《Biogenes: The Series》Chapter 36

“The great ice bird, ardeidae glacies, is most closely related to the heron. It is believed that fewer than a hundred of them live throughout the world. Three are known to exist within the territory of the United States, and though no account of their mating activities exists, the females produce small clutches of eggs every few years. Vanishingly few survive to adulthood. It is believed the current climate is simply too warm for their kind.”
~ Bek Trent, M.A.S.O
Zien stood back from the rush, just within the entrance to the nightwings’ caverns. Her ears were perked, listening, and Comet hunched by her side, dark eyes focused on the comings and goings of her kin. Zien’s violet eyes shone.
“And so,” the leader of the tree wolves purred, “the myriad pieces of our quest come together. The dragons have returned to the earth. Now we must only safeguard their and the humans’ lives until the four of them are ready to take their places. Hess, and the Zara, must fail…”
Comet crooked an ear. “The wolf?” the nightwing questioned slyly.
Zien shook her head slowly. “She is nothing like I have seen before…and the human, too. I had thought that the dragons would be the only ones that mattered, but I believe I may have been wrong. The ability to take good from evil, light from darkness, and much more, I think, sits with Silver. She is more than a beastspeaker and guardian of the dragons. The Zara has made this obvious.”
“But her heart is not clear.”
“No,” Zien agreed softly, “it is not. For that, I fear she will suffer. Hatred is poison to her, and her kindness and power both are too great. She has much to learn about magic, and no time…”

Comet whistled, looked sideways at her. “They must wait to go after the Stone. The dragons are too young, and we cannot risk losing the humans now. Either of them.”
“We can give them weeks, and only weeks,” Zien purred, “the fate of the world rests on their shoulders. For now, send your messengers, Comet. We will have the vampires as allies soon enough.”
“Such confidence has led to the death of many a srinn, Zien.”
“Then I will die believing in our success,” the alpha of the tree wolves rumbled, violet eyes sparkling. “There is only life. One path lies before us. Only one. And we will take it.”

The Limits of Limitless
Author's Note: So, new author here, nice to meet you from this lovely one sided conversation lol. I was so tired of waiting for the perfect story for me so I decided to write a few of my own. These are basically just to make me happy, but if you enjoy them too that would make me happy as well lol. ______________________________________________________________________________________ So once upon a time, there was a convienent, and slightly cliche, plot device used by a somewhat lazy author.... Which in turn, created an easily made story of how a lucky high schooler posing as a hardcore gamer dies only to resurrect in a fantasy reality, meeting beautiful women, powerful dragons and ancient beings, an assortment of insanely escentric fellows, and a certain over powered ring. Journey with them as they explore the wilderness of twisted imagination. Or for you old timey folk who like their synopsis a bit tame, here you go: Jason, a senor in highschool, is slowly failing school due to not giving a fuck. Like many people now in the year 3056, he is obsessed with the wonderful invention most lovingly called, 'True Virtual Realities'. now by using his obsession with his favorite Virtual Reality game called 'Reality Controlled', which is the first and so called best Virtual Reality ever made. it was basically the all around escape humanity wished for, and he with heaven defying luck came across one of the three cheat items the game developers left for themselves: The Limitless Ring. The ring was a support type item and had the ability to grant wishes, store worlds, clone items, grant skills and easily learn abilities. But those are just a few of the things it could do. Using the ring he successfully became the "best player" and had a herd of fans following him everywhere. It was a dream come true. Until, he was killed from a power surge that fried his brain which was hooked up to the Nerve Capsule, an unsafe prototype of the Dive gear that he bought do to low funds. The end. Or so you would think.... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: I was, to be honest, wanting to do a collab, because to me it is sooooooo incredibly boring to write by yourself since you always know what happens next, however no one enjoys a bit of friendly cooperation *sigh* so I'm forced to journey these roads alone.... 'Tis but a sad fate tha' 'is here young'un has t' bear. The cover isn't mine, all rights and stuff goes to its artist and such.

The Roseguard's Odyssey: The tale of the hunted
Ablan is the home of the most skilled warriors in Aelmion, the brotherhood of bounty hunters. But even these ruthless hunters are kept in line by the Council Shadows, ten apex hunters and their guilds who rule Ablan from the top of the floating oasis casino. Luna is a shadow of Ablan. But when it comes to bounties, she and her guild have two strict rules: no killing, and no contracts involving children or animals in any way. When a criminal syndicate came to her to bring in a group of slavers, it was supposed to just end with her being paid her weight in gold. But aside from her reward, what she found in the slaver’s mines was Elizabeth. Unable to leave the seven-year-old alone, she breaks her own rule and agrees to bring the child home. But as they begin the long journey across the continent, Luna finds out that the child is the missing Princess Elizabeth Balder Van Stahlblut II, the heir of the two powerful empires of the Braenarim Republic and the Iron Nation of Aspana. As if protecting a princess is bad enough, it only gets worse. To get home, they need to go through the United Silvus States, a pro-human nation that is hell bent on taking the princess by any means. But not just Silvus is their problem. A race of murderous machines, mage executioners called the Huntsmen, the enigmatic Chimera trading company, other bounty hunters, and even savage monsters in the dark stand in their way. To protect her, all of Luna’s skills and the limits of her morality are put to the test. But will it be enough? Can both of them survive the Tale of the hunted? =0*o*0= Cover portrait created by the very talented tsuki_desenha at Instagram! Look him up for his incredible work!
