Feeling the unending power coursing through him, Michael keeps on cutting through the beasts at a faster rate without pause, it felt like he could never be tired out as they continued going down and he kept killing any beasts that came their way no matter how fast it was, it wasn’t faster than Michael. After a period of time, he has cut down all the beasts around him and he finally calms down. He now realizes how much more powerful he has become, how greater his power has become, the strength and the speed. He felt like he can do more and be more better than he was in the past. He wished his master could see him now and how far he has gone since being trained, he couldn’t even believe he could get to this stage in his lifetime and thought Andrew would get there before him since he seemed young and had greater potential than he did when he was young, after all Andrew has gotten to be almost as strong as he is and Andrew was just fourteen years, then before he reached thirty what kind of stage would he have gotten to. On thinking about Andrew, he remembers the kind of danger he would be in right now and snaps out of his reverie and tries to adapt to such a change and drastic increase in his powers, he was after all at least twice as strong than he has been in the past and had to adapt to it to prevent using more strength and speed than he should have to prevent accidents from occurring. He was in a trance when fighting and hence fought the beasts out of instincts hence he was able to do everything to an understandable state but what if he wants to help his fellow warriors and ends up using too much strength and speed, then it would be bad on his part. He takes his time to take in such a new change to him before fully calming down, looking around at all the beast strewn on the floor around him, he also notices the gaze of the hunters towards him, they must have been shocked at his increase in strength and speed. Since the moment Michael felt the surge in powers, they didn’t have the chance to even fight any of the beasts and Michael took care of them all singlehandedly. They were also happy since they would surely be saved without the risk of dying and won’t have to expend too much of their mostly exhausted energy.

“Have you stared enough? Can we get moving now?”, asked Michael when noticing that even after a while they still haven’t averted their gazes towards them. They continued on their way and it seems like the other beasts saw the new might of Michael and hence stayed far away from them hence their remaining journey were smooth. They finally got to the last place they were and Michael allowed the hunters to go back to the village after all he didn’t know the kind of danger they would enter into and didn’t want to endanger their lives cause he can’t be sure of being able to protect them. Although he has become stronger, he can’t be sure of the extent to which he has become stronger and didn’t want to take too much risks hence he alone proceeded forward while following the footprints left behind by the wolves.

After a while of going down the trail, he sees the corpse of a wolf from afar being eaten by other beasts and trails of blood and broken trees which could only be a result of a fight, but Michael wasn’t sure if it was from Andrew or other beasts came around since any unexpected situation could occur at any given time.

But Michael still doesn’t give up and wishes deep down that nothing has happened to Andrew while driving forward since the trail of the battle doesn’t end there. On getting further deeper, his heart almost leaps to his mouth when he sees the situation before him. There were two wolves on the floor obviously dead and Andrew could be seen a distance away with blood oozing out from various parts of his body, it was obvious that he has been hurt severely in various critical parts of his body and his state right now could not be known. There were huge birds flying in the air obviously vultures with some already eating the meat from the wolves. Some were about to even swoop in and even eat Andrew but Michael rushes forward and with a swoop falls them all in a single swoop. He anxiously reaches out to check if Andrew was still alive. On checking his heartbeat, he notices that his heart is not beating at all, it seems like Andrew has died. Michael was at loss for what to do. He stays in that position for a while holding unto Andrew, tears were streaming from his eyes. He after all had high hopes for Andrew and was even treating him as his own kid. He now wished he hasn’t brought him into this kind of lifestyle, he would have been alive if he just lived as a kid but it was too late to regret such a thing now.

As he cried, he howled loudly while raising his cutlass as he ran towards the beasts surrounding him. He seemed insane as he kept on cutting through all the beasts presently before him, although this time it wasn’t for hunting purposes but to vent out the pain and anguish he was going through right now. He felt like he was the one at fault for all that happened and wished that everything could return to the past and he wouldn’t make the same mistake. He raged on and on but without trailing too far from Andrew to prevent other beasts from eating his body.

This went on for a long time and as the beasts noticed that this mad man was killing indiscriminately, they all ran away far from him in order to prevent themselves from being the next victim. On seeing that there was no more beast in the surrounding, Michael goes to were Andrew is and lifts him ready to go back to the village to bury his corpse at least. On picking Andrew’s body up, putting him in his shoulder, “ba-thump”, he hears a faint sound. Shocked, he lays Andrew’s body on the ground and tried listening if it was his heart that made such a sound. He was in that position for more than a minute but still didn’t hear the sound of his heart beating. He still hoped for a miracle though and on the fourth minute while about to give up, “ba-thump”, he heard the heartbeat clearly this time and without doubt. Michael was shocked, it clearly was not normal for a human’s heart to beat at this duration but still not giving up hope he runs down towards the village to see if anything could be done to save his life.
