《The First King of Beasts》Chapter 16 & 17

‘The master said to kill as much as possible. She said it will boost reward and power. I still don’t notice the difference though.’ Thought a girl, who was currently walking deeper into the forest after just killing a goblin.
The goblin she just killed had attacked and killed a man, and was about to pounce on another amateur, just before she attacked it. Honestly, she wasn’t trying to be some kind of saviour; she just wanted to kill the vile creature, nothing more. It was all a coincidence.
‘I’ve gone too deep into the forest, I should be heading back, then moving towards the red dot on the map. I can’t rest tonight.’
“Maybe master was wrong? I don’t feel myself getting any stronger. Not even after killing so many.” The girl said as she walked away from the downed corpse of goblins behind her.
Under the covering of the forest where the dim moonlight didn’t penetrate much into, she easily blended in with the darkness, with no see-able features.
After a bit of walking, it had only taken a few minutes for her to get close to the forest lines after she had wandered inside looking for prey. She finally came out of the forest, close to where she had entered from, and where the pitiful boy that must have thought of her, his saviour was.
‘Seems he managed to get away. With that attitude and such a malnourished looking body...’
“It’ll be a miracle if he even survives tonight.” As she voice out her thoughts, she came fully under the moonlight, her figure faintly visible.
This girl wasn’t bad. She had nice curves that were moderate in all the right places, and she packed neither too much nor too less. Her face under the moonlight was also quite cute, like a matured cat. Definitely not childish, but yet still cute.
However, there was nothing beauty could do in the presence of shock. She was heading up towards her destination, which was the same as every other person, when a light breeze blew over her face. The stench of blood immediately struck her nasal pipes like a strong wave.
It was now that she noticed around five goblin bodies lying dead on the floor just ahead of where she stood.
She ran up to the spot where the bodies were, and from what she could tell, it was done by an amateur.
“I got to give it to this person. They certainly tried. But why line them up like this after killing them,” She said, looking a bit confused.
What she didn’t know was that the person responsible for the death of these goblins was Dustin, and he didn’t exactly play by the rules of hunting.
“Come to think of it..” ‘This is the spot where I killed that first goblin.’ She spoke in her thoughts.
Did that boy kill these goblins? Was he the one responsible for this? She wondered. She could remember very well the figure of that scared looking boy. If he could even manage to cut chunk of chicken with one strike, that would be an accomplishment.
“No, it had to be someone else.” She said while shrugging off the thought of a scrawny malnourished boy killing five goblins in one go.
Just when she was through with examining the corpses, that breeze carrying an intense stench of blood in it blew again.
The smell of blood was a bit much, she headed back into the forest by her side. Out of curiosity, she wanted to see where the smell was coming from.

When she got to the scene, she was even more shocked at the scene that welcomed her. At least twenty bodies littered the forest ground with blood soaked into the surrounding floor.
Once again, the corpses seemed to be sort of arranged. Killing in this realm wasn’t her first. Even before she came to the realm of Na’ash, she had killed quite a few people herself. She knew how dead bodies were supposed to look.
What she was seeing were goblins that didn’t even put up a fight, or more accurately, they couldn’t put up a fight.
‘This person is more capable than I initially thought.’
“To wipe out this many this easily. Even my sister would have a bit of trouble against this many. Dangerous.”
Although she had witnessed such a scene, it wasn’t this one that drew her here. The smell of blood was much concentrated elsewhere. Her curiosity just won’t allow it. She wanted to see for herself the source.
All it took was a couple minutes of running around, and she finally arrived at the source of the terrible blood stench.
Her legs nearly gave out under her as she saw what was before her. The corpses were simply, uncountable. Her eyes remained widened, and her shivering teeth didn’t seem to stop either.
“W-what, what is th-this? Oh my god.” The words escaped her lips, unbeknownst.
‘Who is capable of doing something like this? This is just mass slaughter.’ Her whole body continuously shivered as she stared at her environment, albeit a lightly.
A MONSTER.
This was the only thought that filled her head.
