《TeamFortress2's New Addition》Chapter Sixty-Four

It was like a wave of colors danced in your vision. You could feel yourself floating... or being jerked around. Which one was it? It was like you were in a drugged state, reminding you of how you felt while you were getting your wisdom teeth removed. You saw flashes of yellow and blue that looked like building blocks and swerves and hills. It was mesmerizing.
It was when your eyes opened to a harsh light that you left that state. You tried your best not to groan and remember what happened. You let your eyes adjust to the light and was met by blue walls... fuck. You remembered. Shit! You remembered. This was not good at all. You did your best to appear calm as you looked around the room. You were in a smaller, confined place with supplies all around you. It kind of reminded you of the inside of the Training Facility... but smaller like a closet. You had ropes around your stomach and the back of the chair as well and some tying your arms down onto the armrests. You tried moving your legs in your dazed state, but they were tied to the chair legs as well.
You didn't know how long you were there, struggling to stay awake.
"Oh good. You're conscious," you saw the BLU Spy materialize in front of you. I have to play this as calmly as possible. I don't know what they want.
"I guess so," you gave a weak laugh, throwing the BLU Spy off guard. Good. Get to their weak points. He tugged on his suit and collected himself. "So what am I here for?"
"Izn't it obvious?" You gave him a condescending look.
"No. Not really. I did just get knocked out." The Spy rolled his eyes.
"Look around 'ou. 'Ou're in an interrogation room."
"That's what this is? It looks like a closet." Spy scoffed and pointed a finger at you-
Beep!
"Spy!" You heard your voice from an intercom above you. You saw a slight, but noticeable change in the BLU Spy's eyes.
"Uh- erhm," he adjusted his tie. "Yes?"
"Why are you letting her distract you?" The tone of the BLU Strategist was... off putting. You watched the Spy pull slightly on his jacket, looking annoyed. What?
"Why do 'ou 'ave an opinion on my turn for ze interrogation?"
"Because you're wasting precious time? It's been hours! Surely the RED team knows where to look for her by now!" Spy rolled his eyes. "Need I remind you-?"
"It doezn't matter! Now go do whatever it is 'ou do. I have more important matterz to attend to." He tugged on his tie, looking pomptus as ever. He peered at you, smirking. You weren't sure whether to be nervous or annoyed. With another beep, the BLU Strategist's voice disappeared. "Now," the Spy struck a cigarette. "Where were we?" I can't let them know how I feel.
"I believe we were talking about this closet you put me in," you returned the smirk, putting him off guard. You laughed as lightly as you could while watching the surprise form on his face ever so slightly. You tugged against your restraints. "Anyway, what did you want from me again?" The Spy cleared his throat. Keep it light and maybe they'll just let me go.
"'Ou fought as though 'ou knew our weaknesses personally. Seeing as our Strategist cannot do zat, we want to know 'our secrets. Any cooperation will let 'ou go back to 'our base."

"Hm, and if I don't cooperate?" You peered up at him with steady eyes. It isn't fair for them to break the rules... I think. Surely this is a rule. I can't let them know anything. It would give them an unfair advantage and I'd lose again. No way in hell I'm letting that happen again. My team put in too much work for- You yelped, snapping out of your thoughts as the Spy gave you a cigarette burn on your arm.
"Zat will happen." He put it plainly as he relit and put the cigarette to his lips.
"And torturing me will get me to talk? I'd rather you kill me so I can respawn." His lips curled into a smile.
"Zat iz where 'ou are wrong. 'Our chip iz out of range. To put it simply," he let the smoke out, "'Ou are in trouble if 'ou don't talk." You kept your eyes from widening by forcefully narrowing them.
"How would I know you're being honest here?" He chuckled.
"It'z simple. 'Ou don't, but do 'ou want to test zat?" Your silence made him laugh. Surely you weren't screwed, right? You could get out of this? "Of course 'ou don't. Who would? Now tell me," he moved in close to you, "What do 'ou know?"
"I'd rather die," you spat at him. Did you really want to die over this? For all you know, it could be in your contract, but it didn't matter, almost. You didn't want to betray your teammates. They won't kill me. They need my information, but it'll hurt. I just need to last until my teammates rescue me... if they're even coming. He pulled away, wiping his cheek.
"If zat'z how 'ou want it, fine." He took out his butterfly knife and flicked it open, advancing towards you. With a swift movement, he took it and slashed at your thigh, causing you to bite your tongue, close your eyes, and pull against the restraints. The cut burned with pain, but it didn't go down when you thought it should have. You peeked open to see that he had left the knife in your thigh, and there was nothing you could do to get it out.
"Mother fucker!" You hissed, forcing yourself to not scream.
