“Sorry my wife-her mother would absolutely lose her marbles if she found a specimen like you in here. Ah good you took off your shoes, anyways, Hello. I’m Albert Moon, you can call me AL, Albert, Mr. Moon in front of the wife if you want to make a good impression” Mr. Moon whisper. He held the door shut with his heel before reaching out for a handshake.
“Hey, Mr. Moon. I read your paper on Nuclear Energy, it was phenomenal. I agree with your point of Nuclear being the next step once we figure out the washing procedures, but I also believe that we could had a totally clean power source with a hydrogen base, though that in itself woul- Sorry. Introductions first, I am Jacob Davis, I got to Gotham Heights with Cindy” Jacob smiled, he was researching how close they were on creating the infinite energy that iron man had in New York, but the closest thing he could find was Nuclear with Palmer Technologies, and the East Coast Techtronics Lab that are currently working to achieve a new generation of power sources. Mr. Moon’s eyes widened before cheesing a huge smile.
They both shook hands before a knock was heard on the door, and Cindy was pushing him towards the closet, Jacob grabbed her hands making her slightly shy before shaking her head before closing the closet which smelt mostly of Vanilla. Jacob then heard another door open, and the ruffling of fabrics.
‘Either a fight is happening or, they’re hugging.’ Jacob crouched as he thought.
“Hey Cin” Her mom called out. They talked her parent’s trip for a while before everything quieted down and footsteps were heard coming towards him. He prepared for the worst but when the door opened he saw Cindy’s eyes look at him. He thought she was going to stay something but she then turned around and then walked like the nutcracker to her bed before plopping on the bed. The air escaped under he making her look like she was trying to make a snow angel. She tried to hid it but her face looked annoyed.
“What’s wrong?” Jacob asked. He closed the door before leaning his head on the door.
Cindy didn’t move leaving her legs dangling.
“It’s not- You know when you fill up a kettle pot too much and put it on the fire. It boils over” Cindy asked. Jacob thought it for a while before nodding his head.
“My mom pours too much in my kettle sometimes, and I try to dump it out, or drink it. But sometimes it’s just too much. She explained her trip because she wanted me to intern there, not because she cared about me knowing what happened.” Cindy admitted. Jacob closed his eyes before walking over, and he saw her face. He sat on the bed, and poked her stomach which made her smile.
“Stopp.” Cindy smiled. She sat up before leaning her head on his should as she looked at the ground.
“Me, and my mom. Don’t have the best relationship ever, and recently It’s been getting worse. I wish I knew why there’s always one of our parents that don’t get along with us as well but I think we both know that our mothers mean well.
“I know, it’s just-”
“Frustrating” The both of the murmured before looking at each other, Jacob noticed their shoulder’s touching, but before he could mention it, Heard her stomach grumble ready to eat her from the inside out. Jacob chuckled before she fell back down on her bed. She grabbed her pillow before screaming into it.

“You need food, you mom doesn’t know that I am over. We’re both hungry. What to do, what to do.” Jacob grinned causing Cindy to throw a pillow at him, hitting him before smiling herself. He then started tickling her, she tried to get him stop but his with having superpowers like his came with super dexterity.
“Okay, Jacob, Ok- Jay stop” Cindy grabbed his hands causing the two become interwoven. He let his hand fall to hear what she had to say.
”I know this might be a little weird, but my mom hates the idea of me dating which is why my father held the door, and I pushed you into the closet. What’s today Friday? Okay how about we restart this hole thing from the top. You leave through the way you came, and I’ll tell my mom to order pizza. You knock on door, I pretend like I told her we had something plan, she’ll want to eat dinner with the four of us to get to know you, and if she likes you we come back in here to study.” Cindy strategized . Jacob ran it through his head, though he didn’t feel like coming through the building via an elevator.
‘There might be an window at the end of a floor’s lobby I could find myself in. Should I get a present. Flowers, maybe? ’ Jacob thought before getting pinched.
“Whensh shid wesh bicomfe slo cliuse” Jacob asked. Cindy gave a quick smile before getting up.
“When you tickled me.” Cindy then left the room, leaving him by himself. He heard her talking to her parent down the hall leaving him the freedom to make his stealthy exit. Jacob opened the window before launching himself out of the window into free fall. He realized he left his backpack, but coming back he quickly shot a web, pulling himself to the building before trying to figure out if the building had an accessible windows, before looking up.
“When in doubt just look up Jacob” Jacob then shot two webs to the highest point he could, and backed up tensioning the web lines. Once they was at their max he let his body fall, and he quickly soared through the sky. He made it up to the roof, with his hands in his pockets and he gave a little spin seeing if anyone needed a reason to be quiet about his secret for the rest of their lives. He looked around until he saw a door open. It was Mr. Moon with a lit cigarette. Mr. Moon instantly noticed Jacob as he pretended to be looking around.
“How did you get up here?” Mr. Moon questioned. Jacob squinted his eyes before poorly pretending to recognize Mr. Moon.
“Oh Mr. Moon, Big AL. I- Uh just climbed, the uh-stairs and opened the door?” Jacob smiled pointing to the door. Albert turned around before taking a puff of his cigarette.
“That door needs a keypad to unlock, You telling me, Cindy gave you the code?” Albert probed further, Jacob thought it for a while before shaking his head.
