《The Alteras Games: World Jumper Book 2》Chapter 5

"Jet, there is a girl taking a bath just on the other side of this wall." Jeff leaned back on the stone chair.
"Yes, and she can hear everything we say. This is still a cave after all, and sound carry's." Jet pointed out.
Jeff had the decency to blush slightly before changing the subject. "So, what's our plan for getting out of here?"
"First, after Kayley is done, I'll need to check and see if we can jump to Earth sooner. She is a World Jumper, after all." Jet wasn't too sure why he hadn't thought of that sooner. It would be great if they could leave the world here and now.
"She has been here for years. So her charge must be full."
"Her charge? You do remember that I thought I was dying before my first jump. Kayley doesn't seem to have a headache like I did. She also jumped at a much younger age, so maybe she can take us from here." Jet hadn't mentioned his worries about that. The fact that she didn't even know about leaving her world. Not to say that it took him much longer to return to Earth. So what if her, as Jeff had put it, charge is slower than his. Well, he would have to test and see. Looking back up, he realized Jeff and Kayley were looking at him. "Sorry, I got lost in thought."
"I was just telling Jefferson that the water would need to be warmed up if he uses it." Kayley had just gotten out of the tub, and her hair was starting to freeze.
Jet reached a handout and pulled the water off her. Now she was completely dry. He may be should have warned her. Judging from the stare she gave, that had been a little on the personal side. "I'll go warm up the bath and clean out the dirt."
"But you did all that while sitting before I went in." Kayley reminded him.
Jet returned to his seat and cleaned the bath while heating the water, all from his chair. "Go take a bath. You stink."
Jeff raised an eyebrow. "Really?" He said and walked off towards the bath.
"Kayley, give me your hand." Kayley didn't even hesitate. Jet felt for his powers to jump and tried to reach for hers. "Try not to block me, please." Jet cringed at the backlash of her fighting back on instinct. As Jet felt her power, some kind of knowledge poured into his mind. It was a location to her home world, and from the look on her face, she got his. The problem was she was starting to drag him towards her world. "Kayley, stop thinking of your home so strongly. Jeff may get mad if we disappear."
"Sorry, I didn't know I could do that," Kayley said with clenched teeth.
Jet had no clue what he was doing, but apparently, touching another World Jumper had weird effects. However, he did find what he had been looking for. She didn't even have the power to jump to Earth. From what he could tell, she couldn't even hold the amount of power he could. Not even enough to make it to Earth herself. Kayley's magic was also odd to him. He already knew it didn't work the same as his. But it definitely had something strange about its effects.

"Jet, I think you're digging a little too deep. I can feel your magic coursing through my body." Kayley said uncomfortably.
Jet let go and backed off. "Sorry, your magic is interesting. Unlike my magic that is created through my cores. You pull something from the air." Jet thought back to Graham, then decided he was different. For starters, Graham pulled magic from the air. He wasn't sure what she was pulling from the air.
"Would you like to see my shadows?" Kayley gave a small smile. Jet was not too sure what to say. Not that he had a chance as the shadows around them bent and twisted. A mix of anything from body parts and weapons formed. A shadow that looked like a sword scratched the table Jet had made. Then a large hammer of a shadow slammed into the edge knocking a chunk off. Then, Jeff ran into the room to see what was going on.
"Uh, what are you guys doing?"
Jet said nothing as he repaired the table and made a fireball. What happened was not what he had expected. The shadows seemed to become darker and thicker. He was not sure how that had worked. "Interesting."
"I'm guessing you thought the shadows would dim and fade?" Kayley asked.
"Well, that had crossed my mind." Jet still didn't understand why the light hadn't gotten rid of the shadows.
"I'd tell you what happened, but I best not give away ways to weaken me. Then again." Kayley went completely quiet.
"No, I don't blame you. Best to keep some things close to home. You don't know us good enough to give out secrets like that." Jet leaned back and rocked on the chair. "So, are you cold, Jeff?"
Jeff, who had gotten out of the tub to see what was going on, had absolutely no clothes on. Kayley blushed when she looked over at him. But not nearly as much as him as he run back into the bathroom. Jet just broke out in laughter at the site. "That had to be embarrassing."
"Be nice. You would have probably done the same." Kayley berated Jet.
Jet leaned forward and smiled. "Trust me, embarrassment of being seen naked has been beaten out of me."
"Where I come from, it is considered indecent to be seen like that."
"It is where we come from as well. The first world I was on. Let's just say servants get very mad if you don't strip when they ask." Jet noticed her eyes slightly widen. "What?"
"Nothing, just your eyes." Kayley leaned in close to look at them.
"What about my eyes?"
"
They're lifeless, just like his." She whispered while just staring into them.
"Just like who's?"
Kayley leaned back and waved her hand. "Don't worry about it."
Jet's eyebrow raised, and he decided to ignore that. "Right, so we need to head back. Need to trade this stuff for some supplies." He tossed a pouch of minerals on the table.
"Yeah, good call. Maybe we could even bribe them for something other than dry, tasteless jerky." Kayley frowned.
"I have my serious doubts. We've only been here a day. So I doubt we have enough stuff to bribe people." Jet leaned back on his chair.

