《Arrogant Young Master becomes an Adventurer》10. Reunion -Lyonhall Arc

“Father! Mother!” shouted Jakari.
“JAKARIIIIIIIIIIIIII!” shouted his mother Kari as she ran forwards to hug her only son. His father soon joined in.
Jakari’s mother saw the low-wood and mid-wood ranked bands being proudly displayed on his shoulder. She had a toothy grin full of pride, “my son is a true genius! Being able to reach the mid-wood rank in 1 day!”
“Thank you mother,” smiled Jakari.
“Good work Jakari,” said his father. He still doesn’t want his son to be an adventurer but if his son truly wishes to be an adventurer, then as his father he had to support his choice no matter what.
Jakari’s smile quickly faded as he was beginning to suspect his mother of being the possible assailant! Jakari’s mother was extremely easy to provoke as she would instantly cripple you without any warning if you wrong her in any way! Even if it's something very minor, she would still cripple you. But something wasn’t adding up, even if his mother was the assailant, she was not a murderer so Jakari quickly rule her out as a potential suspect and his father was here to stop her from doing anything rash too.
Jakari’s father Jay was the complete opposite of his mother. If her mother was a hurricane of fury then his father would be the stillness of a vast ocean. It was his father who had prevented his mother from rampaging every human settlement everywhere they go and stopping her from crippling every person that wrongs her or her family.
Cold sweat flowed down Jakari’s neck as he realized he still needed to hide his 8 ugly wives from his mother!
“What’s wrong my little Jakari? Has the guild wrong you in any way!?” asked his mother.
“No!” denied Jakari as he changed the subject. “What are mother and father doing here? Is my younger sister with you?”
“Your mother has to make sure the guild is treating you right. If the guild does anything terrible to you, tell me right away so I can teach them all a lesson!” said his mother. “Your young sister is busy with her usual antics… but she did ask us to bring you this.”
A small floating cloud carrying a rainbow-looking flower on top of it was floating towards Jakari. His mother and father were shuddering in fear of this flower. They were too afraid of directly touching this flower because the poison within this flower was enough to kill a diamond-ranked adventurer.
Jakari fleetingly remembered his younger sister’s misguided words about being an adventurer. “adventurers give flowers to monsters!”
He took the rainbow-looking flower and the mini cloud dissipated. The deathly poison of the flower had no effect on Jakari; he was invincible to all poisons. One of his younger sister's hobbies was collecting flowers during their travels all over the continent. She was always giving him the best flowers that happens to be the most poisonous. She even made Jakari eat the flowers to showcase his love for her. He was the only member of the family that could do such a thing. It made her happy so Jakari had no problems eating random poisonous flowers. Jakari was about to put it in his pocket but it was already filled with copper coins.

His father eyed the overflowing copper coins from his pockets and added, “We are also here to finally tell you the reason why our family has to remain on the run from the authorities all these years.”
Kari grew pale as she was too afraid to tell her son the truth about her. “I will go over there, your father will tell you the reason.”
“It’s okay father and mother. Even if you never told me the reason, I will always love you both no matter what. Once again, I thank father and mother for raising me and letting me become an adventurer,” said Jakari in his most respectful tone.
Kari grew teary eyes and gave her son a hug before running away to leave the two of them alone.
Jay took a deep breath. “We are proud to be your parents, Jakari. Please do not hate your mother.”
“I will never!” affirmed Jakari.
“I’m sure you know how money works now right?” asked his father.
“Yes,” stated Jakari.
“Long ago, your mother was formerly a high-diamond ranked adventurer. Even though her earning potential was great, she was in insurmountable debt due to her reckless behaviors. She had destroyed 17 different guildhalls all because they had wronged her in some ways, crippled thousands of people who had provoked her in the wrong ways, and caused many collateral damages to her surroundings, destroying countless buildings, and some important things too. Even though she was a high-diamond ranked adventurer, it wasn’t enough to excuse her from all of her sins. Unfortunately, your mother took some very nasty shark loans that only further exacerbate her insurmountable debt. Even if you took every single last coin on this Lugel continent, it would not be enough to pay back 1% of her debt due to the interests it accumulated.”
“Mother should not need to worry! I, Jakari, as her son will resolve his mother's debt with my money!”
“We appreciate your earnestly Jakari but this problem only belongs to me and your mother. You will not bear any of our burdens. And because of her enormous impossible debt that can never be paid off, she was kicked out of the guild and placed on the bounty list; she has one of the highest bounty rewards for her head and anyone that can bring her head to them will not need to use any of the money to pay back her debt either. This makes her an extremely attractive target and caused many high-diamond ranked bounty hunters to go after us, leading our family to always be on the run.”
“I see… so that is why…”
“We are truly sorry Jakari,” cried his father as he went on his knees to hold on to Jakari. He wasn’t able to give Jakari a normal upbringing as Jakari cried a lot when he was a young kid wanting to live with others and make friends. His father always wished to give his children a happy normal life but instead, due to his and their mother’s selfishness, they were forced to live like fugitives the moment they were born. And that their parents didn’t want to give their only children up to adoption either.

