《Gnihzur: The Legendary Prokeral God Crow!》Chapter 20 - Chirako’s Crownus Vision!

In the small forest clearing where Chirako was currently engaged in mortal combat against the sadistic vulture, Eratool, many destructive tendencies were being exchanged accordingly. Chirako had gained the upper hand in the fight for he had Eratool on the defensive.
“Water Lightning blade!” Extending his signature weapon in his right hand, Chirako streaked behind Eratool in a flash of lightning. He then kneed him in his spine, causing him to slouch backwards where he cut off parts of his left wing.
“AHH!” Eratool screamed out in agony. Staring at his severed wing poised behind him on the ground, he said to Chirako, “You chopped off a big chunk of my wing? That is no easy feat for a fledgling to accomplish. Ever since that left eye of yours became active it’s been a one-sided battle. What’s the trick behind it?”
Hearing Eratool’s curious inquiry, Chirako thought to himself, ‘Pathfinder… My visual prowess enables me to easily see 10 seconds into the future at every 15 seconds interval, but it has a big drawback. It drains a lot of my Krowqui. I can only maintain Pathfinder for another 2 use or so. Each activation lasts about 2 minutes. Within that timeframe, I have to take that vulture down.’
Three rotating axis wheels were visible in Chirako’s left eye; each with various size strokes that determine important variables of time/space. At the central pupil was an analogue clock only with the Second Hand present that was slowly rotating clockwise. The tip of the Second Hand was made out of a 2-leaf clover. The base overflow was light green and the pupil blue. At the outer region of his eye, around the eyebrow was a thin glowing golden arc that supported the repeating orbit of a 3-leaf clover. The 3-leaf clover sitting on the golden arc represented compact Krowqui storage required for Crownus ability utilization.
“Gaze!” Chirako’s visual prowess quickly scanned the future timelines for the most likely to occur possibility within his current vicinity and locked target. To him, the moving sceneries had lots of creative blue colours. His clock-like pupil only had the Second Hand active which meant he could perceive Eratool’s actions ahead of their execution, thus being able to formulate a counter-strategy within the seconds he had available for a better-suited outcome. This, in turn, created a quantum influx that was altering the possible timelines causing them to split and branch off into many other continuous future possibilities.
With each use of his Pathfinder, he consumed a leaf from his golden Clover Arc. Now Chirako only had 2 clover petals remaining above his eye.
‘I can see it! He’s going to do a faint from behind me but his real attack will come from above.’
Eratool had no idea that his future assault had already been read by Chirako’s Crownus, thus he continued with the execution of his predicted scheme.
“Triple Threat Punch!” Eratool dashed ahead swiftly, moreover, sidestepped a few times until he appeared directly behind Chirako where he began performing a faint attack.
“Now!” Chirako ignored the faint attack that was tossed at his rear, instead of dodging it, he coated his right arm in lightning Krowqui then immediately fisted above him. Eratool received the shock of his life!