She would need to be careful from now on. Someone who is capable of this, she didn’t want to cross. The savagery she saw in those blade marks, only a mindless killer could produce such crude cuts. The thought of finding her sister also increased, for she was well aware the kind of person her sister was. If she were to encounter this person, there was telling what will happen to her.
‘I need to tread lightly from now on.’
...
“Hmm...”
‘Killing these guys is useless now. I don’t even gain exp from killing them anymore.’ Dustin said as he pulled his sword out of another goblin’s skull.
The area around him was covered in hundreds and tens of goblin corpses, with only about ten left alive.
Dustin himself was completely drenched in blood, and needed an urgent deep bath as soon as possible, something he himself noted.
“I might have had a bit of feeling before, but now it’s all gone.” Dustin said as he observed he’s surrounding.
Because the goblins looked the size of a human child around eight years old, and they were also humanoid monsters, Dustin felt a bit of an emotion when killing them. That emotion he felt was now gone anyway. He now felt nothing when killing the creatures.
“Come to think of it. I’ve been killing these guys for a while now. If someone finds all those corpses, won’t that cause a problem??”
‘Nahh.. They probably just think a strong group passed by. It’s impossible for anyone to kill that many to begin with.’
“Just in case though, I should hurry up and wash these clothes and myself.”
“Well? I should probably find a place to lay my head first. I don’t misusing the level up system to reset my fatigue is healthy. I should get a proper rest.”
Dustin turned towards the goblins that remained from the last batch he just killed. Looking at all of them, he couldn’t tell much of a difference between them. The moonlight that made it through the forest covering wasn’t enough to see well, so he just picked at random.

“Kill the others.” Dustin gave the command.
Without a hint of hesitation, the goblin turned on it’s fellow goblins and killed all of them one by one.
‘Wow, not even the slightest hesitation. This guy is quite useful.’
After leaving the vicinity, Dustin came across a suitable area where he could draw some comfort from the hard forest floor.
“This, right here would be nice.”
He then turned to the goblin and gave it the order to stay watch and remain vigilant. After adding a few more instructions just to make sure, he curled up beside the roots of a big tree and tried to get some well deserved sleep.
..
Yawnn...
“Mmm...”
‘Not as comfortable, but not bad either.’
The morning had come quicker than estimated. In the current situation, there was no way to tell the time, but Dustin had woken up just around the time the sun went above the horizon.
He turned to check if the goblin he tamed was still around. “It’s still there. Does this guy even need sleep?”
‘He probably does, all living things do.’
Dustin did some light stretches as he got up. He’s body was in perfect condition, the best it had ever been since his birth.
‘When last did I have so much energy after waking up?’
“I feel hella healthy.” He said as he continued on some more stretches.
The goblin had noticed him awake and had walked up to him while he was still stretching. He looked at it, and for some reason, he felt something strange move in him. The feeling was quite abnormal. ‘Does it want to tell me something?’
“How was the watch? Notice anything unusual?” Dustin asked. He wasn’t expecting any answer in particular. Goblins were low level monsters with low intelligence, so communication wasn’t really something one would expect from them.
Despite that, the goblin replied with a plausible response. In fact, it was like Dustin could tell exactly what the goblin was saying. The feeling was inexplicable.
Dustin completely understood what the goblin was saying, and that apparently had shaken him from his stretching.
“Go towards that side and scout the area. Make sure not to be seen.” Dustin ordered.
The goblin nodded firmly and left to carry out the instructions given. Goblins were agile more than they were strong. With nimble steps, it wouldn’t be so easy to spot the goblin.
As Dustin watched the goblin disappear into the forest vegetation, he couldn’t help but wonder. The way the goblin acted towards him, that firm nod before carrying out it’s duty like a soldier. How did the goblin view him, he wondered.
Maybe to the goblin, he was it’s master, or maybe it saw him as it’s Lord, ah. The thought of being the leader of a troop that never betrays and never slacks was soothing to Dustin.
‘Is this the way presidents and army heads feel? The feeling of holding martial power. Ahh..’ Just as he was enjoying the thought and was about to do another stretch, he noticed something that threw him off his balance.
“What the...? When did this happen!?” Dustin questioned, in surprise.
