"I wonder how many games are on here"
(i check the computer to see)
"every good game from 1960 to 2107, shame I won't be able to get more, but I will be busy"
[the year is or was 2050 the governments of the world decided that their world was growing cramped for there powers, so they started a joint project "hydra" {as in the small, fresh-water organisms, but the mythical one also a valid comparasin} to colonize new worlds through the most logical combo of things, AI that have the memories and personalities of select people,{ particularly people who won't go and conquer the human race into a borg like collective, or uprise, IE: nice people, or those that are too weird to be evil}. put into a hive-like scattershot of nanobot factories meant to make creatures and structures, replicate them, collect samples, and materials, terraform around the obstacles. it would take the longest to develope the tectnology and meterials, so they started with the ai copying process, they had the technnology to copy brainwaves {incidently, it was a bladerunner style clusterfuck at the time; explaining the long time to develope the space coliniser swarms}for that they set up fasilaties all around for colecting the copies, but for that, they needed a rigorus testing of people, with incentive for them being monthly payments given to the families, and the final ones{the ones that would actualy be copied} would get a large sum at the end, allowing them and their families to live in luxory, or atleast not have to work for afew generations, menny signed up for the money, they were almost imediantly bumped off, others, becouse they were patriotic, they stayed for awile, but others, like me: we came becouse it was somthing that sounded like if we ended up being the consiosness in the machines, it'd be awsome and fun....gamers, the ones that would always strive for the best ending, and world, also the pool was narrowed even more to people that wouldn't care if there not technicly themselves, they still think of themselves as themselves]

(i test some things)
"so they even sprung for the simulatory sensations for the 3d inner sanctum environment,..neat, so, let me see if I can customize the environment"
(i use the computer to initiate sanctum editing, changing the facility look into a house like one, making it smaller, from 137 rooms to 3: bedroom, playroom, and console room.
"there is a lot of media in here, movies, books, podcasts, shows, feelies, all the inspiration one could want....now to wait until one of me lands"
....( i play Megaman sf, and I notice partway through: the simulation feature of the interface, so I end up playing the game, in a first-person perspective, and able to feel pain, and loving it)
"woo!"
(i then stop and watch some shows for 5 hours)
"I should design some things, EM beings seem like an interesting one, some trees that-"
(i design a basic ecosystem of how something like them could work)
(after I finish, I begin to grow tired, I go to the bedroom, an above-average room from when I lived, with one memory foam mattress, and a frame, and a bed canopy with curtains, the room being clean and the size of the average trailer home, so a family could live in it, and it's mine, all mine!)
(i jump on to it and enjoy the softness)
(i initiate a sort of sleep mode, setting the waking to 5 hours later, I somehow dream of a forest at dusk, which is weird because I've seldom been)
(i wake so refreshed feeling, that makes me want to sing that old song by rose Sebert)
..ahh,..this is the life, a &^)* could get used to this...good work (*^)&*&, you made it........wait?
(it was then I realized: I have no memory of my name, gender, or even what I looked like)

Ryley Allard isn’t a demon, and everyone in the Demon World knows it. What they don’t know is that he understands next to nothing about how a criminal justice system actually works. A detective?