“Huh, how did he know I was going to attack from above?” While Eratool pondered this reality, Chirako transformed into a cute little bunny made of pure blue lightning.
“Lightning Bunny Hop.” Chirako hopped around in the air adroitly, leaving streaks of lightning in his trail. He crashed directly into Eratool who suffered the shock of millions of volts.
“AAAAH!” Eratool screamed in pain until he crashed into the leafy surface below; painted with severe burn marks.
Chirako returned to his normal form upon his landing. “Did that do it?”
Sadly, no. Eratool was very much still alive. He struggled to stand. After successfully making it to his feet, he stripped off his burnt feathers, letting them hang loosely at his waist; even the feathers on his wings were almost completely stripped off. His pink torso was bare for all to admire and he wore that look with pride.
“Cough! Cough!” Spitting out a mouthful of blood, Eratool started glaring at Chirako intensely as if realizing something of great importance. “I’ve finally figured it out. That glowing left eye of yours enables you to predict my movements. That is no ordinary visual prowess. Now that I think about it, that crest around your waist is of the Rincur Clan. I’ve heard that they possess the strongest visual prowess among the Great Families of Waivrumnagar. The Crownus Vision which has the ability to see ahead of time and manipulate space freely. To see my moves with such precision means that it eats up a lot of Krowqui, so my guess is you can’t keep it active for long.”
“Huh!” Chirako looked frightened upon hearing the last bit of Eratool’s analysis.
“That expression on your face… it seems I was right.”
“Dash!” Chirako retreated a few paces. However, Eratool quickly gave chase.
“Where are you going, little crow? Because I’ve finally figured out your skill you’ve gotten scared, is that it?”
Chirako wasn’t retreating because he was scared, he had his reasons for what he did. Soon after he took a few steps backwards, Eratool sensed something incoming and looked to his left flank. A deadly fireball was approaching. He hurriedly jumped in time to avoid getting blasted to bits.
“Huh…?” Looking to where the blast ended, both Chirako and Eratool identified a hot-headed crow plastered among the shattered trees. Shortly, a small vulture landed between them. She looked back and forth at Chirako and Eratool before voicing her remark.
“Hey, Eratool, what’s taking you so long to clean up one little scrub?” Short Stuff gave Chirako a look of disdain. “He’s not even that strong. He’s too cute to be a formidable opponent.”
Eratool retorted, “You’re one to talk, Short Stuff. That brat is very troublesome to deal with… huh?”
Chirako rudely interrupted the vulture’s reunion by shooting a lightning water strike between them. Simultaneously, he dashed towards Eratool and re-engaged in mortal combat.
Shortly, Eratool realized what was going on. “Hey, what’s the rush, fledgling? Are you running out of time?”
Looking at how Chirako had Eratool on the defensive, Short Stuff asked, “Do you need my help, Eratool?” At the same time she said this, Drazil got up from among the shattered trees with his tongue lashing fiercely against her ears.