"You two do realize that bribing wouldn't work. Most likely, they'll give you the same amount of supplies no matter how much is brought to them." Jeff sat down at the table.
"Why's that?" Jet asked.
"Simple, why would they. We're just a bunch of slaves mining for them. Also, I happened to see the line of people bringing stuff back. If you bring too little, you get half rations. You bring too much. You get a day's rations anyways." Jeff crushed their plans.
"Fine, let's just go back and turn in some minerals." Kayley got up and started towards the entrance.
"Put your bracelet on." Jet said, getting up as well.
"So Jet, could you also pull all the water off me?" Jet looked over at Jeff, smiled, then pulled all the water off him.
Jet had not realized how far they had climbed. It took them three hours to get back. The climb had been miserable for him, mostly. He also got the scare of his life when he slipped and started to fall. Luckily they had a safe line. Still scared the crap out of Jet. "I am glad you two are part, monkey." Jet said as he got this grip back on the wall.
"What's a monkey?" Kayley asked.
"Monkeys don't like to climb mountains. Mountain goats are the climbers." Jeff said as he helped Jet get his grip.
"Whatever, let's just get this over with." Jet complained.
"Guess you should have joined me during my climbing faze."
"Would have been a little awkward since we weren't talking at the time." Jet huffed out as he dropped to the ledge leading to their supervisor. He didn't like thinking of the man as their slaver.
"You know that would have only taken us two hours tops?" Kayley pointed at herself and Jeff.
"That's great," Jet said.
"Alright, Jeff, you go first. I'll head over with Jet." Kayley patted Jet's back.
"So, I've asked Jeff, why did you two stop being friends?"
Jet just frowned at the question. "I was in a bad place at the time."
"The way he acts, it's his fault."
"Not his fault. He tried to pull me out of my bad place but failed. Someone else ended up pulling me out of the bad place. She will always have my heart now." Jet laughed slightly before adding. "That's if I make it back again."
"Aww, so it was a girl." Kayley winked at Jet.
"Not like that. Jeff has another girl."
"Wow, you guys need to talk. Jeff hasn't had a girlfriend in years." Kayley looked over at Jeff.
"Girlfriend? He had a fiancé." Kayley gave Jet an odd look. "He was to be married. Jeff comes from a family with money. They're old-fashioned and still do arranged marriages." Jet decided he really didn't know Jeff too well anymore.
Kayley just shrugged. "My world is the same. Most families arrange a marriage. Sometimes it's to benefit the families."
Jet had completely stopped listening and was distracted by what he was watching. Jeff had handed the bag over to the supervisor. Who tossed the stones that Jet was certain were diamonds right over the ledge of the giant hole. "Is he crazy?" Then a thought crossed Jet's mind. 'What if diamonds are worthless here?'
"Jet, are you ok?" Kayley asked.
"Kayley." Jet turned and grabbed her shoulders. "I need you to store some stuff." He sort of whispered to her.
"Uh, I need to touch them to use them, and they're kind of in a personal place right now. Also, I'd much rather not pull them out here." She whispered back.
"Right, you technically are always touching them. Also, you pulled out your sword when Jeff was in trouble."
"Yeah, but I had my earring in my hand at the time. I didn't exactly trust any of you at the time." Kayley said.
Jet frowned as he thought about time again. The world just felt off. They had only been friends for a couple of days now. But they had just started talking to each other since yesterday. "Hey, Jet, quit spacing out." Kayley thumped him on the head.
"Sorry, I just had some things on my mind." Jet rubbed at his head.
"Well, thanks to you, I discovered I can place stuff in my earrings even while they are both hidden. Now, what are you wanting me to store?" She cocked her head at him.
Jet reached into his bag and pulled out the diamond chunks. "Store all of these. They May come in use later, and the supervisor is just tossing them anyways."
Kayley shrugged and grabbed the diamond chunks from his hand. She put them in her bag but stored them instead. "Well, I had never thought that would work. We are taught at a young age to touch them with our hands before using."
"Great, glad you learned something new. But the man is staring at us now. So we best get this over with." Jet said before walking over to the supervisor.
"What were you guys talking about?" The slaver glared down at Jet.
"I was hitting on her. What's it to you." Jet shoved the bag into his hands.
"Guess she didn't like being hit on by a kid." The supervisor tossed Jet some rations.
"Any chance I can get more to go further? Don't really care for the people dropping out of the dark on me." Jet figured it would hurt to ask.
"We have other groups for that. Now let me see your bracelet." Jet complied and lifted his wrist. The supervisor checked it over and over. "At least you are not stupid and tampering with the device. Now better get some more metals if you want to eat tomorrow."
Jet walked away to let Kayley turn in her bag. He watched, and sure enough, he checked Kayley's bracelet as well. 'So they check them. Maybe they can't track them down here?' Jet smiled to himself as a plan formed in his mind.