"Hm, yes. I thought 'ou'd say somzing like zat." He reached down and slowly took the knife out in an excruciating way. You shook, taking a deep breath. Your first actual wound, and it wasn't even from a battle. The knife, now held up to your throat, was dripping in your blood. The edge was gently yet firmly placed against your carotid artery. If the Spy pushed down enough... you'd be fucked. "Care to elaborate?" You sucked in air through your teeth.
"Not to you." He groaned and leaned back, mumbling.
"...Take you... for this?"
"What?" He stopped talking to himself and looked down at you, taking the knife away.
"Not to me 'ou say? Well, I suppose I should get my so-called friends." With an evil smirk, he left the room. Am I going to have to survive all ten of them? You could feel the blood soaking the surrounding area of your pants.
You sat there, assuming they were contemplating who would go in next. It was a while of you struggling before the door opened again.
"Howdy, darlin'," you heard a slightly familiar voice. The BLU Engineer sauntered in, looking "mighty proud" of the state you were in for him. He held a sharp-looking wrench in his hands. "Ah'm surprised he didn't rough ya up anymore. Oh well. More for me Ah suppose."

"Yeah right," you struggled more, your brain running a million miles a minute trying to figure out what to do. Once you could feel yourself wear out, you stopped. Brute strength can't get me anywhere against these ropes.
"Aw what's the problem? Tired?" He taunted you, gritting his teeth.
"Not as tired as you were of getting killed in the last battle by my plan. Wasn't that fun?"
"You might want to stop talkin' if ya want to keep yer tongue."
"Bite me, Engie." With a sickening sound, the edge of the BLU Engineer's wrench was lodged right above your kneecap. You stomped through the pain with your other foot, trying again not to scream. You wouldn't give them the satisfaction. He chuckled at your actions.
"Feel like talkin' yet?" He grabbed the wrench and gingerly twisted it.
"Aeerrgg, no!" The pain caused your thigh to cramp, aggravating the wound the Spy had given you. "Never you, you fucking minion! I saw how you acted to the Strategist! You're a coward!"
"Like you'd know what that is!" With a grunt of anger, he ripped the wrench out of your knee. You felt something happen to your kneecap, but you didn't want to look. Instead, you bit your tongue hard enough to bleed, stomping your other foot again to do something, anything! You felt bad emotionally for outing the Engineer like that to potentially whoever was hearing him, but why the fuck should you care? "You're a waste of mah time. I'd tell ya ta git, but you won't be doin' that anytime soon, will ya?"
"Oh sure, inflate your ego after hurting a defenseless person!"
"Now this isn't over!" With a scowl, he left, slamming the door behind him.
The BLU Scout almost immediately followed in after him.
"Now normally I wouldn't feel, uh, good, about doin' dis, but if it means I get paid more. What can I say?" He shrugged.
"So what are you going to do?" You gasped, trying to ignore the pain in your leg.
"Well, if I use my bat, I'd kill ya. Gun? Kill ya. So the betta you gave me an idea." He gently grabbed your hand... and started bending your fingers back. Oh fuck oh shit oh fuck oh shit! "Now, before I do dis. Got anythin' to say?"
"Do it you little bitch. I bet you're not even strong en-" you felt a cry in your throat as you felt your fingers break at the knuckles. You didn't even want to look at them. You had the urge to shake your hand, but you were grateful you couldn't. The Scout was already walking towards the door with his hands behind his head.
"Welp. Did all I could do dere."
After what felt like an excruciating long time, the door burst open
.
"Strategist!" Medic burst through the door, rushing over to you. Relief washed over you.
"Medic!" You cried, trying to reach him.
"Ve haff been looking everyvhere for jou!"
"I'm so glad you're here!" You felt a tear roll down your cheek. You couldn't help but smile as the man in red started... tightening your restraints?
"Zhis is no good! Jou can't get out of zhese. Haha. Zhat vould be terrible!" What?
"SPY!" You roared, headbutting the BLU Spy tightening the restraints on your arms. The facade faded revealing a smirking Spy.
"'Ou know. If 'ou talk, we can let 'ou back to zem. Seeing as 'ou care so much," he snorted, turning to leave. He paused in the doorframe.
"Go fuck yourself." Without even looking, he shrugged and left.
From there, the BLU Soldier came in to senselessly beat you with a shovel. He didn't even ask a question and had to be dragged out by the BLU Demoman to keep from killing you.
Broken and bruised, the BLU Heavy came in and wouldn't look at you.
"Heavy cannot do zhis," he admitted, running his hand down his face. You spat a tooth out at him.
"What? Can't hurt a mercenary?" You taunted him.
"You are no mercenary. You are just girl. Zhis is wrong."
Beep!
"Heavy. We sent you in there to do something. I expect something from you," the BLU Strategist said over the intercom. With a heavy sigh, Heavy walked behind you and grabbed your necklace. Slowly and tantalizingly, he pulled back and started to choke you. You quickly turned blue, but the moment you started gasping for air, he stopped.