“Why don’t you take care of your own damn business first, you plucking shrimp?”
“Oh, hoo.” Short Stuff was shocked to see Drazil still able to challenge her so brazenly even after the hellish beating he had just endured.
“Feathers Red…” Drazil began charging up his fiery skill.
Short Stuff was perturbed as she watched him. “Tsk, the same technique again? I’ve told you before, I can eat all Krowqui attacks. Why can’t you get that through your thick skull of yours?”
Drazil ignored her rant and unleased, “Twin Angry Hawk Fists!”
“Useless.” Short Stuff felt extremely annoyed at experiencing Drazil’s stale attack over and over again. Closing her eyes briefly, she opened them later along with her mouth to ingest the incoming fiery blaze. However, Drazil did something that she wasn’t expecting. He used the flames as cover to dash ahead unnoticeably. While she was expecting to swallow a mouthful of flames, instead, she swallowed one of Drazil's clenched fists!
“Choke on this bitch!” Drazil punched her directly in her open mouth which sent her flying like a stuffed bird.
“Kiuk!” After Short Stuff regained her balanced, she began barfing out loads of blood. Drazil’s surprise attack had caused great damage to her internal organs.
“Huh? My blood?” She wore a look of bewilderment on her face.
Drazil approached her smilingly. “How do you like the taste of my fist? It’s just as I thought, you can’t absorb any physical attacks. Now have some more! Feathers Red, Twin Angry Hawk Physical Fists!”
Drazil fired his flaming punches at the trees situated behind the vulture.
“Where are you aiming at? That was way off target.” Remarked Short Stuff looking startled.
Drazil smirked. “You’re just so damn short that I didn’t see you there. I’ll be sure to aim well with my next attack.”
“Come on then!” Feeling veritably embarrassed, she beckoned him to duel.
Both Drazil and Short Stuff engaged each other in fierce physical combat. He tripped her leg in order to deliver a punch to her face, however, she quickly caught his fist mid-execution and countered by slamming him to the ground.
“You’re attacking me head-on? Don’t take me lightly, little crow. Just because I can’t ingest physical attacks doesn’t mean that you should underestimate me! I’ll have you know that my Kung Fu is really good. Maybe this will teach you…” She punched him a few more times in the face.
Simultaneously, fighting against Eratool, Chirako glanced over in Drazil’s direction where he witnessed him getting his face bashed in by the miniature vulture. “This is…?” His active Crownus picked up on something in particular.
“Oi, don’t ignore me!” While Chirako was distracted, Eratool attacked him with a sweeping kick of turbulent waves.
Chirako vanished into a thin bolt of lightning only to instantly reappear before Eratool from where he kicked him in the face. “Lightning burst!”
Eratool crashed into a nearby tree surrounded by zapping lightning bolts.
“Die you, filthy crow bastard!” Short Stuff kept on punching Drazil’s face repeatedly. Eventually, he couldn’t take any more hits and mustered the strength to grab her hands.
“It is you who’s taking me lightly, shrimp bitch!” Drazil had many separated feathers spread about the leafy expanse. He set them all ablaze, moreover, formed a connecting limb with them that he used to grab hold of the huge tree trunk that he blasted earlier.
“Explosive Tree Limb!”
“What?”
The swooshing tree limb slapped Short Stuff very far away, causing her to crash into the flat side of a huge rock where a crater was immediately formed. Drazil flew over to where she was stunned fixedly inside the huge rock. By manipulating his red Krowqui Circles he started conjuring a huge white orb above his palm.
“Ha-ha-ha-ha! Look at that plucked up face of yours. I recon no male vulture will ever look twice in your direction again, little shrimp.” Drazil mocked the battered and bruised vulture. “I’ll plucking end you with my ultimate technique!”
A flaming crimson bird began forming in the white orb that Drazil had hovering above his palm while a blazing feathery spiral was orbiting the exterior. Overall, this element resembled a transparent mini planet that had a flaming red bird inside as well as a glowing outer ring replete with explosive feathers. The heat it was producing was enough to even affect the hothead Drazil himself.
“It’s getting too damn hot. I better release it soon.” Staring intensely at the short objective of his humiliation, Drazil prepared to unleash his ultimate technique. “Die bitch! Go, Ultimate Crowzengan!”
Drazil tossed forth his signature technique. The moment his hot Ultimate Crowzengan crashed into Short Stuff a very noticeable, moreover, a massive explosion occurred. The explosion was so powerful and hot that it instantly shattered the huge rock to smithereens. Short Stuff immediately turned into glowing dust particles; only the resilient 5 ribbons remained.
“What just happened?” The noticeable blast attracted Eratool’s attention. He was utterly flabbergasted by the earlier proceedings.
Chirako didn’t look too surprised. He only whispered to himself, “Just as I’ve seen it.”
“Short Stuff!” Eratool got ticked off upon realizing the fatal demise that has befallen his vulture comrade.
“I can’t believe it… he really killed her? That bastard really did it?” Eratool searched among the ground for Short Stuff’s remains but he couldn’t find a thing. “NOOOO!”
Drazil came down to where he was crying out and started bragging. “Ha-ha-ha-ha! That’s what you get for plucking with me, bitch.” He spat on the ground at a partial remnant of Short Stuff’s remains. This action of his only incited more rage in Eratool’s mien.
“Wow, not even her body parts survived that frightening blast.” The 3 students who were in hiding began to rethink their plan to approach Drazil carelessly.
Zef asked, “Zegle, what do we do now? Do we still execute the plan? That hothead is plucking dangerous!”
Darting his snake eyes about, Zegle responded tremblingly, “De-devil spawn!” He was legitimated scared. “I thought this was supposed to be a friendly competition. I had no idea that people were going to die.”
Zegle, Holly and Zef remained concealed in their hiding place where they continued to observe the ongoing situation.

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.

Debut: the day every young gentleperson of age gathers to receive their Spirit Blessing and shift for the first time into their second form. Except for those who don't. Beatrice's worst fear is to be one of the unlucky few trapped perpetually in a human body, cut off from the magic of the spirits and unfit for any respectable pack or pride. But when the time comes to face her fear, the outcome is one she never could have imagined. Be warned, this story is some highly experimental fluff—an unapologetically girly, unrelentingly bisexual, Regency/Victorian-ish fantasy mish-mash. It does have a dark side, though, so don’t come in expecting all sunshine and roses. Worthy of note, given the reputation of shifter stories: there will be no explicit sex in this tale. There will, however, be lots of polyamorous romance, necromancy, portal magic, capricious spirits, elemental mages, an unconventional take on shifters and a highly ordered society built around their existence.
