrounding nothingness. "Haaaah so this is how it must feel to die huh, must, so I do not recommend it."
Julian's figure floated around the void as Julian started to contemplate on the books he had read in the dragon's library before the fucker had killed him.
Time passed and Julian had slowly started to forget what being alive even felt like, time had lost its meaning, for there was no day, no night, only the vast void of nothing existed within sight.
An unknown amount of time had passed when suddenly a blinding light appeared before Julian.
"'Haah to think I would find my successor after so long only to see that he is dead haaah'"