The Flame in the Forge (A Slice of Life Isekai LitRPG)
Thrown into a world he doesn’t recognise, Niall Vendra has to adapt, learn and fight to survive. Physically, emotionally, personally. If Niall wants to save his family, then the man he was needs to transform. Surrounded by Minotaurs, Fae and Magic, Niall will have to reinvent himself as both a warrior and an artisan. Growth won’t be fast and it won’t be easy, but with patience and hard work, Niall can earn the Skills, Abilities and Classes to battle his way to the top. The Flame In The Forge is a LitRPG Isekai/Portal fantasy. You should expect slice of life with conflict and an overarching mystery to be solved. Niall will be both a crafter (primarily, but not exclusively, as a blacksmith) and a fighter. There won’t be a harem. But don't worry, there will be both flames and forges! I should be clear that while this is very much LitRPG, it's story led and I have tried to make it feel believable. So, for example, the first blue box doesn't appear until chapter 6. I hope that the payoff is worth it. Compared to some LitRPGs you may find the pace rather gentle at times. There will be some periods where it feels like Niall is eking out every level and others when, for good reasons, he makes a significant leap. My goal though is to give you a satisfying story, so that dictates when and how Niall's stats and skills change. I can reassure you that I fully intend for Niall to become immensely powerful, but I want you to feel like he has earned every level in a realistic way.

Saints and Suffering: A Naruto Fanfiction
Synopsis: Naruto and Sasuke were unable to defeat Kaguya the first time around, and suffer immensely for their failure. They travel back in time to right their wrongs, but struggle with the repercussions of their failure and the unintended consequences of their actions. Author's Note: This is fanfiction, I am a first time author, and I make no claims nor guarantees to quality. I have another story floating around in my head, but I am writing this first in order to practice my skills and gain feedback. Please feel free to give constructive criticism, I will try to read and respond. No guarantees to upload schedule or speed will be made. I work a full time job, and I am not particularly fast at writing, though maybe speed will increase as I become more practiced with my storytelling. This work will essentially be my playground moving forward; I'm going to write about scenarios that tickle my fancy, and the overall story may suffer from it. I will endeavor to keep continuity though. I have an outline that I am working on, and there is an overall arc to the story already. Furthermore, as of the beginning of this novel, my intention with this novel is to explore negative emotions and use my writing as a form of meditation/therapy. When I am sad, I will write sad things, and when I'm happy, the story will be happy. Lastly, there will be religious undertones every once in a while. Hopefully nothing too heavy handed though.
