《Arrogant Young Master becomes an Adventurer》11. Necromancers -Lyonhall Arc

Jakari’s mother took his guild id card into her hands. Her face was rapidly distorting into great fury and her hands were shaking as she handed it back to Jakari.
“THOSE @#$%@#$ PIGS! THEY RUINED MY SON’S GOOD NAME! I HAVE TO TEACH THOSE @#$%@#$ PIGS A LESSON!” roared Jakari’s mother as Jakari’s father was desperately holding her back from storming into Lyonhall’s guildhall.
“Kari! Please don’t destroy our son’s dreams of being an adventurer, it's the least we can do for him. The guild can rectify that mistake, it's not something to get offended by.”
“NEVER! THE LYONHALL GUILD IS CORRUPT! I TELL YOU! CORRUPT! I MUST TEACH THOSE SLIMY PIGS A LESSON!” screamed Kari.
This was a regular occurrence for Jakari’s parents. They would have a minor argument like this nearly once a week with a major argument once a month. Jakari would often avoid his parent’s lovers' quarrels by playing with his siblings. But since he was by himself, the best course of action was to completely avoid his mother until she had calmed down. Jakari had to find an evil necromancer to serve as a scapegoat for his earlier murders over the copper-ranked trash that wanted to hurt him yesterday.
***
In the town of Lyonhall, the guild lackeys and young snaggers were working together to spread the news of an evil powerful necromancer trying to destroy Lyonhall. The necromancer wasn’t a banned class and they were a rarity in Lyonhall. There were currently 3 necromancers in Lyonhall, one of them being wood-ranked, a 2nd being copper-ranked and the 3rd being bronze-ranked. The guild officers had arrested the 3 necromancers before they had a chance to escape when the news broke out about the necromancers murdering people. Many of the other adventurers played a key role in preventing their escape as well. The 3 necromancers are currently in the guild’s jail, awaiting their unjust trial.
The wood-ranked necromancer begged, “it can’t be me! I only do plant necromancy! I only bring dead plants back from the grave! Why would I ever experiment on people!”
The copper-ranked necromancer pleaded, “It’s not me either! I had never done necromancy on people in my entire life! I only brought dead monsters back from the grave!”
The bronze-ranked necromancer protested, “Well I do use necromancy magic on dead people. But I wouldn’t kill any living person to practice my necromancy! This is a sham! You are trying to cover up your corruption! Where is the guild inspector! If you guys investigate carefully, you will know it cannot be me! I also had an alibi that night, many people can confirm it for me!”
“ALL OF YOU! SHUT THE @#$% UP! The diamond-ranked guild inspector from headquarters will determine the fate of you criminals!” warned one of the guild lackeys.
“Thank god!” exclaimed the bronze-ranked necromancer. “Don’t worry everyone. The three of us will be set free soon. The guild inspector will realize the foolishness of these guild morons.”
Meanwhile, in one of the quiet streets of Lyonhall, a masked boy with a gray hood was walking quietly around the town. He was a high-gold ranked necromancer and he came here to have revenge against Lyonhall’s guild-master Blaze who was also his father. He detested his father for always mistreating all of his sisters. He always tried to get the guild authorities involved to investigate his corruption but they had always ignored him as Lyonhall had 0 adventurers' death in over 50 years. The guild always brushed him off as a crazy lunatic trying to destroy Lyonhall. The truth was, the guild had more important things to worry about than some low-life stealing money from the wood-ranks. His rage and anger had grown over the last 15 years of his life, all by himself he taught himself necromancy without anyone’s help and was planning to kill his father and all his loyal cronies.

“How the @#$% did they know I was here!” the necromancer gnashed his teeth.
Achieving high-gold ranked at 15 years old was definitely among the top talents among the youths. And this was a self-taught necromancer! He was steadily building up an army of thousands of undead zombies to attack Lyonhall all at once. The strength of the undead zombies was at a mere wood-ranked but it was only to serve as a distraction and wouldn’t cause any casualties but only panic among Lyonhall. All of Lyonhall’s attack force would be too busy handling the zombie horde while he stealthily attacks his father who will most likely be alone. His trump card against his father consisted of 3 former high-gold ranked adventurers who had willingly agreed to be turned into undead minions if they were to die. They still had the strength and skills of high-gold ranked adventurers but none of their willpower exist. It was a sure-fire plan because his father was the only high-gold ranked person in the town of Lyonhall, it was going to be 3 against 1!
Unfortunately, as the 15yo necromancer was scouting around Lyonhall, thousands of his undead wood-ranked zombies were annihilated by an unknown force in an instant! His distraction ploy was now gone. He was enraged that some idiot was ruining his justice! But he wasn’t going to give up as he still had his 3 high-gold ranked undead to murder his corrupt father with!

