Liontari forest
The convoy was moving forward at full speed,
The around 400 meters, Arthemor could see a curve in the road that led towards the right
He thought nothing of it and proceeded just as the same,
The carriage driver, knowing these routes full well opened a small window behind his seat and said "Lady Hilda, we will soon be making a sharp turn at a curve a head, please embrace"
"Understood. Thank you." responded Lady Hilda
In but a moment, the convoy reached curve and they had to drastically reduced their speed to take a turn.
Lord Arthemor at the head of the convoy was the first to take the turn; soon the middle section of the convoy which lady Hilda was situated in passed. then.........
*TWANG**HISSS*
Hundreds of hissing noises produced from bolts were heard from all around,
As soon as the noise from the bolts stopped, many *THUD* sounds were heard.
Around 20 lifeless bodies of knights had hit the ground. Each knight had around 15 bolts in their bodies, their armour did very little to protect them against these knight killers.
Author: it is said that in the past, crossbows were the reasons why knights were no longer a thing anymore for an army. a bolt could easily kill them.
"WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!!!" howled a knight in the middle of the convoy
Arthemor, looking around for the enemy spotted them well hidden in the trees and bushes,
Arthemor shouted "SHIELD FORMATION!"
When the knights heard this, they got off their horses and banded their shields together as they retreated towards the centre of the convoy. At the same time, one of the knights used an artifact to signal for help.
"Hurry up, what is taking so long?" shouted Arthemor at the knight
The confused knight stopped attempting to activate the artifact and said "My lord! The enemy seems to have set a barrier around us. It does not allow me to send any distress signal."

"Fuck." shouted Arthemor
4 minutes prior
*CREAK*
The carriage came to a stop
Lady Hilda who was noticed that they came to a stop. she heard someone shout that they were under attack,
she opened the carriage window to the driver's seat and asked "What's the situation?"
The driver did not respond.
Lady Hilda touched the man on the shoulder and the man fell off the carriage, revealing around 15 bolts in his body.
Dominic who at this point was still seated in his mother's carriage said "Mother, please use the space scroll to go back to the Manor."
"NO! I'm not leaving without your father," responded Lady Hilda.
Dominic gritted his teeth and shouted "Mother! now is not the time for this. if you stay, you will only get in fathers' way. He cannot protect you in this situation."
Tears fell off Lady Hilda's eyes as she realised what her son was talking about.
Dominic used his space ring to bring out his space scroll as his mother did the same.
Dominic looked into his mother's eyes and said "We just have to trust dad will be alright. Everything will be ok."
His mother nodded and they both activated their scrolls.
Nothing. Nothing happened,
"Fuck! they blocked off all space travel. We have to escape with the horses." shouted Dominic.
He used his space ring and brought out a beautiful sword. Elegantly designed and looked very sharp.
He held his mother's hand and said "Stay here, I'll go get us two horses."
"NO! Please don't go" begged lady Hilda as she held her sons' hand, stopping him.
"Mother, I know you are scared but know that if we stay here, we will surely die. We have to escape." told Dominic as he freed his hand from her grasp.
The sound of swords clashing outside was heard and as soon as Dominic opened the carriage door, an assassin tried to cut him down.

Dominic who although was not a skilled swordsman. Was a noble with many protective charms and artifacts,
As soon as the assassin wanted to land his sword downwards on Dominics shoulder, Dominic used his sword to block the attack by holding his sword above his head with both hands.
Dominic was struggling to hold the sword above himself and yet.....and yet something was off. Dominic was smiling.
The assassin saw this and asked "What's so funny you brat?"
Dominic replied with "Nothing, just looking at a dead man."
Dominics necklace shone with a Firey red glow and spitted out a fire ball. The assassin who had both his hands above, took the full blow of the fire ball to his chest, The assassin screamed in pain as his body was slowly burning to a crisp.
The petty Dominic went forward to the burnt corpse and stepped hard on his face "That was for picking a fight with me."
Dominic activated an area of effect telepathy skill and erased himself from the assassins' visions.
The assassins were no match on a one-on-one fight with a Arthemor silver knight but they were slowly overwhelmed by their numbers.
Dominic easily passed the assassins and ran towards the nearest horses but.....
*Thud* *thud* *thud* *thud*
All the knights around the carriage fell. Little could the knights do when overpowered by so many experts.
what can a lion do when attacked by a hundred thousand ants?
An assassin shouted "Bring the woman and the boy."
When Dominic heard this,....BLOOD, pure rage and hate filled his field of vision.
Dominic was a rank 3 Necromancer. Needless to say, he was going to put it to good use.
He raised his hand and chanted another area of effect magic on the dead bodies of assassins and knights.
His necromancy skill activated but only 11 assassins got up assassins got up. The risen assassins went close to their comrades and waited.
At the same time, Dominic used his Telekinesis skill and removed the bolts from the chest of the knights and slowly moved them on the ground right next to the assassins who were about to reach the carriage.
*WHOOSH*
Around 24 assassins fell, from the sudden surprise attack from ..... from the ground?
"How is this possible? who attacked us?" asked an assassin.
They turned around with their backs facing the carriage. looking in the distance who could the attack have come from. They all felt a killing intent but there was no one in their line of sight.
At the same time, the Zombie assassins got mixed in the group without them knowing.
*STAB* *STAB* *STAB*
11 assassins were pierced by their own comrades.
*THUD*
Their bodies fell to the ground
Dominic was multi-tasking and it was taking it was extremely difficult to control so many things in the battle field. Even though the zombies could fight on their own, they still had to be given targets and the telekinetic attack were separate items that he needed to control individually but was controlling them at all at once.
More zombies got up. Dominic used more than half of his mana summon the zombies.
The assassins had a hard time dealing with them since all of their attacks were futile.
"Shit! there is a necromancer on their side. where is he?" asked an assassin
*THUD*
Before anyone could respond, the assassin who asked that question fell to the ground with a bolt stuck in the back of his skull.
The tables had turned for the attackers of the midsection of the convoy. It was now them who were about to perish.

The name's Eileen, I'm a scraprat, that means my job is to track down all those rotten hulks people leave all over the cosmos. Maybe even sometimes the crew with them. As for the ship? She's the Reliance, one-time Dreadnought class warship, now, floating scrapyard. Apparently, somebody decided after all these years she's worth something, so let's try to keep her from being used to repay my debts so I can keep repaying, no ship, no job, no little luxuries like air, or water. No mean feat when your fees are due to go to Tyr, he makes most loan sharks seem like goldfish, and will take payment by the installment plan. (I like all my installments, especially ones like kidneys, and tech replacements are pricey.) So let's make a to do list 1. fix ship 2. pay off the "loans". 3. Try not to get hunted down for the technology my ship planted in me without telling me............. Well that's new.
8 207Lost Things
"In this disordered continent, where everyone seeks to be the heroes of their own tales, there are still some rooms for smaller stories to breathe." "Past, present, and future—keep your eyes open, and see where they lead you to." This story follows three housemates’ lives: Carson Calding, Virgil Barion, and John Salore—onto their adventures of finding Carson’s past, Virgil’s present, and John’s future. Despite their clashing backgrounds and circumstances that forced them together, they’re definitely going to find the things they had lost, for sure. Each entire chapter will be updated biweekly. There'll be three smaller parts per each chapter. Note that this story was written to be an interactive one, with polls at the end of each parts deciding on what happens next. Though, the polls for this story won't be available on Royal Road updates. (I also upload this in Arcane Odyssey forum, and it's currently the only place where I open the polls and use the poll results from.)
