“System, can you display my player data?”

“Ten on everything? Are they sure? How much is ten though? Hmm.”
“Not bad I guess.”
-Rewards have arrived. Check the achievement tab to see your rewards.
“Rewards huh? Why don’t we leave it till tomorrow? I’m feeling even more tired by the second. Lets check the description of my skills first. I all ready know what they do, but at least let me see their rank and stuff.”
With that, Dustin touched the panel subconsciously, and it worked. The first skill taming had a collapse window that detailed what the skill was about.
[Taming: No one knows how you got this skill, but you did.
Rank: E
Effects: You are able to control and tame some small animals. Chance of success, less than 15%]
“No wonder. Such low rank and success rate.”
Dustin then collapsed he’s other skill.
[Alter Reality: No one knows how you got this skill, but you did.
Rank: E
Effects: You are able to change what others perceive as real by tricking all their senses. It only works on one target at a time, and for a very short amount of time. Since it deals with the senses, it has a 50% success rate]
After confirming that he had only some lowest rank skills, Dustin stayed on the roof for a while, then decided to leave.
Dustin left the roof and headed into the house. Subconsciously, he felt it would be weird if he stayed too long on the roof.

He snuck into the house like a thieve so that he wouldn’t wake Sil. Sometimes Sil could be very sensitive when sleeping, other times he slept like a log of wood. That night however, Dustin couldn’t tell which of the Sil’s it was, so it was better to take precautions.
After sneakily entering the room and climbing on his bed ever so gently and ever so slowly, as the creaking sounds didn’t seem to care for his stealth. He finally fell asleep for the day.
The next day, Sil was up early and started cleaning the house, while Dustin remained in bed, sleeping in an awkward position. His brother had tried to wake him up, but that became impossible after numerous attempts, so he gave up.
By the time Dustin would wake up, Sil had already finished most of the house chores, and even started preparing breakfast.
“Urr.” Dustin a low grumbling sound as he opened his eyes.
Everything that happened with the system before he slept felt like a dream he had just woken up from, but still, he believed it wouldn’t.
As he pushed out of bed, he noticed just how light his body felt, definitely lighter than usual. He felt unnaturally healthy for some reason, and just as he turned to look at Sil’s bed, he got a sudden feeling of what if it was Sil...
“No use being all sad right from bed. I should keep that out of my mind for now.”
He knew his younger brother always did the chores every morning, and looking at the room, it seems he was already done with that area. “Good, let’s see now.”
Dustin hesitated a bit, but then he finally found the courage to mutter up the words, “system.”
-Good morning player.
-To view the system panel, say status.

‘Status?’ Dustin thought.
As though the system could read his thoughts, the status screen appeared.
“Wow, it can read my mind? Awesome. I don’t have to worry about looking like a mental patient anymore.” Dustin exclaimed quietly in excitement.”
The status screen looked the same as it did the previous day, so he looked at the notification panel and saw that the gifts had arrived. He quickly touched it and the window switched to the achievements panel.
-Your first reward has arrived. Open reward?
“Yes.”
As Dustin agreed, the reward which appeared in form of a gift box opened.
- Due to your achievement of an impossible feat, you have acquired the title, Progenitor.
“Progenitor huh? Sounds like some vampire shit, kinda cool. Open the second reward.”
-Opening reward.
-Due to your achievement of an impossible feat, your skills have evolved.
-Taming (E) has evolved into Taming Master (A). Alter Reality (E) has evolved into Reality Manipulation (A).
‘Ohh, SHiT!’
“Status!.” Dustin called out excitedly, but with a whisper.

Dustin wasted no time, and immediately rushed to check each of the skills.

“This is the bomb!” Dustin celebrated, while still suppressing his voice as much as possible.
With these skills, he was sure he wouldn’t have to worry about what might happen later on. He would be able to protect himself and his brother to a certain degree.
At this point, he had started thinking of different experiments he would run with these new skills. He then stood up hurriedly and dashed into the sitting room. Just as he was about to enter the sitting room, he remembered something. He was yet to check the title he received.
He slowly backed himself into the room and sat on his bed.
“Status.”
Given what he had already seen, he was pumped and naturally couldn’t wait to see what the title was about.
[Progenitor: You are the first ever awakener in your universe. You are the beginning, you are the end. Without you, there is no awakener. Even in the presence of the creator, you deserve a seat.
Effect:
All awakened, regardless of rank or lineage will revere you deeply.

An old man's new world
An old man on his deathbed has many regrets, but the one thing he regrets the most is not fulfilling his sense of adventure. What would he do if given a new change? I always try to make the characters as realistic as possible by giving them lives of their own and motivations for doing different actions, but because I'm a new author, I might miss a few things, so please, feel free to tell me if something feels fake or unrealistic. I also write as a hobby, and my motivation tends to go up and down. If I'm not feeling motivated, I won't force myself to write. This means that the upload schedule might have abrupt gaps and sudden spurts.
