《Astral Battle Summoner Academy》Looking Around (1)

As the System finished its reports promptly, Lui Wing felt that the building had changed from before. Although the building was cleaner and newer looking, the place’s ambiance felt mysterious and powerful.
Walking toward the garden, Lui Wing noticed two separate smaller octangular tiered pavilion buildings behind the main academy building. Curious, Lui Wing walked toward the farthest one by the garden.
This building had a simple look to it, but the ornate wooden structure design that went into making it seem like the wood needed nothing fancy. Instead, this was an ancient-looking three-story octangular pagoda pavilion.
Walking inside had a large center octagon wooden tube for the center support with a curved staircase, reaching the other two floors. All the floors were covered with rows of bookshelves. This was a library pavilion. Due to it not having much, Lui Wing went to the next building.
This building had a bluish tint to the wood with green and gold accent colors. The octangular building had a double-eave and gable hip-style roof, all sides sloping gently downwards and ending in a graceful upturned eave decorated by a circular cap. On top of the decorative wood were green glazed rounded tiles placed in rows along rows, flowing with the wooden structure.
Walking into the structure, a small pill furnace was in the center of the room. One of the back walls has a small table and bookshelf lined with empty pill bottles. This was obviously a pill pavilion; the open windows helped circulate the air and help dry herbs.
The air outside was fresh from the garden’s herbs. At the moment, the garden collected ordinary herbs that the System merged with the surrounding wildlife. For the garden to be of any use for cultivation, the herbs needed to soak in the surrounding essence energy that nature provided to become spiritual herbs.

It usually takes multiple years, but with the help of the System and if he learned a few essence gathering arrays, that could happen in Lui Wing’s lifetime.
An essence gathering array is one of the many types that the previous host knew. An array is a magical formation drawn on essence-enhanced metal sheets for casting spells.
An array formation looks like a cube, but when it is thrown on the ground, it seems like a circle. There are plenty of steps one would need to go through to make it a blacksmith, an enchanter, and an array master. Each profession has a ranking system. The rankings are rookie, adapt, master, and grandmaster.
Lui Wing had thought that once he could gather rare medical plants and spiritual herbs for pill making, he could sell them to the students to make an even more profit. The same thing counts when he learns pill-making through the apothecary guild.
More than ever, Lui Wing wanted to break through to the mortal realm to start his cultivation journey. Looking at the pagoda pavilion building stretching far above did, he feels a sense of purpose.
To get to the entrance of the building, one would have to walk up three stone steps to get to the main hall; embedded in the stone steps were two pillars with intricate carvings supporting the awning’s roof.
The different amounts of interlocking and overlapping wood in the structural columns and crossbeams of the underside of the roof made the overall aesthetic attractive to look at.
The pillars had the same design, carved in wood; an ancient dragon beast was twisted around each post. The top and bottom of both the pillars looked like clouds depicting the dragon flying.
The carved dragons were long, thin, and covered in golden scales, giving off a frightening aura. Each of the four legs had five sharp talons for claws, and the head of the dragon was positioned to where it looked down at a person walking up.

The mouth of the dragons had a set of long flowing whiskers showcasing its open maw with a vast amount of fangs; only four were long, two at the top and bottom. On top of both dragon’s heads were a set of antler-like horns. If one moved their head just right, they could see a flaming pearl under its chin.
Wanting to check the additional details that the System made, Lui Wing went inside the newly cleaned building. Overall, Lui Wing was happy with the results; the building was beginning to actually look like an academy. Although it was missing quite a few necessary things to function, it was way better than what it was.
The dark wood flooring was polished and showed a vibrant hue that it hadn’t shown in a while, given its age. Whem opening up the menu, the blueprint hovered off the floor. Then, finally, it reached Lui Wing’s Waist height, and he found out that by just clicking on a room, he could find its details.
The main floor could hold a few people with the open floor plan. Two large carved wooden stairs led to the second floor, one on each side of the room.
There was a door on the left side of the second floor. Looking at the blueprint, the room behind the door was an office; connected to the office was a tiny closet with a strange portal. Confused about that, Lui Wing looked back at the blueprint and read that the portal led to an immortal’s cave.
Eyes sparkling, Lui Wing had read about an immortal’s cave before in books from his own world. The books depicted that once a person has a corresponding seal, they could access the cave.
Leaving all matters aside, for now, Lui Wing raced up the left stairs and went into the office. There was a desk in the room, and on the desk was a carved jaded slip.
Holding the slip, Lui Wing looked towards the closet. On the door was a square formation; Lui Wing waved his right hand, making the jaded slip fly towards the formation and slap onto its surface. A soft click was heard, and the door opened up; on the back of the small closet was a black portal that was wavering in the shadow.

Blue Hills
Nothing had ever felt quite right for Alexander Adamson. He'd worked his way up to a job he could tolerate, a few casual friends, and even a nice little apartment that he could call his own, though it really wasn't. The problem was that none of it was satisfying. It was as though he were going through the motions of a life, rather than having one of his own. Of course, it didn't exactly feel right when he woke up in a strange bed in the middle of nowhere. Nor when he was told that he was now the proud owner and operator of a local farm. A farm that had belonged to a late uncle he'd never known. But with the first train out of town a full 'season' away, he had plenty of time to get used to the idea. Plenty of time, perhaps, to even get to like the strange little town of Blue Hills. I have a discord now. Marvel at my ability to somehow still be antisocial on the other side of a screen! Back from hiatus along with my other fiction. Chapters are on a Thurs/Sun schedule until book 3 of that fiction is completed, at which point I'll be updating this daily. At which point uh.... I dunno what I'm going to do.
