《The Slayers Of The Seven》XV - Constantine Mansion: Petty Hassles

[Hexa's POV]
We took the children back to their joyful parents and tied up the blue haired girl, as she belonged to no one in the village.
"Why don't we just dispose of her and just be done with it?" Mansoon asked as we walked into the clean cut grass of the Constantine Mansion's yard.
Saaxol shook his head, "I can't believe you would even suggest that! She's a kid!"
I look at my arm that got bitten by a Dire Wolf during the fight. I watched as the opaque black vapor flowed out of me, and circles around before disappearing into the cold air. All of us except Bud had gotten this strange mysterious vapor.
"I agree with Saaxol, we don't even have much information about her anyways, she might not have even kidnapped those children in the first place. She may also have information on the vapor". I explain, even though it may be in vain with Mansoon. He always seems to make up his mind and doesn't want to change it easily.
To my surprise Mansoon shrugged, "Okay, sure we will do it your way".
We started to make our way up the stairs to the elegant front doors of the mansion as Elwen walked out.
Elwen bowed at us, "It is great to see you have made it back just fine. Unfortunately Constantine had to leave for a business trip". She claps her hands together, "But! I have your payment".
Elwen abruptly turns around, her dress spinning with her. She bounced back into the mansion and back out with bags glittered with gold. Elwen started handing us all the bags but stopped when she saw the blue haired girl.
“Why do you have this girl tied up?” She asked as a stare from her traveled around us.

“She’s suspected to have kidnapped the children from the village. We are just bringing her here for some questions, so before we come onto any rash decisions”. I side eyed Mansoon as I spoke. Mansoon returned my look with a shrug.
“I see” Elwen raised her hand to her smooth chin, “There should be a safe place to keep her in captivity”.
“Oh, splendid, please take me there. I’m getting rather tired of carrying her around” Baldr said, smiling.
“I bet! Please, follow me, I’ll leave all of your payments by the front doors” Elwen continued her cheerful bounce over to one side of the mansion, Baldr following closely behind.
“Do tell me when she wakes up. I wish to speak to her when she awakens” I call out.
I grab the golden colored bag filled with coins and look inside, “UH” I choke on my spit as I see gold coins and lots of gold coins. I grab a gold coin and stare at it, a picture of an old king is on it with the ancient Stellaic words for, “L'effusion de sang était nécessaire”.
Those words always gave me goosebumps, considering what that king did to build up this country. I flipped the back of the coin, many of the gold coins had something unique on the back of them, this one had a faceless Golden Knight riding a wyvern carved into the back of it.
I look up and see Mansoon looking at me with a smirk, “What? Have you never seen a gold coin before?”.
I grow tense, “Yes I have! I just never had more than 50 gold coins at once!”
“At least you aren’t like me and have never even carried coins until Presto!” Saaxol laughed.
I flash a smile back at Saaxol and Bud shrugs, “Why do we even use coins anyway? Just make everything free. It’s too much of a hassle trying to figure out how to count stuff”.

Mansoon closes one of his eyes and wags his hands around in an exaggerated manner, “I wouldn’t expect a topic so complicated for you to understand, Bud. Money is what makes the world go round-” Mansoon stops himself as he sees a confused expression form on Bud’s face, “Wait. Shit. You are probably confused by that statement as well”.
“These coins make the world round?!” Bud says in bewilderment. His eyes bounce to his bag of coins and his eyes widen as he begins to tremble.
“I’d like to agree with Bud’s earlier statement, coins are stupid. I bet I could go on an hour long rant about how these pieces of metal make no sense. Like why do we waste and risk our lives just for some scraps?” Saaxol angrily shouted as he held a gold coin in the air.
“How is the world round from such small little things?” Bud poked at the bag of coins hesitantly, pulling his finger back away after each poke.
“I’m done!” Mansoon yelled, “You people are lunatics! I’m working with LUNATICS!” Mansoon stormed away from the group.
He’s one to talk after threatening to kill a child.
I began to step away from the angry Saaxol and the petrified Bud as they continued their ramblings to themselves. I made my way up to the library. I was meaning to come up here earlier but got busy, and maybe it’ll have something on what the weird black vapor from the bite is.
I stepped inside the library, books were littered across shelves and the floor for what seemed to be forever. I saw a man dressed in red wizard looking robes. I waved to him, “Hello my name is Hexa, I was wondering if you have any books relating to this bite”.
I roll up my sleeve to reveal the nasty bite from the Dire Wolf.
“Hmm… Yes there may be a book somewhere in this library related to it, but I’ll save you the trouble and tell you what it is”. The man in the red robes pauses and narrows his eyes at my arm. I saw his blue eyes turn green for a split moment, “Ahh… A Dire Wolf bite, I’d say you have a good 2-3 days left”.
My stomach drops, “Left… Of what?”
“Days left to live of course ” said the man bluntly.