“Father! Please get up. There is no need to cry over the past.” Jakari helped his father back on his feet.
“I promised you, father and mother, that when I get strong enough. I will make the world forgive to two of you and let you live in peace! I will become stronger than the bounty hunters and defeat them too!”
“Jakari…” smiled his father as he already knew his son was the strongest in the world but did not want to tell him that as that would break the dreams of his son on the journey of becoming the strongest adventurer if he knew he was already the strongest. “But please do not kill any of the bounty hunters. Sure they are after us but at the same time, they help bring down powerful criminals all over the continent. If you were to get rid of all the high-diamond ranked bounty hunters, the entire Lugel continent will suffer and crime will skyrocket everywhere.”
Jakari remained silent as it was hard to accept the fact that his parents would always remain on the run for the rest of their lives if his father forbade him from striking down all the bounty hunters.
Lastly, his father warned, “always remember that everyone is trash. You are far too precious and powerful for the likes of them.” He didn’t want anyone to take advantage of his son including himself and his mother but there probably wouldn’t be anyone capable of doing that anyway. His father could have taught Jakari in a much better way but he wasn’t exactly the best father to start with. The only possible way he thought of to help his son survive in this world was to see everyone else as trash. His wife Kari agreed with him and his wife was even less so of a capable mother. Jakari’s parents had their flaws but he loved them both very much.
“I will father.”
Soon after their heartfelt words with each other. The two reconcile and talk about happier times with Jakari’s mother re-joining them as they asked Jakari about his life as an adventurer. He told them his adventuring story but neglected to tell them about the part where he saved an ugly trash girl or the fact that he was married to 8 ugly trash already. Jakari did tell them that he had a special request from the guild and his parents grew wide-eyed as they knew that the assailant was their son!
Jakari’s father gnashed his teeth as his son had become a murderer already! Despite his repeated lessons of always avoiding trash and ignoring them. Meanwhile, Jakari’s mother believed those copper-ranked fools had it coming but she doesn’t want her son to be a murderer either. She was definitely going to help cover it up and make sure he will live a smooth life as an adventurer as that was his dream.
“Father, Mother, any ideas on where to find this powerful monster that killed those people? The trashes were saying some random necromancer did it.”
Jay and Kari looked at each other, their son was blissfully unaware of what he had done. Jay and Kari made several eye movements at each other before deciding to tell Jakari the truth.
“Jakari…” mumbled his mother. “The truth is…you were the one who killed them.”
“Impossible!” retorted Jakari but then the more he thought about it… the more it made sense. In his heart, he wanted to refuse to believe it because that would mean the end to his adventuring days and he was only an adventurer for only 1 day! “Those trash! They forced me to do it! I had no choice! They forced my hands! How was I supposed to know they couldn’t handle 0% of my power.”
“Don’t worry Jakari. We will help cover this up for you. Don’t kill any more random people okay?” comforted his mother. “The death of adventurers isn’t uncommon at all, it wouldn’t be unusual for adventurers to meet their ends in dungeons or fighting against monsters. It’s just that Lyonhall is supposed to be safe haven for new adventurers and well… we will cover it up. Won’t we dear?”
“Jakari you shouldn’t blame those trash for your mistake. It was ultimately your choice in the end so do your best to ignore those trash from now on. I guess we have no choice but to help our son cover it up as long as he knows not to do it ever again.”
“I’m sorry father. You’re right, I let those trash provoke me,” admitted Jakari.
“The lives of those copper-ranked adventurers are worthless to the guild anyways. If you hunt down a powerful evil necromancer, the guild would definitely overlook your murders,” beamed Kari with a face full of pride, it was seemingly like she had done something similar in the past.
His father frowned but power was the way of the world, after all, if his son Jakari could rectify his mistake and make the world a better place, it would be a worthy price to pay for those unfortunate copper ranks who had died.
“Jakari please let your mother see your guild ID card,” smiled Kari.
“Yes!” beamed Jakari as he handed over his guild ID card to his mother.
