《Grand Defender》Chapter 4

After managing to make another campfire and roasting the six fish I captured, I ate my fishy lunch.
I looked up to the sky, it was about 1pm.
Prime time to test out my Classes.
I grabbed my [Stone Spear] and walked deeper into the forest after putting out the campfire.
The sun barely managed to break through the leaves, but I saw this as a good thing since it was around 30° and I really needed some shade.
As I went farther, I spotted a group of Iguanas.
They were much larger than the iguanas I normally saw when going to the beach.
“Why does every animal have to be bigger here...” I muttered under my breath, this notifying the iguanas of my presence.
They stared at me as if I were naked.
Oh wait, I am naked.
The biggest iguana, which had a powerful orange crest running all through its spine and a tail twice the size of myself, took a step forward, and started furiously bobbing its head up and down.
The other four started doing the same, all now bobbing their heads.
I readied my [Stone Spear], although grabbing it more like a sword than a spear.
As the group approached, I corrected my stance and swung at one of the smaller iguanas.
I missed, but the [Alpha] didn’t.
A sharp and itching pain enveloped a thin but long area in my back, as the [Alpha] whipped me with their tail, letting out a wind cutting sound.
That hurts! It stings too!
I leapt back to where the reptiles wouldn’t reach me and checked my back with my left hand, which now had some blood from where the [Alpha] struck.
I started getting a little lightheaded, never once in my life had I ever actually lost blood in a fight, especially not with this much pain!

I haven’t been in almost any fight though…
Running off to the side, I swiped my [Stone Spear] horizontally.
Striking one of the iguanas across the face, killing it gruesomely but instantly.
Another one tried to whip me, but I managed to dodge its strike and stabbed it vertically in the head.
Two down, three left to go.
A small rock was lying nearby, which I quickly grabbed and used [Geomancer] on to make it sharper.
I threw the sharpened stone at one of the remaining three, the stone hitting its tail and severing it.
The tail started wiggling around crazilly, distracting everyone present, but I regained my focus faster than my enemies did.
Seeing this opening, I slashed the two remaining smaller iguanas with a single heavy strike, leaving only the [Alpha].
As the [Alpha] recovered from its distraction, tail whips started being thrown left and right.
With no way to get closer to the [Alpha], I separated myself from the iguana, leaving a distance of about 20 meters between us.
I grabbed a handful of dirt, ran to the iguanas location, and then threw it into the creature’s eyes.
The reptile blinked rapidly to get the dirt off, but it couldn't get it off in time.
My [Stone Spear] pierced halfway through the [Alpha]’s torso, paralyzing it.
No more tail whips!
The reptile painfully hissed at me, a warning to get me to stay away, but it was useless.
My [Stone Spear], now caked in blood, saw its life come to an end.
Congratulations! You have earned 3 levels in both [Geomancer] and [Spearman]].
All Stats+30
Congratulations! [Geomancer] has reached level 5.
You can now choose between 5 Class Perks, only one can be chosen.
This decision will affect future options.
[Stone Skin]
Tier I
Your skin will be tougher and harder to pierce, while still retaining elasticity.

[Mineral Kineticism]
Tier I
Allows you to freely move minerals in every direction, like psychokinesis.
[Mineral Mass Alteration]
Tier I
Allows you to freely change the weight of minerals without changing their volume.
[Mineral Transmutation]
Tier I
Allows you to change one mineral type to another at will.
[Mineral Creation]
Tier I
Allows you to create a mineral body in exchange of some calories.
[Stone Skin] would be nice, since stronger skin means taking less damage, and damage means pain.
[Mineral Gravitation] Would let me move rocks around at will when fighting, but keeping track of them would
be a pain.
[Mineral Mass Alteration] seems combat oriented, since I could increase the weight of my [Stone Spear] right before a blow or throw a small pebble and then change its weight before it hits a target.
[Mineral Transmutation] sounds more in line with [Mason], it would probably turn [Geomancer] into a Magic Crafting Class or something.
[Mineral Creation] Also seems more in line with [Mason], I would be able to get rocks whenever I needed them.
Such a difficult choice…
“Mineral Kineticism”
You have chosen a Class Perk!
[Mineral Kineticism]
Tier I
Allows you to freely move minerals in every direction, like psychokinesis.
Personal Perk [Monster Slayer] has tiered up!

Dragonfall: Enchantment
Sebastian only wanted one thing in life. A nice safe profession that let him stay behind the town's walls. His mother had other ideas, however. Sebastian's one solitary hope was that he possessed magic, and would be accepted into the Mage's Guild as a novice. Sometimes life gives you what you wish for, but in a way you never saw coming.

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.
