《TeamFortress2's New Addition》Chapter Three

You made it into the gym with a minute of time left to spare. As the school was "new," they didn't have locker rooms, so you didn't have to worry about changing into gym clothes, but you were shorts on Gym days anyway. Yet, the gym was smaller than most normal gyms, the floor was still bare concrete, because the builders couldn't put the wooden flooring in on time was found in most school gyms. There were no bleachers either. These conditions caused for the sports teams at your school to only be able to play games at other schools, but not that you ever cared, you weren't much of an athletic person.
Using your extra time, you put your bag down and walked over to your group of crazy girl-friends. It consisted of, Sam, the motherly super senior, Kathryn, the loud "normal" one, Jamie, the little sister both in height and personality, Danielle, Jamie's practically older sister, and Tiana, the "crazy" one. Other than Sam, you were all regular seniors, but other than gym, you barely saw them throughout the day due to your schedules. Tiana was yelling at Kathryn, teasing her like she normally does.
"Wow, Kathryn!" Tiana scoffed in a light-hearted way.
"I'm sorry! Geez Tiana," Kathryn whined while the rest of the group giggled."What?" You butted in, already smiling at their antics.
"Well," Tiana started, in a silly mock-motherly tone. "This young girl right here thought it would be a clever idea to step on my toe with her big foot!" It was clear Tiana didn't really care, she just wanted to make a fuss.
"I said I was sorry!" Kathryn whined again, starting to get a little annoyed not realizing once again how Tiana was only teasing. She brushed some of her hair out of her eyes.
"Kathryn, Tiana only teasing you!" You said, shaking your head a bit at the two. Kathryn turned red from embarrassment.
"Well she shouldn't do that!" Kathryn sputtered out as the group chuckled at her, but Sam took on her more serious tone.
"Guys, do you know who those two guys are over by Coach CC?" She asked, nodding over to their coach. You turned around a once again, felt a little bit confused. Who's keeping it a secret that we had visitors today, and how do I keep missing them?
One looked alright, in his early 20s at most. The only odd thing was that he was wearing headgear like sports announcers usually did and his arms were wrapped in bandages elbows-down. The other one, however, left you bewildered. For the first part, he had an army helmet on that covered his eyes completely, but he also was dressed up like he was ready for battle, with combat boots, a red shirt-like top with medals on it like they do on veterans that came down pass his belt, which had a holster in it, and he had a sash running across his chest that looked like they could hold grenades? You were a bit shocked, but Coach CC, as laid-back as she could be, was surprisingly acting like nothing was wrong.
"See the medals on helmet-guy?" Jamie pointed, and the group nodded. "Those are completely fake."
"How do you know?" Danielle questioned her.
"My dad is a veteran and those look nothing like his. Plus, they look poorly made." Before anyone from the group could say anything more, the bell rang, signaling the class to start.

Coach CC called everyone over, gesturing for the two men to follow her to the center of the gym: "Alright, class, instead of me leading class today, these two men will. You will do as they say and if any of you girls act out or don't obey, you'll be sent to the office. Right, Alex?" She eyed Alex, the girl who usually acted out and complained.
"Why me?" Alex whined, scoffing.
"You know," Coach CC simply put. "Do I make myself clear, class?" The class groaned a "Yes" and you simply nodded. "Alright then," she turned to the two men, "I leave them to you," and she walked away to her desk in the far corner of the gym.
The two men turned to the class and the helmet one immediately shouted, "LINE UP, MAGGOTS!" A little bit shocked the class didn't dare hesitate to line up.
"Now, in this gym you sorry excuses for girls will work out like you have never before!" The helmet guy yelled in his gruff voice, quieter, but still unnecessarily loud. You thought that comment was a little harsh, but you didn't dare question it.
"Uh, Soldier? I think ya scaring them a bit," the other one joined in, letting out a laugh. He had a Boston accent, making him sound peppy and snappy.
"Scout! Don't question my teaching methods, you only came because you wanted to see the new re-," "Soldier" cut himself off before he gave something away. "Scout" glared at him before turning back to the confused girls.
"Anyway, to get the instructions out of the way, just call me Scout I guess, and you can call him Soldier," he told them, pointing back at Soldier.
"That's Commander Soldier to you!" He yelled at them, getting a bit closer to Alex, who had rolled her eyes.
"N-no it isn't, don't worry guys," Scout assured the girls, pulling Soldier away. You lifted your brow a bit, smiling and trying not to laugh at the scene this Soldier and Scout were performing in front of you. "Now," Scout clapped his hands. "I heard that a mile was twenty-two laps around the gym, so I'll think we'll do just that." The girls' mouths dropped to the floor, only being used to walking five or seven laps around the gym for a warm up before they got to that day's lesson.
"Go, go, GO!" Soldier yelled, pulling the girls out of their state. You and your other two friends who liked finishing faster than the rest of the class, Eura and Stacy, started lightly jogging while the rest of the class started walking. Eura and Stacy were both Korean, and even though it wasn't their accent that threw you off, it was still confusing when they accidentally asked you something in Korean and you had to remind them that you only spoke English fluently. You heard Soldier yell at your class, you, Stacy, and Eura were already half-way around the gym: "YOU CALL THAT RUNNING MAGGOTS? RUN!" The three of you laughed a bit at the girls who were scared out of their minds.
"Alright, look, it isn't that bad see?" Scout said, jogging next to the girls. "To prove it to ya, I'll run, too, okay?" The class rolled their eyes, but nodded, noticing how he obviously had a much longer stride.