"Heavy is done here," he announced and left.
When the BLU Demoman came in for the second time, he smashed your good arm with an empty bottle, embedding glass shards into your arm.
The BLU Sniper couldn't bare to look at you and just left, muttering something about he'd rather face the other you than to hurt you and how it wasn't professional.
It was when the BLU Pyro came in that you were afraid. Not just nervous, but genuinely scared. All you heard was the heavy breathing before he unleashed the flamethrower on your right side. You unleashed a scream so unholy that it only made the Pyro giggle. You struggled against the newly-tightened restraints, crying and almost throwing up from the pain itself. The flames dancing on your arm reached high up into the sky. Once your hand, arm, and face was thoroughly charred, the BLU Sniper rushed in with a fire extinguisher and put you out. He escorted the BLU Pyro out, limping a little.
"Vell aren't jou a sigh for sore eyez, heh," you used your good eye to look at the BLU Medic.
"Uh huh?" You were thankful you could still talk, glaring at him.
"Vell, I'm afraid it iz mein turn."
"It doesn't have to be."
"No, but it doez!"
"Why?"
"Zhat I cannot tell jou. Zhe Strategist, is, ehh..." He stopped himself from continuing. He lifted a hand up and waved it, turning around to leave. "Anyway, it looks as zhough zhere is nothzing I can do to jou, so until ve meet again. Hopefully in better condition anyvay."
Then there you were, left alone in a room. You were fading in and out of consciousness, trying to stay awake but the pain was too much.
SLAM!
"Strategist!" A German accent was heard.
"NO!" You wailed, looking to see it was the BLU Spy again. It had to be. "NO! I can't fall for that again. I just... can't. Please, just kill me already..." You started to break down. The floor below you is covered in your own blood and pieces of you. The sight made you want to throw up.
"Mein Gott!" You saw the man in red start to untie your restraints. Probably just to tie them again. Don't let him fool you. Once you were free, you lept for it. Of course, you couldn't move due to the pain and slumped onto the ground, close to passing out. Your whole body was in shambles, you could barely feel your burnt side and you couldn't move anything. It was just hot and painful. "Scheisse!"
It was when he picked you up bridal style and started running that you knew it was the real him. The relief that washed over you made you cry, streams of tears rushing down your cheeks. It was him. After all of this it's him! Your head was in the bend of his elbow, supporting you as he ran through the halls, knowing exactly where he was going.
"Shhh, shhh. It'll be alright (Y/n). I've got jou." You could feel his chest rise and fall with each heavy breath as he ran, comforted by his words. You turned your head to watch as noises got louder.
You saw Heavy with Sasha threatening the entire BLU team, asking where you were.
"Heavy! I've got her!" You saw him look over, and his face filled with primal rage.
"ALL OF YOU ARE DEAD!" He started reving up Sasha.
"Heavy, no! Ve haff to go now!" He grumbled something and turned to run with you and Medic.
"NEXT TIME WE FIGHT, I will END YOU!" All three of you exited the BLU base and started heading towards the vehicles, the others were still standing around. When their eyes reached you, you were met with different reactions.
Sodleir had to keep Demo from running in there with his pipe bombs, Spy looked disgusted, Engie scowled, Sniper threw up, Scout couldn't seem to bare to look at you, and Pyro seemed more confused than anything.
"Quick! Ve haff to get her to zhe base!" Medic snapped everyone out of it as they scrambled to their places. Medic handed you to Heavy and jumped into the truck, taking you from him. He held you close to him as if you might disappear.
"Doc! Where's your y'know, med stuff?" Scout seemed to start freaking out the more he looked at you.
"M-Medic..." you started, sounding weaker and weaker.
"Vhat? No! Jou cannot exert any more energy right now!" Medic tried to shush you, but you started to feel very heavy.
"I'm so tired..." You closed your eyes.
"No! Strategist!"
"I'm sorry..."
"(Y/n)!"
But you were gone.

8 237Shrike
He wants to play the latest and greatest VRMMORPG game, but he can't muster up the cash for the fancy new proprietary hardware and membership license. After months of saving up cash and arduous work, he has built a behemoth of a machine relying almost entirely on seedy old technology and a DIY guide by some dude named "Jimmy Bob." This is the story of his entry into the game. This is also a story of intrigue, exploration, introspection, batshit crazy game design, and unintended but entirely predictable consequences. This is G.C.O. Undergoing a total re-write, mostly because I think things were too rushed rather than any content or direction changes. If you are one of the few who tried Shrike when it was briefly updating, consider giving it another shot. Of no relation to either The Great Crusade or the recent (in 2017 lol) Shrike book for Warhammer by Games Workshop. All similarities in these cases are superficial; please don't sue me. Feedback welcome and encouraged, never be afraid to review or comment. HQ/Kindle-Grade cover art. Book Cover 2.0: "From the Dark"