Now that Jakari’s mother had time to calm herself, a more civil discussion can continue.
“Please let your mother handle this matter. I will kidnap some random evil necromancer for you to bring to the guild as your scapegoat,” said Kari with a wry smile.
“No need mother. I will find the evil necromancer myself,” affirmed Jakari.
“My little Jakari has grown so much! I…. will let you handle this…” wept his mother.
“Thank you mother.”
The 3 of them talked for a little while before Jakari returned to the guild. His father and mother watched Jakari walk back to Lyonhall with doting eyes. Although his mother had agreed to let him handle this matter, his worried mother couldn’t stop herself from using her cloud magic to spy on her son. Kari was using her cloud eye skill, as long as there were clouds in the skies, they could act as her eyes peering down onto the world. Jay frowned at his wife for spying on their son but refrained from stopping her as he too was worried that Jakari wouldn’t be able to absolve himself of his crime.
Inside the guildhall, the moment Jakari step 1 foot inside, all attention was on him. A small piece of floating cloud was floating near the ceiling of the guildhall, it was nearly unnoticeable, since everyone was pretty much bronze-ranked or weaker, it was impossible for all these weaklings to notice a high-diamond ranked person spying on them. However, Jakari will know at all times if someone was spying on him and they would be provoking death for spying on him. But since it was a spying skill from his mother, he was completely unaware of it because he would never doubt his mother.
Jakari saw his 8 wives and they instantly gather up to him. Jakari was now sweating an ocean as he had forgotten to properly hide them from his mother! He quickly gave them new orders to make sure they were properly hidden from his mother.
Jakari ordered, “listen up. Never ever tell anyone that you are one of my wives. Always act like you don’t know me. Never approach me for anything. I want all of you wives to live your own lives as I will never need you.”

“But what if there is an emergency?” complained Melissa.
“Yeah!” agreed Celine.
The two wives didn’t glare at each other hatefully anymore and came to an unspoken agreement among them that only they will be allowed to be Sir Jacari’s women.
The rest of the wives complied with his orders but these two were proving to be a hindrance. The headache of the wives was beginning and Jakari was displeased.
“Trash should know their place!” retorted Jakari as he turned around to leave. Melissa and Celine stood there blankly.
But Jakari wanted to be a proper adventurer so he turned back to them again, “Fine, come to me if there’s an emergency.” If he let his wives die or be bullied by others, it would only drag down his reputation as a true adventurer.
Melissa and Celine experienced some heavy whiplash of emotions from Jakari and it only made them swoon harder for Jakari’s coldness and kindness combo against them.
The guild lackeys immediately inform Jakari of the 3 necromancers they arrested and wanted him to give his expert opinion on them. They led him to the guild’s jail where the 3 necromancers were being locked up all in one cell. The moment the 3 necromancers saw Jakari, they screamed at him for help. Jakari was annoyed that the 3 necromancer trash didn’t know how to be silent and know their place before Jakari. But the guild lackeys had used some sort of spell to silence the 3 of them and quiet had returned to the jail cell, Jakari gave a smile of approval to his guild lackeys.
Jakari wanted to pin all the blame on the 3 necromancers to absolve him of his crimes but realized maybe it would be too convenient so he decided to blame it all on one of them. It’s not that Jakari wanted to pin the blame on someone innocent but he had an incorrect assumption that the 3 necromancers locked up here were evil to start with. To find out which of the necromancers to throw under the bus, he asked them, “are you evil?”
“NO!” shouted the wood-ranked plant necromancer.
“I’M NOT EVIL!” shouted the copper-ranked monster necromancer.
“If I was evil. Why the @#$% would I expose myself like this?” complained the bronze-ranked necromancer. “I gave you idiots my alibi, it literally cannot be me! Let me go at once! You’re a diamond-ranked guild inspector and you are asking this! Don’t make me laugh!”
Jakari pointed at the bronze-ranked necromancer. “It’s him.” The only reason why Jakari decided to pin all the blame on him was that he was the most annoying one.
“Wait what! Are you insane! I have a freaking alibi with countless other adventurers that can vouch for me!” screamed the bronze-ranked necromancer.
“Shut the @#$% up! The guild inspector has spoken! You’re going to Impel prison!” shouted the guild lackey.
“How did sir Jacari know that he was the one responsible for the gruesome murders?”
“He’s diamond-ranked, they are at a completely different level than us bronze-ranks.”
“What if he’s truly innocent? I know the guild-master ordered us to obey Jakaci but what if he tricked the guild-master? Isn’t he supposed to do an inspection on our guild and not get involved with criminal matters? Shouldn’t we ask him for his official guild badge to ensure proper justice?”
“No need. The guild-master already confirmed Jacari’s true identity.” stated one of the guild lackeys who happened to be one of the guild master's cronies.
The guild lackeys freed the other two necromancers while keeping the bronze-ranked necromancer jailed.
The bronze-ranked necromancer was crying his heart out as he knew that his life was over now. He would be locked up and kept starving for the rest of his miserable life in Impel Prison. Jakari couldn’t care less about this trash and decided to leave the jail as he was done here, the guild’s special request will officially be done and he would be absolved of all of his murders. This delighted Jakari greatly as he can resume being a proper adventurer.
The bronze-ranked necromancer started laughing out like a maniac when he realized the corrupt diamond-ranked guild inspector had falsely accused him of false crimes just to get him into prison. “You guys are all @#[email protected]#$ idiots. I can’t believe you would allow false charges and false accusations to send someone to prison. I wondered how many innocent people are locked up for the rest of their lives because of your corruption. Good riddance, I hope my master is able to massacre you lot!”
The guild lackeys were annoyed at this talkative bronze-ranked necromancer but became fully alert when he issued a threat. They were going to question him further but the idiot bronze-ranked necromancer kept on spewing out his hatred.
“You lot will know true justice soon!” boasted the bronze-rank necromancer. “My master and his army of zombies will destroy all of Lyonhall! We will turn all of your corpses into undead for us to command! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!”
The guild lackeys talk amongst themselves while ignoring the jailed necromancer.
“Sir Jacari’s deep insight is too astonishing. He knew that he was an evil necromancer with just 1 question.”
“Ahh, so that is why sir Jacari ordered us to go back to the guild as his master is probably the dangerous person we are looking for.”
“We have reports from the adventurers that the monster surrounding Lyonhall had all been killed with none of their monster corpses looted yet. And countless pits of holes surrounding Lyonhal which most likely had zombies in them. Sir Jakari was able to determine there was a zombie army waiting to be unleashed onto Lyonhall so he sent us all back before handling it all alone. He even had the insight to kill off the other monsters so they wouldn’t become zombified when the attacks begin. His intelligence as a guild inspector is too unfathomable. How did he figure out their plan so quick!”
“@#$% this diamond-ranked guild inspector is truly @#$%@#$ scary! I wouldn’t dare provoke his overwhelming might and his terrifying intellect!”
The bronze-ranked necromancer looked at the guild lackeys with his face all worried. “Uh… did you say he was diamond ranked? @#$%! Why is he here! This place is supposed to be all newbies! My master is only high-gold ranked, we are screwed! @#$%@# hell.”
The guild lackeys let the jailed idiot reveal everything without them doing a thing, it was honestly too easy.
“Sir Jacari must have used some spell to get him to talk, he wouldn’t talk before,” stated the guild lackey as he rubbed his chin.
“Indeed sir Jacari is truly a remarkable guild inspector. He’s not even here and this necromancer moron is spilling out everything. Are all diamond-ranked guild inspectors from the guild’s main headquarter this terrifying!”

