《An Ancient's Leisure》Chapter 8

The man had returned the two objects to their resting place and made offerings to their spirits.
After he was done, he went back and Johnny began the cleaning process. He gathered all the dark energy from the house, from the storage room, and from the man and his master. All of it was gathered into a dark crystal.
Then, when the man's master woke up, they went through the contract process and the spell was done.
As for whether the spell would hold, only time would tell.
The man and his master both bowed. “Thank you, senior. If there’s anything we can do for you, let us know!” The man says.
Mary Rose’s eyes lit up. “We accept cash!” She says, seizing the opportunity.
The man nods. “We’ll transfer it over right away.”
In the end, the couple left; Johnny had finally received his bad luck amulet and Mary Rose received fifty million in her bank account.
…
…
As they toured the country, Johnny noticed that there were indeed more cultivators in this place. There were also a few back home, but the cultivation practice was more diverse and sparse; there were many witches back home.
Johnny didn’t make an attempt to hide his aura; in fact, if he could flaunt it more, it would be better. Hopefully, this and his bad luck amulet would produce some effect and stir up some trouble.
Eventually, Johnny was not disappointed. As they were visiting the great wall and casually taking pictures, Johnny was attacked! By a demon snake! This creature, as an animal, had awakened its spirituality and begun the long road of cultivation, and Johnny’s aura carried the fragrance of a large, sweet cake. The demon snake was sure that eating the man would offer a large boost to its cultivation.

Johnny was not phased, and dodged the attack. Then he held out a hand and gathered his spiritual energy to restrict the snake’s movement.
Having bitten off more than it could chew, the demon snake was lifted into the air, unable to move.
Mary Rose looks over and raises an eyebrow at Johnny’s strange movements. “What’s going on?” She asks.
Johnny smiles. Things of this nature were rarely revealed to people in the mortal realm, so it was understandable that Mary Rose could not see the snake. “Nothing. Just a visitor.” He says before approaching the snake.
Johnny’s spiritual energy gathered in his palm and created a branding seal. Johnny didn’t hesitate and inserted it into the snake’s head.
The snake looks at the seal with fear, and although it tries to resist, it couldn’t escape its fate. The branding seal was inserted, and the snake was doomed to be Johnny’s servant.
Johnny released the snake, allowing it to fall to the ground. “Reveal yourself to her.” He says.
“Yes, master.” The snake says, transmitting its thoughts with its spiritual energy.
Eventually, the snake was revealed.
Mary Rose’s eyes widen and she instinctively hid behind Johnny. “Johnny! Such a big snake! What do we do?” She exclaims.
Johnny lets out a laugh. “Don’t worry. It’s harmless.” He says as he leans down to pet the snake.
Mary Rose watches in shock. Eventually she approaches as well and pets the snake.
“What do you want to name it?” Johnny asks.
“Let’s name it Slinky.” Mary Rose says with a smile.
Johnny lets out another laugh. “Slinky, it is, then.” He says, settling the matter.
…
...
And so, Johnny and Mary Rose were followed around by a big snake as they toured the country. It was invisible to normal people’s eyes, but other cultivators noticed it right away.

Eventually, Johnny’s bad luck amulet continued to work wonders.
Such a strong snake must mean a strong monster taming inheritance; as such, this matter began to draw eyes from the shadows.
At the hotel, a figure had entered while Johnny and Mary Rose were sleeping.
Johnny’s eyes instinctively opened and he got up to welcome his guest.
Johnny stood up and left the bedroom; in the living area, connected to the kitchen, the man saw him and immediately acted.
He approaches like a rushing tiger, his steps and movements coursing with power. It wasn’t long before his attack came.
Johnny raised a hand and blocks the palm, then he swats the fist that was coming for his kidney. After that, Johnny began to strike at the man’s acupuncture points, the sequence and rhythm of his hits creating a seal on the man’s body; eventually the man was forced to stiffen and collapse onto the ground, immobile.
Johnny went over and lifts the man’s mask. He looks at the man and smiles. “Welcome. I wonder, to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?” He asks, amused.
The man let out a grunt. “I’ve come for your monster taming inheritance.” He was forced to say.
Johnny raises an eyebrow. “And who do you work for?” He asks.
“No one. I’m a loose cultivator from the underworld.” The man says.
“Hmm. What’s your name?” Johnny asks.
“Leo.” The man says.
Johnny thought it over and released the man’s acupuncture points before standing up. “Your cultivation technique is incomplete and its harming your body. If you wish to resolve this issue, stick around and I might be able to assist you.” He says before walking back to the bedroom and closing the door.
Leo watches the man leave and allows his tense body to fall limply on the floor before releasing a few heavy breaths. “Damn. I almost died.” He exclaims to himself.