“I climbed the fire escape. Cindy wanted to do things right, so instead of me sneaking. She’s gonna pretend like she told her mo- your wife that she agreed to this. I told her not too, I was like ‘Cindy Moon this is barbaric, chaotic. This monstrosity of a plan will never work.’ ” Jacob lied clean through. He puckered his lips in disapproval.

”Uh- sure. Um okay, fix yourself. You look nice kid, and you are obviously smart if you understood the underlying problem in the nuclear space and it’s shortcomings but besides that I need you to just promise me something.” Albert plucked his Cigarette to the floor and smashing it. He walked towards Jacob, and point at his heart.
“Promise that you won’t lie that bad to anyone again. Seriously I suck at lying but you are just god awful.” Mr. Moon waited for Jacob to show acceptance of his ineptitud before her continued.
“Two, hurt my little girl Jacob and I swear it’s over. Once she’s in there for you, your heart, I don’t want you doing anything that would ruin that. Now it’s okay you guys separately peacefully, or if she breaks up with you. But don’t. Don’t do anything to hurt her. She can love deeply, and She gets attached. It’s been hard for her after her brother went missing. So please, take care of her if you going to have any relationship with my daughter. Capeesh ” Mr. Moon demanded, Jacob nodded. Albert than patted Jacobs shoulder before sharply turning towards the door. His suit rising with the wind.
‘Shounen Protagonist is strong with this one’ Jacob thought in his Yoda voice.
“Let’s go, meet my wife” Mr. Moon announced. Jacob followed suit, and after a couple of flights of stairs, he saw a light coffee tan with red carpeting, and brown furniture in that was the lobby and at the end of it Jacob noticed the a vase with flowers. He picked a lily before entering the elevator with Cindy’s father as it was closing he heard.
“Cindy’s mom hates lilies.”
‘Well good thing this is for Cindy.’ Jacob noticed that one of Cindy’s had drawings of flower near her bedside dresser and while they were Dandelions, he believe it was the thought that counted. They reached the 20th floor, where they took to the left side of the hallway, and turned the corned until the reached her apartment.
“2012” Jacob read the number before making sure he looked presentable. Albert looked him before unlocking on the door and looking at Jacob. He opened the door, and Cindy was the first one to be seen down the hallway. She looked towards the two of them.
“Mom. Ja-He’s here, I guess he met dad on his way here” Cindy smile before walking towards Jacob.
“I’m glad that you’ve made it, Jacob- this is my dad, Al-”
“We’ve already met on our way up, baby. He’s certainly got a head on his shoulders. You know how to pick them, You’ve told him about our plans for the night.” Mr.Moon smiled, patting Jacob’s shoulder before his wife came to the door to see him. She had medium length hair and was shorter than expected. Cindy was already at her height.
“Plans” Both Cindy and Jacob said at the same time. They both looked at him before, looking at each other.
“Yeah, plans for pizza, your mother did say that if you were going to go on a date with a boy that we would have dinner together. Right Nari?” Albert smiled, They both dawned in realization before Albert made his way in while Cindy grabbed Jacob’s hand, pulling him in to the living room which was a lot nicer and bigger than his apartment. Jacob felt his hand slowly entrench Cindy’s as they found themselves comfortable on the couch. Albert and Nari sat together in a love chair, while Nari looked at Jacob.
“SO Jacob, what do you think about, my Cindy” Nari eyes squinted, glaring at him and already in a phase of disapprovement. Albert sighed, knowing where this line of conversation led too.
“MO-” Jacob squeezed her hand before letting go, and clasping them together and laying them on his knees.
“Cindy is a great person, we have a class in history together, and physics class. We don’t get to talk that often but soon enough I felt that I wanted to know about her, so I asked her to hangout. She is one of the smartest in our school after all.”
“See Nari, he has good attentions.” Albert defended, but Nari didn’t say anything.
“Shush, I am just asking him some questions…Anyways, so Jacob, What do you plan on doing after school? Any hobbies that you have that you plan on pursuing full time?” Nari held a straight face trying to scare him but Jacob just smiled. He thought it was going to harder than it was.
“For right now, I am just learning some basic code in order to build some code. I have a few things in the works besides that, but I guess I just want to be in the business of helping people whether it’s similar to my parents, you guys, or something technical like engineering and those fields. I guess” Jacob observed Nari’s mom, but her widening eyes made him believe that she was liking what he was saying.
‘Of course I can’t just tell her that I am an aspiring Superhero’ Jacob thought to himself before hearing.
“Can you give me some de-”
The doorbell suddenly rung, causing all of them to turn their heads but Cindy was the first one up, and she grabbed Jacob again pulling him towards the door.
“I’ll get it!” Cindy called out, Jacob followed while seeing the two of them discuss something quietly. Jacob then turned back his head seeing that Cindy had already opened the door, and was holding out some cash.
“Here you go, Have a nice day” Cindy said as she exchanged the money for pizza. It was a fairly large pizza so Jacob decided to help her out. Grabbing the pizza box, he followed her to the kitchen where they were alone shoulder to shoulder looking at the closed pizza box.
“My mom, doesn’t really accept you yet, which is stupid.”
“I thought-”
“I know, she said she did but trust me, she is hard to win over. I don’t know why, she just doesn’t like me hanging out with boys. Not that it matters, if we get to da- hang out or not. That is all up to me, now is that for me? Btw, don’t you have a better GPA than me?” Cindy said as she pointed at the lily he was still holding on too. He looked at it before nodding, embarrassed that he had just brought in a single flower, but Cindy swiped it from his hands before sniffing it, and putting it next to her hair and smiling at him.
