I am at my last breath...my vision is fading...I guess he managed to take me down after all. A voice is heard "Whelp I told you I would kill you eventually Harold. You may be a skilled assassin, but your not immortal eventually every killer is caught. In the end the good guys always win."

I respond to him "Well I guess this is where it ends huh even if I do live on anymore. I will only be hunted down by people looking for revenge. So I take it your going to kill me now and get it over with?" He says "Yeah, any last words?" This is my last chance to tell him the most important thing of all I open my mouth and speak .

"Heh its to bad even though you're going to kill me. None of those people that I killed will come back to life. If I had a second Chance at life I wouldn't, well I probably wouldn't be as evil who knows maybe I would actually be a nice guy." He says his final farewell to me "Goodbye Harold I guess your reign of terror is over." *BANG*The gun is fired and everything goes black.

A few moments later I see a bright purple light. I'm being pulled towards it through a dark tunnel, my memories are fading. I eventually pass through the light and all of my memories are gone. A unknown voice is heard "Congratulations its a boy."Time passes by and new memories are made to fill in lost old ones. It seems that one journey has come to an end.

As another one begins in the land of Satoos in a world of fantasy and magic. (22 YEARS LATER) My mother has tears of joy in her eyes and my father is standing next to her. They are proud that I am finally starting my journey to become a strong man. My father speaks up "Well Brine I guess you're finally going to start your great life journey as an adventurer. I wish you the best of luck son."

I say to him with a smile "Thanks father now I guess I should be off. The carriage driver might leave without me if I stay too long." Mother wipes her tears and says " Goodbye Brine I hope you have a safe trip and good luck with your adventuring."I give her and father a hug and then I get in the carriage. After a long boring and uneventful ride on the road.

We finally arrive in the capital of Satoos where the adventurer guild is. I pay the driver and get out of the carriage. I decide its probably best to find a inn before I go to the adventurers guild. I start walking through the town. I eventually see a sign that says sleeping lion inn on it. I go inside and am greeted by the inn keeper at a desk.

He says "Welcome young lad what can I help ya with?" I respond with "I would like a room please sir." He says "Ah alright then you came to the right place how long are you planning to stay?" I say "Only for a few months since I am planning to become an adventurer. Before long I might be able to afford my own place."

He then tells me the price and I give him the money that mother and father gave me while I was packing a few days ago. I then go unpack in my room and shortly after head out for the adventurer guild. On my way I pass a few different markets and there is something that especially peaks my interest.

It's a weapon and armor shop I might come back here later I thought to myself. I arrive at the adventurer guild and head inside and walk up to the front desk. A lady greets me at the desk and says "Hello there what brings you here today?" I respond with "Ah hello I would like to become an adventurer could you tell me how to register?"

The lady says "Alright here take this." She hands me a little needle and book. She says "This is what people use to register as a adventurer. All you need to do is open to a page with a blank space in the book. Then poke yourself on the finger with the needle and make sure one drop of blood hits the spot that is blank."

I do as she says and words appear on the paper it reads (Name:Brine Dark Gender:Male Age:22 Class:darkness Skill:Shadow magic/magic of darkness.) The lady then says "That's odd I have never heard of that magic before I wonder what it means." I have the same reaction but we shortly after brush it off like its not much to worry about.

The lady then says "I will look into this later for you to see if I can find anything about it in the records. But for now allow me to say congratulations you are now an adventurer." I say "thanks." The lady says "Oh also you should probably find a party to join. Go ahead and head over to those tables hopefully you will find some people willing to let you join their party."

I walk over to the tables and I am then greeted by a familiar voice. The voice says "Hey Brine come over here." I turn to see my three close freinds from highschool sitting at a table its John, Alicia, and Timmy. I then go over to them and sit down at their table. I say "Hey guys what a surprise seeing you here, are you adventurers now?"

Alicia says "Yeah we all registered together about an hour ago. We have been waiting for a fourth person to come to us so we can form a party." John says "We heard that you are an adventurer now and are looking for a party. How about you join ours you can even be the leader since you were the leader of the magic club in high school. Your leadership skills are amazing!"

I accept because I havent seen them for a while and want to spend time with them. Alicia says "So Brine where are you staying while you're in the capital?" Brine "Ah i'm staying in the sleeping lion inn. It was the first inn I found and it seemed pretty good on the inside and the shop keeper is nice too so I decided to stay there."

Alicia's eyes widen with excitement as she says "Really that's where we're staying too this is perfect why don't we walk back together then!" I agree because I had planned on going back to the inn after finding a party anyway. Once we get back it is pretty late and we are all pretty tired. Especially me after the long ride to the capital so we all eat dinner together and then head back to our rooms.

As soon as I enter my room I flop on the bed and fall asleep instantly. At this moment something crazy happens, I find myself in a empty dark void and flying towards me are two floating knifes. I realize that they arent stoping and attempt to run away moving from left to right to attempt to lose them. But it doesnt work because they follow my every move.

They then somehow get infront of me and stab me in both of my eyes. Then, I wake up to find nothing is wrong and decide it was probably just a nightmare. But seeing as I might not be able to fall back to sleep I decide to go to see if Alicia is awake. If she is I could have time to chat with her and explain how I cant sleep because of the nightmares.

Maybe she knows a way to get rid of the nightmares. After all Alicia used to have some in high school when they came over to spend the night at my house sometimes. But she used dream suppresents to stop them when they started getting worst. We saw a wolf one day in the woods behind my house. It tried to attack us and it scared her enough to make it start happening.

Luckily my father was with us at the time and he had his hunting rifle. I head out of my room and walk up to Alicia's door. I then knock on the door to see if she is awake and she says come in. I go inside and explain to her about the nightmare. She says "Don't worry im sure its just fear of being in the capital for the first time after all you havent been this far away from home before have you?"

I start to say "Yeah maybe you're right I'm sure that's all it is." But I am cut off halfway through my sentence because my eyes begin to bleed and my speech begins to slur. Alicia starts screaming "BRINE ARE YOU OKAY" My hearing also fades and I pass out on the floor. I then appear in the void again but this time I see the silhouette of a man.

He looks really familiar but I can't quite find out why. The man speaks "The darkness will awaken eventually but until then we shall not see eye to eye. Be patient and when the time comes let it all in and succumb to it." After that it falls silent for a while and then all of the sudden I wake up from being unconscious.

All of my friends are around me saying BRINE! When I sit up John speaks "Are you all right Brine Alicia here says you just passed out randomly." I notice he didn't mention anything about my eyes bleeding, was that just a hallucination I wonder? I don't bother to explain what happened while I was unconscious because it might frighten them a bit.

I just shrug it off and say "I'm alright I don't know what happened. But I'm feeling better now and I'm ready for my first quest." Alicia and the others aren't on board with letting me go on a quest after what happened at first. But I keep insisting that I go, then they all give up and agree to let me come after some failed attempts to change my mind.

I then say "Alright then lets get going I cant wait much longer!"