Chimera
Eleanor meant the world to Titus. So when an opportunity to bring her murderer to justice appears, Titus jumps on the chance. His quest, however, would mean traversing the dangerous world of Nivandor, a land infested with monsters, night hunters, and corrupt kings–nothing he and his lord, Lady Priscilla, couldn't handle. Their plans change, however, when both of them are dragged into a nightmare realm, a dimension filled with strange and powerful terrors unlike any they've ever faced. Titus's skill as a kinetic mage is put to the ultimate test as he must work with his lord to fight off the increasingly dangerous monsters that hunt them as they hunt down the three remaining Seraph lords sustaining the Nightmare. For only when the final Seraph lord is slain will the Nightmare truly end. --- Happy Holidays! I tried to get a chapter out this month, but there was just too much stuff to do and I got sick. There will also be more stuff to do come the month of December to the point that I don't think I will have a chance to finish the current story arc on a strong note. So, as of today, I will be going on hiatus until the holidays are over. I will hopefully return with the last few chapters of book 2 as well as the DLC chapters to help clarify Titus and Priscilla's powers as well as a look into their lives before the story gets crazy (maybe 6-7 chapters). These chapters are planned to take place in the day between Chapter 1.4 & Chapter 1.5, detailing the day they had before going to Nivandor. How the DLC chapters will be titled is to be decided. The DLC chapters will be posted here free as usual. Really excited to get a break so I can catch up on chapters. Even more excited to be able to start book 3 once the current story arc is finished. Warmly, Daniel --- Disclamer: This story is not a finished product and will be undergoing changes, sometimes significant changes, as the story develops. Think of it as an early access story where nothing is fully set in stone. If I change a part of the story that you really love, I'm sorry, but changing one part of the story will affect the other parts I try to avoid major changes, especially in older chapters, but for the newer ones there will probably be more fine tuning. As for anyone invested in the story who is not happy with the way the story is going, feel free to DM me so I can get feedback. I want to know how you guys feel about the story, what changes I can make, at what point in the story I may have lost you. But until I get specific feedback, I won't know what changes might need to be made. There are about 14 chapters left for Part 2 of Chimera, give or take. I don't have a time frame for when they will be up but know I am chipping away at the chapters as I can. Warm Regards, Daniel --- Cover art credit goes to Brosedesignz, who has an awesome selection of both premade and custom book covers at great prices on her website. She can also be found at thebookcoverdesigner.com, which is where I found my cover.