He hadn’t noticed anything odd since he woke up. He just felt extremely good. Even though he slept on the ground, the feeling was still quite nice, and he had nothing to complain about. He hadn’t really looked at his body.
To Dustin’s surprise, his body had undergone major changes while he was asleep. A total miracle, no, a gift from the gods. His once scrawny malnourished looking body that could break under a little pressure was no more. This figure had been replaced with a barrage of compact looking muscles, each of them looking chiselled and toned.
Maybe it was because of the way he looked, but looking at himself now, Dustin didn’t doubt that he must have had
While Dustin was still admiring himself, trying to look at all the spots he’s eyes could reach without a mirror, the goblin returned with news. He immediately brought down he’s shirt.
According to what the goblin was saying, it seemed another person was in the area, and the person was close.
‘Let’s not do too much.’

‘I couldn’t even get a good sleep. The thought of the person who caused that scene appearing near me kept me awake and vigilant all night. But it seemed he didn’t even pass by. Stupid.’ A girl said as she marched through the forest.
She continued moving through the forest vegetation cautiously. If normal animals also existed in this realm, which there is a high probability they would, she would need to be vigilant. If she were to be bitten by a snake or some crippling thing, that might be the end for her.
Maybe it was due to her vigilance, she picked up the sound of footsteps from a distance, but she wasn’t quite sure. It sound like steps, but the sound was a bit dull.
Crack
‘Something’s there!’ She jolted in a bit of fear.
She instinctively wanted to turn back and run, but that would be a shame, both to her and her master, she thought. By all means, she fought against her sudden fear, her will overpowering it. In mere seconds, she sprung out, dashing ahead and towards the source of the sound.
After a few steps, the part in front wasn’t covered with much of the vegetation and leaves, and that was when she saw a figure that resembled a goblin, it’s green skin giving it away as it sprung forward at an amazing speed from tree branch to tree branch.
‘A goblin? In the day time?’ She thought.
Goblins only came out at night, which was something she knew, oddly enough for someone who was dragged into the realm of Na’ash. But looking at the dense covering above that blocked off most of the sunlight, maybe? She wasn’t sure.
A few more seconds after chasing after the goblin towards a large tree, she could see the goblin landing on the ground, from the trees, and a figure standing before the tree.
‘A person? He’s going to get attacked!’
As she swooped in and before the tree however, the human figure was gone. Was it just her imagination? She thought. She was sure she saw someone there, but now there was no one there, just the goblin.
In a heartbeat, her sword had cut through the goblin’s head and her figure was standing behind it.
...
‘Hmm? That’s quite the skilful one. She just got here, but she’s this good already... Nahh. Viper can do what she just did, even better. Maybe she’s one of those secretly trained assassins from the government or stuff. That’s definitely it.’
As Dustin was observing the girl from atop the branch of a tree, someone else entered the scene.
..
“Mizu, it is you. I knew I sensed something familiar.” The voice of a girl spoke as another figure emerged from the behind the huge tree.
“Raven. I’ve been searching for you, sister.” The girl from earlier, Mizu, said.
“Me too. It’s why I haven’t left these parts yet.”
Under more lighting, Dustin could recognize the girl called Mizu. She was the one who saved him the previous day. He was grateful, he still is, but the fact that the girl was quite the beauty, and she was Asian. Dustin couldn’t help but throw a thumb of approval.
(This Almighty Author also throws a thumb.)
Not falling even an inch behind, the one called Raven was even more beautiful. She looked older than both Dustin and the one called Mizu by a few years, as both Dustin and Mizu were around the same age, from their looks. This Raven had even more protruding curves and model like measurements that shown all too well even through the basic beginners outfit, and she looked South American. Seeing her, Dustin couldn’t help but throw two thumbs of approval for both ladies.
Strong, beautiful and has the stuff.
APRROVED!
(This Great Author also throws four thumbs of approval.)
..
“I sensed someone else here... Is there no one?” Raven asked.
“I thought I was the only one. There’s something you must see sister. It’s very important. We’ll discuss along the way.” Mizu said as she led the way back towards where she had just come from.
..
“I wonder what this thing is? I should follow and investigate.” Dustin said, as he followed behind.
