Day 14 in Integration

In front of WiIl's squad gathered nearly 100 men and woman tribesman, despite most of them weren't armed and was looking hungry sheer hatred that they were sending to the squad was suffocating.

When from the village stopped coming people a man who was looking like leader of the tribesman shouted.

-FELLOW TRIBESMAN TODAY WE WOULD FINALLY REVENGE FOR EVERYTHING THAT THEY DID.

As tribesman was going to attack and Sadar ordered to everyone get ready to fire, from tribe running came elderly man with a mustache.

-STOP!! DON'T ATTACK YOU STUPID MORONS!!

When an elderly man came the first thing that he did was to hit the leader of angry tribesmen with a stick. It was looking like the elderly man have great respect among tribesmen because after coming he began giving instructions to everyone and after calming the tribesman, he whispered something to the leader of the tribesmen.

-WHO ARE YOU? AND WHAT DO YOU...

Tribesman leader gets one more hit from the elderly man.

-WHAT BRING YOU TO OUR HUMBLE TRIBE?

Seeing that for now battle won't start, Will sighted with relief and ordered Sadar to shout his answers.

-WE CAME HERE FOR TRADE BUT UNEXPECTEDLY FOUND OURSELVES WELCOMED WITH HOSTILITY.

The elderly man again whispered to the leader of tribesmen who unwillingly screamed.

-WE ARE SORRY FOR MISUNDERSTANDING, I MIXED UP YOU WITH BANDITS WHO WERE TORMENTING OUR TRIBE.

-IT IS UNCOMFORTABLE TO TALK LIKE THIS WHY WE WON'T MEET IN THE MIDDLE AND TALK NORMAL.

Said Sadar by the order of Will.

The elderly man agreed and immediately gone to the middle ground between sides. With him were two men, first was the leader of the tribesman who wasn't looking very remarkable but the second was 2,3 m high muscular giant with a body thickness of two-man and scary eyes, the first thing that came to the mind of Will when he saw him was a word "Berserk".

As Will was going to meet tribesman with Sadar and Rey, he was stopped by Sadar.

-I don't think that you should go, this giant has a very strong aura so if something will go wrong I won't be able to protect you.

-If they would attack us then we all be doomed, despite being poorly armed and exhausted from hunger most of them look much stronger than our men. You can see that too aren't you?

Sadar nodded with a somber face.

In the middle ground between two sides Will was sitting at the pillow and in front of him were sitting an elderly man with mustache, behind each of them were standing two people.

The elderly man started first.

Will looked at Sadar to be sure that his assumptions are true and as if understanding what he thinks, Sadar nodded.

"It looks like my marquis dress effect is pretty strong on Mushra, I need to take full advantage of this"

From that time we don't dare to send people to even hunt so unfortunately we can't lend you warriors.

-But you have to understand that if this will continue then you just would die from hunger or even worse, bandits would attack when you won't have the power to resist.

It was Okra who anwered.

-Of course, we understand that! If you are so worried about us then give a solution or at least leave for us the food that you brought.

-OKRA!

To the mind of Will came an idea.

-What are their numbers? From where they attacked the village? What can you say about their tactics? How about their equipment?...

Will smiled and answered.

Day 16 in Integration

As Will was looking like Sadar prepared forces for the upcoming battle Rey came up to him dissatisfied, as always.

-My lord, it is the third day as we are stuck here maybe they even won't come.

-They will come, we took tribes best warriors and hunters, we also gave to the tribe great amount of food, whoever is sly who tortured the tribe so cleverly, for him it is a great opportunity to attack the tribe and if he won't use this chance then tribe again would be full so he would need to wait until tribes food will be over again.

Seeing that his explanation didn't satisfy Rey, Will added.

-Looks like something else is on your mind, come on speak.

-Why we have to fight their battle? We could've just taken our food and go!

-Do you really think that they would let us go with all those food? If I were in their place I would've taken all our food and killed us, fearing retaliation.

Seeing that Rey bit her lips and don't want to answer, Will continued.

-Help them to defeat bandits is the best way, after this battle we would become their benefactors and allies so they won't dare to attack us.

"And if everything would go as planned then they even can join us"

-THIS IS SIGNAL!! THEY ARE COMING!!

As Sadar shouted, everyone got to their positions.

Squad and 30 warriors from the village took a position in the back of a big hill next to which enemy was coming.

5 men with crossbows stood at the top of the hill, to not scare the enemy and because of the far distance, it was decided to fire the first row from crossbows and hide the rest of the army.

The enemy was 38 cavalrymen, every one of them was in grey iron armor and looked like seasoned warriors even their horses were armored. Especially scary was looking their leader in a large dark-brown rhino with black armor and a mix of halberd and spear as a weapon, his weapon had a tip like in a spear and a huge blade on both sides like in a halberd.

-ENEMY AT FIRST LINE!! CROSSBOWS FIRE!!

With signal 5 men fired from the crossbows, unfortunately only one shot hit and wounded target. As a leader of the bandits was going to attack immediately, one of the bandits tried to stop him but the leader just shouted at him and led the attack.

-ENEMY AT SECOND LINE!! ARCHERS FORWARD!!

When bandits passed 1/3 of the hill 20 squad members who were armed with bows including Will, and 10 tribesmen armed with slingshots appeared at the top of the hill.

For a moment bandits were shocked and stopped the attack, leader of the bandits quickly shouted something and the bandits continued to attack but they already lost speed.

-TAKE AIM!! FIRE!!

The row of arrows and stones fell on the enemy, one bandit immediately died and 3 more fell from the horses, it was a pity that because of reloading, crossbows didn't fire this time.

As the enemy was trying to pick up speed they came under fire again and this time thanks to closer shooting and previous wounds 3 bandits died and 4 more fell from horses.

-ENEMY AT THIRD LINE!! EVERYBODY LAST SHOOT AND RETREAT!!

As the enemy came dangerously close to the top of the hill, the time came for the last and most devastating shot. The enemy was that close that a little more and archers could've seen their faces so with shaking hands was released final row after which archers began to retreat behind the hill.

This time even crossbowmen fired and killed 3 bandits by themselves, the total of enemy casualties in the last row was 9 dead and 4 fallen from horses.

Cheered up seeing that enemy retreated, the fighting spirit of bandits rose but as they climbed the hill and were going to use momentum to crush the enemy they were met with wooden pikes from below.

It was a dangerous idea to give cavalry attack you from the top of the hill because of the terrifying momentum that they would get, but it also didn't give them chance to react so Will ordered to install wooden pikes that they made in two days of waiting for the enemy, at the back of the hill so bandits would have to stop their horses or even fell from them, Will didn't expect to make high casualties to the enemy with this crude made pikes, just hold them in place.

From 14 cavalrymen that remained, 11 were held in their places and 20 tribesmen most of whom Will gave his shields and spears attacked them. But what didn't go as planned was that the rhino easily crushed wooden pikes in front of him and attacked retreating archers.

As Will was retreating with archers he felt a little shaking and after a moment heard screams behind, turning he saw bandit leader who with his weapon cut off the head of "Farmer" that lagged behind, noticing Will he smiled with bloodlust and went in Will's direction.

-SADAR!

Will wanted to run away but his legs didn't listen to him and as the rhino was approaching him at high speed the first thing that came to his mind was to call Sadar. Sadar was one of the archers that were retreating so by the time Will called him Sadar already was running to the aid and managed at the last moment to push Will out of the rhino's way.

-RUN! I WOULD DETAIN HIM!