"I'll run, too then!" Soldier yelled, and started sprinting full speed. Soldier had already passed you and your two friends as Scout came up to you three. He had a cheeky grin, looking like he was enjoying himself.
"Heya, pals," He called, slowing down to our pace.
You let out a laugh: "Hey."
"Hello," Eura and Stacy both said, but Scout didn't seem to notice.
"Think ya can handle a mile like this?" he asked you, smirking.
"Honestly, I'll see how long I'll last, but I'm determined right now to at least finish, even if it means I'm crawling the last lap," you laughed, picturing yourself inching along the concrete floor like a worm. Eura and Stacy had probably pictured the same thing as they laughed too.
"DETERMINATION!" Soldier yelled as he passed the four of you, huffing and puffing every breath he took, looking ready to fall over or at least slow down.
Scout chuckled at Soldier: "Well, I'm going to leave ya now, toots. (Y/n), right?"
"U-uhm, right," you nodded, wondering how he knew your name. You knew you never told him. He ran off as you dismissed the thought and joked with Eura and Stacy for the rest of the running.
-+-{Time-skip to the end of running}-+-
Soldier was bent over with his hands on his knees, panting and looking ready to pass out even though he had finished five minutes before the rest of the class. Scout was next to him laughing his lungs out.
"That's what ya get for trying to one-up me Soldier! Ya know I'm da best at running!" Scout was wheezing by the time he calmed down and Soldier punched him in the shoulder. "Ow! Hey!" he complained, rubbing the spot Soldier hit and glaring at him.
Staying true to what you told Scout, you finished nearly crawling along the floor, not being athletic. Everyone was sweating profusely and looked ready for a nap while Scout looked like he could run longer than Forrest Gump.
Soldier addressed the class, taking a loud breath between every word: "Now that we're warmed up," everyone including you held in a groan, "It's time for some REAL exercises! Do one-hundred push-ups!" Silently groaning, you laid down on the floor and started counting.
You could hear Sam grumbling beside you: "This guy is so idiotic, I doubt he can even do one as he is right now." Only around five seconds later, you heard heavy footsteps behind you and saw Sam go white from the corner of your eye.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY MAGGOT?" you heard Soldier's voice scowled. You sped up your push-ups, reaching fifty quicker than you thought you would.
"N-nothing!" Sam grunted, trying to keep the fear from her voice.
"YOU BETTER NOT HAVE!" he shouted, "AND YOU MAKE SURE YOU DON'T, I'LL STAY HERE AND WATCH YOU DO THEM!" Sam made no reply. You felt eyes bore into the back of your head and subconsciously started tensing up, thinking that maybe he was watching you rather than Sam. You convinced yourself you were being paranoid again.
Soon you reached one-hundred push-ups and collapsed on the floor. You turned around and sat up, somehow making eye-contact with Soldier.
"I finished," you gasped. "W-what's next?"
He grunted, "Good job, maggot! Get a head start on your wall sits!" He pointed to the wall near Coach CC. You got to be kidding me. You reluctantly got up and walked over, starting your wall sits. You saw Tiana looking at you and she smiled with her crazy smile, giving a quick thumbs up before going back to the push-ups.
Scout trotted over and sat down beside you: "Heya, toots! Decent job with the push-ups, can't say I'm not impressed."
"T-thanks," you gasped, giving a chuckle while starting to feel the burn in your thighs. "Can't say I'm not feeling the burn though."
Scout chuckled, "Yeah, well, ya get used to it."
You nodded, "True."
"So have you ever done anything like this before?"
"Never"
"Do you like it?"
"Eh, well, I'm not the most athletic, but the running was fun I guess."
"The running's my favorite part, too." No kidding, but I'd like you to leave me, I feel like collapsing.
"Nice"
"Well, I gotta go, toots. See ya around," Scout told ya, hopping off. Okay, whatever you say.
"Bye."
-+-{Time-skip to the end of your wall sits}-+-
When Soldier called you from the wall, you crumpled to the ground overwhelmed with relief while the class, now doing wall sits, gave you envious looks. Soldier called you over to him and Scout.
Nervously you approached them, not so much with Scout, he was nice, cocky, but nice, it was Soldier who scared the crap out of you.
"Good hustle, maggot!" He shouted, slapping you on the back as you wished for the hundredth time that he wouldn't shout so close to your ear and kept yourself from stumbling. He was smiling almost like a proud father, and it threw you off a bit while Scout gave his usual smirk.
"T-thanks, are there any more exercises?" You prayed to be done, you needed a break and class was almost over as it was. Soldier laughed out loud and shook his head, making you feel a little stupid for asking.
"No, toots, go ahead and spend the last like what, ten minutes, to go do whatever you want," Scout said, chuckling.
"Thanks," you said, nodding and walking to your backpack. You got a book out and started reading. You only got about a page in before you noticed Scout and Soldier talking to each other, both stealing glances at you every couple of seconds. You couldn't hear what they were talking about, because for once Soldier wasn't yelling what he was saying. It unnerved you to the point where you almost didn't notice the bell ring for the next class. Your group of friends came over after you waved goodbye to Eura and Stacy.
"Man, that was brutal!" Jamie complained and the rest of them agreed.
"I-I mean, it could have been worse, right?" You told them, and they gave you a weird look. You saw Scout look over at your comment. "I even kind of liked it."
Tiana struck a sassy pose: "Well, look here little girl we all know you and your crazy self so calm down!" You chuckled and shook your head, saying goodbye and walking out to AP Bio not looking back, but fully aware of certain people's eyes following you.
